Hello beautiful ladies! Now that autumn is officially here I felt the urge to go out and get me some new fall-appropriate nail polishes. I do this every year and it kind of puts me in the mood for the new season, I love it. I figured that my trip to London is the perfect occasion to get me some new shades and try out different brands that are not available where I live. Can we all guess where I went straight to? Yes, that’s right – Barry M counter. I love Barry M and ever since their Gelly polishes came out I’ve wanted to try them out. I picked up a few shades and the one I decided to wear today is called Watermelon.
Even though its name is quite summery, Watermelon is actually a gorgeous dark teal, which is ideal for the colder months. I love that it changes its color a bit depending on the lighting – sometimes it is more like a true dark green, whereas at times is more on the blue side. I absolutely love Watermelon as I think it is a very unique shade and I feel like it suits my skin tone well. The polish doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter in it and dries out to a beautiful, highly glossy (hence the name) finish.
I find that Barry M Gelly nail polishes are quite controversial when it comes to their formula. Some people love it and some hate it. I personally, still haven’t decided if I like it or not. One of the other shades I got – Plum, is so gloopy and streaky and so hard to apply. This one, however, applies very faff-free. The polish is thick but not too thick that it gets gloopy; it’s not streaky and dries out quickly. Just make sure you shake it really well before application. Watermelon is very opaque with the first coat but I always apply two because I like my nails to be very shiny. Last time I wore this nail polish it lasted me for a good week without chipping or tip wear, which is super impressive! One thing I don’t love about the Gelly Nail Paints is the brush. It’s okay but in general I prefer wider flat brushes, as they are much easier to work with but oh well…
Overall, I am really happy with this nail polish and I can see it becoming a staple in my fall nail polish stash. Watermelon is such a beautiful and unique shade and I find the formula fault free. The polish applies like charm; it is super shiny and stay on for absolute ages. It’s love and I definitely recommend it! <3
Have you tried Watermelon before? Whish is your favorite shade of the Barry M Gelly Nail Paints?
