Day 30 – Holy Grail Beauty Item: Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush + Review

Hello beauties and welcome to the last day of my The 30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge! :) It’s finally here and I’ve been debating quite a lot which beauty item to choose for my Holy Grail Beauty Item post today. After the long consideration, I finally decided to talk about my Batiste Dry Shampoo in Blush which I cherish and love to pieces! :)

The first time I heard about dry shampoo was last year when I was having a trip in England. I was super impressed by the concept behind the dry shampoos and I instantly bought myself one and it was my all time favorite dry shampoo – Batiste. I’m sure most of you are familiar with this brand. Their shampoos have a bunch of different scents and also some are adapted for people with darker hair, which I think is great! My favorite scent is the Blush one, it smells really floral and fresh (plus the packaging is pink lol).

According to the Batiste website“Batiste Dry Shampoo banishes oily roots, giving dull, lifeless hair the makeover it needs without water. A quick burst revitalises hair, adds body and texture and leaves it feeling clean and fresh too. No need to worry about skipping a shampoo”. What can I say…? I agree! I absolutely agree with Batiste’s description. Their dry shampoo does exactly what they are supposed to do – they really absorb all oils in your hair, add amazing volume and make your hair (and scalp) feeling (and looking) fresh and clean. :)

I love using dry shampoo mainly to give my hair volume and shape. What I do every day is - before I start styling my hair I shake the can well, spray some product on the roots of my hair, then rub it into my scalp using my fingertips (this gives a lot of shape and volume) and then I brush the product out so that the powder is fully dispersed. After doing so my hair has amazing body and texture and it doesn’t look dull or flat. Using dry shampoo is also great for when you hair looks a little dirty/oily because it gets rid of it instantly.

I’ve tried a bunch of different brands that make dry shampoos, but to me, Batiste is the best one! The only negative thing I have to say is that Batiste sells only in the UK, the US and in Australia (correct me if I’m wrong). Therefore, I can’t purchase their product in my country, which really makes me sad. On a brighter note, my lovely boyfriend’s sister is kind enough to be bringing me some bottles of Batiste dry shampoo every time she comes to visit so I always have some in stock! Just know that if you live in some of the countries mentioned above – you are lucky to have this awesome product pretty much everywhere around you!! :))

The Batiste dry shampoo comes in different sizes – from a mini one (50ml. - £2.49) to a big one (400 ml. - £4.99). I always like to keep a mini one in my purse just in case I need some urgent extra boost in my hair. :))

Thank you all for reading; I hope that you enjoyed my 30 Day Beauty Blog Challenge. It’s been a blast for me making it! :)) I have many review and style suggestions coming soon, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested! :)

Have a great and successful week everyone!

Day 28: Favorite Face Powder: Maybelline Dream Matte Powder: Review

Hi loves! How are you? Today, I will be reviewing my favorite face powder for you guys. And the winner is Maybelline’s Dream Matte Powder. A quick preface – I love using powder and I use it almost every day. I like using it only for setting my makeup and maybe sometimes for blotting, but I never seek for extra coverage. So with that being said, I can honestly say that the Maybelline pressed powder is amazing for what I look for – it absorbs the oils incredibly and it sets my makeup so well that it stays on for hours! :)

To start off, the packaging is pretty cool in my opinion. I love its concept – it has two compartments. First, we open the lid and we have the powder itself and then you can twist the bottom part of the packaging and there is another separate compartment where we have a mirror and a little puff. I love the fact that the powder comes with a mirror and I don’t need to carry a separate one with me. Plus, I like that there is a puff that’s covered, so no dirt can go inside. I rarely use it though, cuz I prefer to use my Sephora Kabuki Brush, but the puff is great for when I’m on-the-go.

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

The formulation of the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder is amazing. It is really lightweight and it doesn’t look cakey or powdery on my face. The powder is really finely milted and its texture is very soft and smooth. On the Maybelline’s web site it says that “Formula is jet-milled into ultra-fine particles for an air-soft, ultra-silky texture”.

Now, I have combination skin and my T-zone tend to be oilier so I love using this powder to give my face a pretty matte look. It definitely gives me some good 6-7 hours of it. After that I just put on a little bit of product where it’s needed and I’m good to go. :)

I find that The Dream Matter Powder is perfect for setting the makeup, as well. It seals it and it stays on place throughout the whole day. Some people may be disappointed to hear that but this powder has a very light coverage. I don’t mind it, but if you’re looking for some coverage as well as the matte finish, then this powder may not be for you.

Usually, most the face powders that I use break me out, but I am pleased to say that with the Maybelline Dream Matte Powder I’ve never had that problem. My skin reacts very well to it! :)

The powder comes only in four shades and unfortunately all of them are pretty light, in my opinion. So, if you have a darker skin tone, then you may not be able to find the perfect shade for you.

Maybelline Dream Matte Powder

Overall, I think that this is an amazing product and I would definitely continue repurchasing it. I think, however, that it may not be suitable for people with super dry skin, since it can be a little bit drying. But if you have combination/oily skin I would absolutely recommend it! :))

Last but not least, let’s talk price! The Maybelline Dream Matte Powder retails for about $8 but the price may vary a bit depending on where you purchase it. I think that this is just a steal, considering how amazing the quality of the powder is. This product can be found in pretty much every drug store that sells Maybelline. :)

Which is your favorite face powder? I’d love to know and try some new products!
Have an amazing day, everyone!

Day 24: Favorite Blush: MAC Springsheen: Review +Swatches

Hello lovelies! Long time no see! And no, I am not death and I haven’t given up of writing a blog! I just was crazy busy over the past week with my boyfriend’s sister’s wedding, since I was a bridesmaid and I had so many things to take care of! Anyways, I hope you all will forgive me, especially because I have an extremely exciting post for you guys – My Favorite Blush! :))

I love blush! I just adore the way it makes your skin looking so much fresher and glowy! It can add a lovely hint of color that beautifully compliments your complexion. I have tried so many different shades and I found out that for me the color that works best is the coral-peach that leans more towards the orange side of things. A very poor color description, I’m aware, but to clear the things up a bit I am presenting you my all time favorite blush – MAC Springsheen! It pretty much has the exact shade I’m talking about.

This is my second pot of the Springsheen blush and I love it to pieces! I use it pretty much every single day and I just adore the way it compliments my skin tone. I have a pretty fair complexion (MAC NW 20 for reference) and this blush just adds that much needed pop of color to my cheeks. And let me just tell you – it does its job fantastically! :). What I love the most about this stuff is the gorgeous color that it has –perfect for any season, in my opinion. Except the gorgeous coral color if you take a deeper look at it you’ll see that is has some really fine golden shimmer to it (but no obvious sparks). This just gives the most amazing warm-toned sheen to your cheeks. Just to die for! :)

Another great thing about the Springsheen is the color pay-off. It is amazing! For me it’s super rare to find such a rich pigmented blush. Literally, with one gentle tap of the brush you’ll have the right amount of color! And if you prefer deeper, more dramatic cheeks you can always add more color up, since it’s really buildable. The staying power is also incredible – the blush just sticks on my face for ages!

You can find this product on the MAC website or in any MAC store and the blush itself retails for $20.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in the comments below which is your favorite blush? :))

Have an amazing day everyone!

Day 23: Favorite Lip Balm: Soap&Glory’s "A Great Kisser" in Juicy Peach + Review

Hi beauties! Hope your week is going great! Mine has definitely been absolutely hectic so far, because I will be a bridesmaid for my boyfriend’s sister’s wedding the upcoming Saturday and there are so many things to organize! :) Anyways, today I will be showing you my current favorite lip balm. If you’ve read my Favorite Lipstick post, then you all know that I am a huge lip balm lover! I have a ridiculous amount of these little guys in my collection and they are my most purchased beauty items. I honestly don’t know which one is my all time favorite lip balm, cuz I go through phases when I wear a certain one for so long, but then after a while I completely forget about it and start wearing a new one. Weird, I know but it’s just how it goes with me. So, with that being said, the lip balm that I am currently obsessed with is by Soap&Glory and it is their “A Great Kisser” in Juicy Peach.

Soap&Glory "A Great Kisser" Lip Balm
Soap&Glory "A Great Kisser" Lip Balm

First off, I love Soap&Glory. I love every single one of their products that I’ve tried and they all work really well. Two things that I am obsessed with Soap&Glory are A) the gorgeous packagings and B) the incredible, famous smell of the majority of their products. If you’ve tries Soap&Glory products before you know what I am talking about, if not then I thing the smell can be described the best if I tell you that it smells just like the “Miss Dior Cherie” perfume. It is amazing! However, “A Great Kisser” lip balm doesn’t have that distinct smell, which at first I was a bit disappointed by, to be honest. Then, I fell inlove with its scent. It smells just like peaches! And it tastes like it, too! :)) It’s really sweet and lovely. However, if you are not a huge fan of peachy scents, they you should know that “A Great Kisser” comes in Chocolate Cherry and in Sweet Coconut, as well!

The packaging doesn’t disappoint, either. It is the typical for Soap&Glory retro/vintage style and it’s very colorful and fun to watch. I always love when my beauty products have cute packagings, that way I am more likely to become my favorite! :)

Soap&Glory "A Great Kisser" Lip Balm

Consistency wise, this lip balm leans more towards the thicker and stickier side of the things. It definitely has a lip gloss feel to it once it is on your lips. This is something that I love because it is moisturizing enough to be classified as a lip balm, but at the same time it stays on and looks like a lip gloss. It’s one of those “win – win” products. :)

The color, as you can hopefully see in the swatch below, is a nice light peachy color, it is quite sheer, but it deffo does provide a little lovely tint to your lips.

The size of the tint is quite a deal is my opinion with the 18g. for only £5.

If you live in the UK I believe that you can find Soap&Glory products in Superdrug and Boots and if you are from the States and Canada your Sephoras should provide these awesome little products.

Thank you all so much for stopping by my blog! I would love to know what is your favorite lip balm. Let me know in te comments below! :))
