Hello loves! Oh, I feel as if I haven’t posted in such a long time even though it’s only been three days lol! Anyways, today I am here with the most exciting post I think I’ve done so far – the review of my newest lip product obsession: Rimmel Apocalips Lip Laquers!!
|Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers in: Eclipse, Nova and Apocaliptic|
These tree little guys came all the way from England this past Wednesday, brought to me by the lovely sister of my boyfriend. I asked her to bring me some of them cuz I’ve been seeing them on blogs everywhere and I wanted to see whether the all he hype it worth it! And let me tell you – they are just INCREDIBLE! Full stop.
For starters, it you are not familiar with what Lip Lacquers are, their formula is really cool and innovative. It is basically in-between lipstick and lip gloss. They are much more opaque and matt than lip gloss, but also go on more smoothly and are not as drying as lipstick. They have some build-in moisture and your lips don’t automatically feel dry when you put the product on. Big thumbs for that up from us girls with mega dry lips! :))

The Rimmel London’s Apocalips have amazing, creamy lip lacquer formula with semi-matte finish, but are not by any means sticky. The pigmentation is outrageous and the color comes out super strong (and is the same on the lips as you see it in the tube). Their stain power is also lovely and they all have doe-foot applicator, which is my favorite type of applicators! The Apocalips Lip Lacquers have 8 colors in the range and they vary from pale nude to super bright legit red. I have three to show you today and they are: Nude Eclipse, Nova and Apocaliptic.

The first one we have here is Nude Eclipse. It is the lightest color out of the eight and it’s a nice pale nude color. I have to tell you that this is my least favorite shade in the range just because since I am really pale and with light hair and eyes, I feel like this kind of colors wash me out really badly. Generally, I tend to go for more vibrant colors but I am sure that if you are someone with darker skin tone this shade would look beautiful on you. I think that for me Nude Eclipse could be perfect for toning down really bright lipsticks or lip glosses.

The second one I got is called Nova. It has such pretty bright pink color and I think that is would be such pretty shade to wear during spring/ summer time. I love it! <3
Last but certainly not least we have Apocaliptic! It is my favorite one and in my opinion it steals the show of the whole collection! It’s this super super bright fuchsia color, which I absolutely adore! This in kind of shade is definitely appropriate for a night out or an event. It is also the perfect shade to wear on those days where you don’t feel like wearing any makeup and you just like a bit of pop of color to freshen up the look. With that being said, if you are more daring I think this shade could be worn during daytime as well. You just need to keep your eye makeup more natural and simple and you’re good to go! :) If this is still a bit out of your comfort zone one trick I can give you when wearing Apocaliptic is that you can pad a little bit of the product on the center of your lips and then just gently blend it on your lips using your ring finger. This way the color well still be vibrant and pretty but not as “in-your-face”, if you know what I mean. :))

One issue, though, with the Apocalips Lip Lacquers is that since they are so pigmented, the brighter shades tend to apply a bit difficultly and the slightest mistake shows up really badly! So what I’ve noticed with these is that to prevent that you should take off the excess of the applicator and apply with as product-free brush as possible. If needed, you can always add more color afterwards but definitely bare in mind that with these a little product goes a long way!
The staying power of the lip lacquers is wonderful! They stay for hours and hours on the lips (especially the brighter colors) even through lots of eating and drinking! Fantastic!
So far these little gems are available only in the UK (I think) but I’m sure they will come out elsewhere soon. If you are in the UK you can pick them up for £5,99! :)
Thank you guys SO much for reading! Hope you enjoyed and have an amazing day! <3
