Hello cupcakes! For some reason last night I couldn’t fall asleep because I was waaaay too excited about my trip to London in September. I will be going for a few days and I cannot wait to go makeup shopping and to get my hands on some beauty products that I’ve been lusting over recently and which are not available where I live. Please if you live or have been in London recently, let me know which stores I need to pay visit to because I don’t want to miss any haha! :)
While I’ve been staring at my ceiling with wide-open eyes, I decided I may as well get up and paint my nails. Looking through my collection the nail polish that caught my eyes was this beautiful shade from ModelsOwn – Coral Reef. I showed it to you in my Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes post and since I haven’t done a full review on it I figured it’s about time to do one.
Coral Reef (let’s have a moment for the lovely name ahh) is this gorgeous orange-y coral shade, which in direct sunlight reminds me of legit blood orange, which I love. I absolutely adore how bright and vivid this nail polish is and I think it is just perfect for the summertime. What I love about this color is that it could be used both on my nails and toes and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you may know that I like to be all matchy-matchy haha. Coral Reef is the type of shade, which just brightens up your skin beautifully and kind of finishes off any summer outfit. Oh and it also looks fab when your hands are tanned. :) The polish has a nice cream finish and no shimmer or glitter in it. It dries to a nice glossy finish and I don’t feel the need to put topcoat on top. This nail polish is opaque and you need no more than two coats of it. When I don’t have the patience to wait for it to dry though I can easily go with only one layer.
As far as the formula goes, Coral Reef is okay. It applies easily and it’s not streaky but it takes sooo long to dry out, which annoys me to death! What I don’t really like about this nail polish (and any other Models Own polishes) is the brush. It is tiny! It’s so small and not very easy to work with, as you don’t have much control over the application. Apart from that, Coral Reef has a decent staying power and it usually stays on my nails for about three days. (:
If you are like me and you love rocking bright coral nails for the summer, Coral Reef is a must-have in your collection. The shade is absolutely stunning and I love it to pieces. Well, it can’t really steal the crown from Essie Cute as a Button as my most loved summer shade but it definitely comes second. <3
Have you tried Coral Reef before? Which is your favorite coral nail polish?
Lots of love,
