My Favorite Beauty Book / Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual Book

Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual Book

Hello my lovelies! Today I decided to do something a bit more different and instead of review of a product I wanted to talk about my all time favorite beauty read – Bobbi Brown’s 'Makeup Manual' (£20 / $32). This book has taught me SO much about beauty and makeup that I had to share it with you! Hope you enjoy! <3

I had had my eye on ‘Makeup Manual’ for quite a while but somehow I wasn’t sure that it would actually teach me something. I used to get all my beauty knowledge from other blogs and YouTube and I though that this is sufficient…but oh my how wrong was I. Don’t get me wrong, beauty gurus know what they are doing and they’ve given me some fab advice but it’s different to get another, more professional point of view. Bobbi Brown is a huge inspiration of mine, I think she is a truly inspiring woman, I ADORE her makeup products and obviously she is really makeup savvy so I had a lot to learn from her.

Bobbi Brown created the ‘Makeup Manual’ because she wanted to share her “inside information” and tips with all beauty addicts. Having more than 25 years experience as a makeup artist she definitely has a lot to talk about. The book is perfect both if you are a makeup newbie or a professional. The first part of the book contains some basic knowledge about skincare, nutrition, tools, eye makeup, corrector & concealers, skin tone foundation, bronzing, special occasion makeup and more. The second part is all about artistry: tips on how to break into the business, career options, essential equipment, advanced makeup application, working with celebs etc. The book includes not only some advice and tips but also step-by-step photo instructions on how to achieving the perfect makeup look, which is extremely valuable for me! (:

Makeup Manual” is such a great little read. I love just sitting on my dressing table, reading and taking notes. Bobbi Brown has a fantastic way of writing and the photographers who worked on the book did a brilliant job as well. The photos are so beautiful and make me even more excited about photographing my makeup haha. Overall, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve learned a lot about skincare, my skin tone, how to apply makeup correctly and much more from this beauty guide! I can recommend this book to you with all my heart if you have passion for makeup, you won’t regret it! I have already purchased two of her other books – ‘Beauty Rules and Pretty Powerful and I cannot wait to start reading them as well! <3

Have you read this book? Was it helpful? :)

Lots of love,

  16. I've so often stoped by this book in the bookstore only to leave it behind in the end because my thoughts on it were exactly the same as yours: What to learn from it?
But if it there really is a use in reading it, then maybe I won't just pass it the next time. Nah, not maybe, certainly!

  21. I need to get my hands on this book because I always hear Bobbi Brown come on the radio station in my city to talk about it and it looks like it could be really useful and informative! I'm not sure how much the 'industry' side will intrigue, but hey, one day it might so it's def. worth a read! :)

  28. Hello Darling!
I've heard about this book all over. Now I'm even more tempted. I was just listening to an interview with Bobbi Brown and the way she discussed makeup was so, idk how to explain it, clever? simple?
Thanks for talking about this book :)
