My Summer Holiday Makeup Essentials

Good morning ladies! I really hope your week is going wonderful so far! I am on my final preparations for my holiday, on which I’m going on Friday and I decided that it would be fun to guide you through some of my beauty makeup essentials that I’ll be taking away with me. I am not a light-packing person and I always have too many bits and bobs with me (I hardly ever use half of them though) but this year I decided to challenge myself and try to minimize the content of my makeup bag and take only the things I’m sure I’m going to use. We’ll see how that goes tomorrow but for now I feel determined! HA! As I don’t tend to wear too much makeup when I go to the seaside, I would try and keep it as simple as possible. Here are some of the beauty bits that are sure to make the cut tomorrow! Hope you’ll enjoy! :)

Going to the seaside, I will definitely have to get my favorite sunscreen and it is the (1) La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL 50+ Melt-In Cream. I love this because it has SPF 50+, which is really important for me because I go crazy with my UV protection and 50+ is a good start! :) This product is great for any skin types so if you have sensitive skin this may be a one to look for. It has never broken me out and I like that it feels relatively lightweight and looks good under foundation as well. Speaking of foundation, I will be packing with me my all time favorite (2) Chanel Vita Lumire Aqua Foundation. I’ve raved about it enough already but I have to mention that this stuff not only has a very decent coverage but it blends seamlessly into the skin and feels really light. Definitely a winner for the summertime, if you ask me! To get a flawless-looking skin recently I’ve been loving (3) Benefit Boi-ing concealer. It is really creamy and covers any unwanted scars / hyperpigmentation or dark circles we may have! Definitely check this out if you haven’t already, it really is a great concealer! Moving on to powder, my favorite one for the summertime has been (4) TooFaced Primed & Poreless. It really is the best translucent powder I’ve tried and I love it. It is super lightweight but at the same time it sets my makeup and keeps the oils at bay. It minimizes the appearance of pores and doesn’t give you the typical ‘powdery’ finish, which is great. Last but not least for my base, I adore using the (5) Avene Thermal Spring Water (review here). It is my newest obsession and I use it for SO many different things but it is exceptionally good for setting my makeup and it helps it stay in place all day. It’s definitely my top essential for this trip because it also cools me down and refreshes my skin amazingly!

For the rest of my makeup, I decided to take with me my (6) Urban Decay Naked, because you get 12 colors in just one palette and this would be more than enough for my entire eye makeup when I’ll be away. I will probably also pack my favorite (7) MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study (review here) to serve as a base. As far as blush goes, it would be rude not to take my two current favorites – (8) Dior Rosy Glow and (9) Sleek Rose Gold. They are both super pretty and I am obsessed with them. The Dior one is a true light pink shade, whereas the Sleek one is a gorgeous peachy pink shade, so you get kind of the best of both worlds, I guess. You’ve gotta have some bronzer on when you’re as pale as me and when you’re surrounded by so many tanned people and you’re on a summer holiday. So packing my favorite (10) Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer (review here) is in order. This has definitely been my best friend during Summer 2013 and I love it because it is completely matte and it looks very natural. It is not orange or muddy at all and just gives this lovely ‘sun kissed’ effect we all know and love, without making us look fake and overdone. For lips, I can honestly say that I still don’t know what I’ll bring and I will definitely get at least ten products but the two I will most definitely take away with me are the (11) MAC LipConditioner in Petting Pink and (12) Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop. The MAC lip balm is definitely a must-have for me because it not only makes my lips super soft and smooth, but also protects them from burning with its SPF 15. It also gives a nice hint of color to the lips, which is fab. As for the Revlon’s Lip Butter in Lollipop, the only thing I can say is that it is the most gorgeous bright fuchsia pink I’ve seen and I’ve been wearing it non-stop for the past month! It’s love and if you’re into such shades I cannot recommend it enough. It is also super creamy and moisturizing and crazy pigmented as well! :) Last but not least, I decided to include a nail polish into this post because no beauty essentials are complete without one. If you’ve been a loyal reader to my blog then I’m sure you all know which polish will steal the show! Yes, it is (13) EssieCute as a Button (review here) - my absolute favorite nail polish for this season, which was making me feel cuter than a button throughout those hot months. Its charming pinkish orange-y coral shade is so perfect that I even bought two pairs of matching bikini so that I can wear it non-stop during my holiday! Keen much haha? :)

So beauties, these are my top products that I’ll be taking away with me. I’m sure I’ll end up getting some more stuff but these are definitely the things I won’t leave the house without! Thank you so much for reading and I will talk to you again very soon! <3

Lots of love,

  8. I am totally on board with the boi-ing from benefit and Sleek's blusher in Rose Gold - they are both staples in my make up arsenal.

I must admit, I don't have the Urban Decay palette but do have theBalm's alternative (Nude 'tude) and couldn't live without that.

I love the Dior blusher but I think Sleek is a little more in my price range, and I have just got theBalm's blush in Swiss Dot so that would be going a little OTT!

Absolutely perfect amount for going away, and so versatile too. Perfect pics>

  9. I always back far too much too! I set myself a challenge to create 3 completely different looks from make-up I could hold in 2 hands (here) and was surprised by how little I really need!! I still don't have the Naked palette but won't go anywhere without my Naked 2 palette, even though it's not the easiest thing to carry around x
