Monthly Favorites / September

Monthly Favorites

Hello pretties! Can you imagine that it’s October now and the season of hot chocolate and pumpkin pies is officially here? I am rather happy about the fact that September is over to be honest. It wasn’t the best month for me, I had some lovely moments but for the most part it wasn’t very joyful and I had to face some major difficulties and deal with loads of stressful situations. But I guess that’s life... The important thing, however, is that September is over and I kiss it a big, fat *Goodbye*, which means it’s time to talk monthly beauty favorites, so let’s just hop right in, shall we! :)

Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation

When I was in London I paid a quick visit to Space NK and end up getting the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation, which has been on my wishlist for quite some time now. I just cannot express enough how much I am in love with this foundation. It has medium to full coverage but it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on, which is amazing. It hides any imperfections I may have and when using the Real Techniques Expert Face brush I am left with this beautiful flawless, airbrushed finish and my skin looks fab! The foundation also has amazing staying power and I can wear it all day and not be bothered applying primer underneath. Definitely a firm favorite for the month of September; I’ve been wearing it all day and I am massively impressed! <3

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm

As I’ve mentioned earlier, September wasn’t the easiest moth for me, which sadly reflects in major lack of sleep and as you can imagine my skin was looking dead and really dull. So I dug out my little helper for situations like this, namely Clarins Beauty Flash Balm. I have a full on review on it here, so I won’t get into much detains but let’s just say this is an incredible product. You just apply it underneath your foundation and it instantly perks-up your complexion. It moisturizes, tightens and most of all – eliminates the signs of fatigue, whilst energizing the skin. After applying it my skin feels so soft and smooth and looks so much healthier. It is love.

Sleek Rose Gold Blush

Last but certainly not least for my face favorites, I had to include this Sleek blush in Rose Gold. I talked about it yesterday so if you want to see full review and swatches you can do so here but let me tell you – it is one gorgeous blush. Its stunning peachy-pink with golden highlights shade is so beautiful and adds lovely warmth to the face. I love that it gives my cheeks a nice glow but at the same time looks quite natural, as the shimmer is definitely not in-your-face. Formula wise, this blush is also perfect because it applies easily and stays on for some good five-six hours. Sleek blushes are cheap as chips and definitely worth trying so I can recommend them without a doubt! :)

Benefit They’re Real Mascara

I have no idea why I still haven’t done a proper review on the Benefit They’re Real mascara as it is hands down my favorite mascara in the world. It makes my lashes look SO long and voluminous and I often get asked if I wear false lashes (cliché, but it’s the truth). The mascara holds curl brilliantly and doesn’t clump my lashes. It doesn’t smudge and is really black, which I always look for in mascara. At the beginning of September I picked up a new tube of They’re Real as my last one was getting dry and old and I think it’s safe to say that I’ve fallen in love with it all over again! <3

Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balm in Juicy Peach

It’s not a secret that I adore Soap & Glory products and when I saw this little vintage pot creeping from the back of my lip products drawer, I knew I had to dig it out and start using it again. Soap& Glory’s A Great Kisser has a weird formula. The brand portrays it as a lip balm but I’d say it leans more toward a lip gloss because it is thicker and stickier than a balm. It is not overly sticky or anything, so don’t worry and actually feels quite moisturizing. It gives a nice glossy finish so it could be used on top of lipstick or on its own for a nice juicy pout. What I love most about the ‘balm’ though is its amazing peachy scent. It smells so lovely and sweet and instantly puts me in a happier mood. The packaging is also to die for so it’s been a pleasure to pull out the product from my purse this past month. :)

Random Favorites

I’ve decided to sneak in two little random favorites this month and the first one is this pink notebook, which I love. I use it for everything blogging related - I plan ahead some of my posts, take notes when trying out new products or for example write down some beauty tips etc. It’s been a lot of fun and also makes everything much more organized and easier. My second random favorite has to be a song and I am talking about the Passenger – Let Her Go. This song is just SO beautiful and makes me really emotional. If you haven’t heard it before please do, I think you might like it. It has been played on repeat for the past two weeks and I love it to pieces.

So lovelies, thank you so much for reading and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Let me know if you’ve tried any of the products I talked about and also tell me which have been some of your most used beauty bits during the month of September? I wish you all an unforgettable and happy October! <3

Lots of love,

  1. I love the Benefit They're Real mascara and the Clarins beauty flash balm, but I have to disagree with the Laura Mercier silk creme foundation.. I've had it for a few months now and it just isn't working out for me.. So it's sitting in my drawer unused.. x

  7. I think I must be on my 3rd Seek MakeUP Rose Gold blusher by now! I have got their new one for Autumn called Antique Rose and it is gorgeous, just a really subtle berry shade (though looks rather scary in the pan! Another blusher I have recently been buying is Illamasqua's Velvet Blusher in Peaked - just stunning.

    Great picks you made

  9. Silk Creme is my favourite foundation too! I can't get away without a primer though, but then I struggle with that with any foundation, so I don't consider it a fault. I really don't like the Benefit mascara though, which is weird because everyone raves about it. I just find it really clumpy and difficult to build. I much prefer the Maxfactor ones, which are a lot cheaper too =) Glad to hear that you're getting on well with it though! =) xx

  29. Whoop, whoop, welcome October! I'm so excited this month has finally arrived, I love it just too much <3
I haven't tried the Clarins balm for the face, but have the one for the eye region and whereas it's a good eye cream, I'm not overly excited about it. It works for me, but it's not the big love so I'm not sure if I want to invest in its big brother, we'll see!
