Maybelline Color Whispers Lips Color in Pink Possibilities

Hello beauties and Happy Friday! I literally have no idea where this week went but I am actually quite pleased that it’s now over because I am off to the vacation house with my family! :) So as I sit on the lovely balcony I decided to do a quick review on the product I have on my lippies today – Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color in the color 130 / 65 Pink Possibilities.

I’ve been seeing quite a few rave reviews on the Color Whispers flying around the blogosphere so when they released in my country last month I had to get one and Pink Possibilities seemed like a good choice. It is a gorgeous medium pink color, which has a lovely glossy finish. It goes on smoothly and it’s really creamy. The whole Color Whisper lip colors are pretty sheer but definitely give a lovely tint of color. Since I have naturally quite pigmented lips I need to apply more product to make it visible and pretty. On a brighter note though the Whispers are certainly buildable so this is not such an issue! (:

As far as formulation goes, the Color Whispers have a gel-like formula and kind of remind me of lip balms. They are definitely non-sticky or greasy and don’t have a waxy feel, which I am really happy about! <3 They are relatively moisturizing too! A huge turnoff about this lip product is that it wears off pretty easily and the color stays on my lips for only an hour… sadly!! The Whispers have a nice kind of vanilla (ish) scent to them but it’s really, really subtle and definitely not overpowering!

I know that many people compare the Maybelline Color Whispers with the Revlon Lip Butters and before I tried them I also thought that they may be similar but they actually are not as identical. The Lip Butters are definitely more opaque and glossier. As for consistency, the Color Whispers are much more watery and not as buttery, I feel like. If I have to be honest I prefer the Revlon ones but these are also lovely and great for everyday use! (:

Overall, I am really liking these little gems. They are moisturizing, non-sticky or greasy and the color selection is lovely! On a downside, they are not very long lasting and the color rubs off within an hour! :( Regardless, I will definitely be getting some other shades and I recommend checking the range out! :)

Thank you all so much for reading! <3 Have you tried the Color Whispers before?

Lots of love,
Andrea

  15. I've been using the color A Plum Prospect almost every day. I agree with you, I like lip butters better, but it's nice to have something lighter that I don't have to worry about sometimes.

  19. if you say you like the revlon lipbutters better than the color whispers I might just skip out on them all together. I love my lip butters! I am curious to try the L'oreal colour riche balms though.

  36. I agree with you in that they don't last a long time and are sheer, but sometimes that is what I'm looking for. I find these perfect for work. I am able to reapply without worrying about it looking too overdone or messy (you can even do this without a mirror). I'm really liking them for everyday wear!

Also I always love your pictures! I love how you've been putting flowers in with them. It just brings the whole picture to life!
