Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam

Hello pretties! Hope you had a fab weekend? I had such great, relaxing days involving loads of food and yumminess made by my lovely grandmother, which if you didn’t know is a genius cook. I feel as if I gained at least three kilos over the weekend but it was worth every bite haha. Apart from that, yesterday I realized that I haven’t done my Monthly Favorites yet, which is a huge miss having in mind how many incredible products I have to show you. If you remember my latest Haul, you would know that I had some crazy problems with my skin at the beginning of the month. With that said, I was trying some new products to help me deal with the situation the best way possible. Three items stood out to me the most, plus Soap & Glory have made quite an impression throughout October, so get excited because this month’s favorites are all pretty amazing! :)

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo (£13)

I will have to start with my favorite product of the bunch and the award goes to LaRoche-Posay Effaclar Duo, which is basically a “corrective and Unclogging Anti-Imperfection Care that reduces the appearance of imperfections and purifies pores”. As I mentioned, my skin was having quite a hard time, which for me was a first and I didn’t know what to do. The products that I already had obviously didn’t do the trick so I went online and searched for something that could clear my breakouts (btw thank you for those Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation!) and restore the condition of my skin. I stumbled across both tons of really positive and really negative reviews about Effaclar Duo and didn’t know whether I should go for it or not. Then I realized that the formula in the US and in Europe is a bit different and Europe’s version doesn’t contain benzoyl peroxide (which is know to irritate the skin) so I caved and bought it. I used it twice a day underneath my moisturizer (it is a bit drying so I need some extra hydration) and oh my days – the effect was incredible! My skin cleared out so much (it’s perfectly okay now, thank God!), my pores appeared smaller, my face was nicely matte & less red and above all – the inflammation was gone. Also, the lady in the pharmacy explained that Effaclar Duo could be used as a spot treatment as well and I am happy to announce that it really does work amazingly and heals the spots really well, and quickly too. I have never used anything that works SO effectively and it is my little miracle worker now. Please, please if you have oily / acne-prone skin and you have never tried this product – go give it a go because it is absolutely incredible and totally saved my skin! <3

Rimmel Wake My Up Foundation (£8.99)

In my Complexion Goodies Haul, I showed you that I got two foundations, in the hopes of helping me cover everything that was going on on my face lately. Even though I am in-love with Make Up Forever HD Foundation, the fact it accentuates dry patches has made it quite hard to wear during my skin crisis. With that being said, Rimmel Wake Me Up has totally stolen the show and it is now my hands down favorite drugstore foundation. It provides lovely coverage and hides any redness and blemishes I may have. Also, you can build it up or down, depending on your preference so it is perfect for everyone’s needs. The cool thing about this product is that it is actually ‘anti-fatigue’ foundation that adds light to your face and makes you look awake and fresh. To help achieve that look Wake Me Up has really finely milled shimmer in it but fear not – it is almost invisible and looks really natural on the skin. I absolutely love this effect and even though at first I was quite skeptical about the shimmer, now this is my favorite thing about the foundation – it just makes me look SO healthy and dewy, but not oily at the same time. I think that if you are after that kind of finish and if you have dry or normal skin this product will become one of your faves too. :) Another thing I love about Wake Me Up is that it feels really lightweight on and it looks extremely natural, almost like second layer skin. Incredible!

Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer ($32)

Last but not least for my complexion remedies, we have the ever so lovely MUFEFull Cover Concealer. This little gem is the best full coverage concealer I have ever tried and I love it to pieces! It covers everything from little redness not severe breakouts and on top of that – it doesn’t look cakey! The concealer is quite thick but doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on the skin and it is also waterproof. It could be used as an under eye concealer but since I have very dry under eye area, I prefer not to put it there. Once I did though and surprisingly enough I discovered that it doesn’t crease at all. What? I love that Full Cover comes in a tube, which is really hygienic and we don’t want any bacteria going into the product, do we? The only thing I am not crazy about this concealer is the price tag of $32. Pretty steep, but at the same time it really helps me improve my confidence, plus you only need the tiniest amount, so at the end of the day I’d say it’s worth it and I definitely recommend it to anyone.

Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminazing Face Powder (£11)

I just did a full on review with swatches on this incredible product last week (here) so I won’t go into too much details but let’s just say I’ve finally found my perfect highlighter / illuminating powder. Glow All Out is this extremely finely milled powder that just adds light to your face without making you look like a glitterball. It is so subtle and beautiful on the skin and I love that it makes me look really healthy and dewy. It is the best pick-me-up product that I’ve tried and I love how natural it is. You can use it for contouring as a highlighter or just pop it all over your face for an overall glow. Also, it is really long lasting so you don’t need to touch up throughout the day. Finally, let’s just have a minute and appreciate the gorgeous packaging! It’s love, isn’t it? :)

Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam (£8)

Chubby Sticks anyone? Yes please! They are my newest lip product obsession and I have accumulated quite a few of them recently. My favorite one at the moment though has to be this Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam (thumbs up for the mouthful name!). It is a gorgeous reddish plum-y color, which is great for fall and winter. The Gloss Sticks are not overly pigmented and just add nice hue to the lips so if you fancy wearing a red lip but you are not as bold and you prefer something more sheer, Plum Jam is the one the go for. The formula of this range is also really lovely as the sticks are something between tinted lip balm and lipgloss. They feel really soft and moisturizing on the lips but have a gorgeous glossy finish, just like a gloss. There is a slight stickiness but it is really minimal and doesn’t bother me at all (coming from someone who HATES sticky lip products). The Sexy Mother Puckers wear for some good two to three hours, which is pretty decent for me. Now, Soap & Glory claim that these sticks provide ‘3D volume’ but honestly I haven’t noticed any plumping but it might be just me… Overall, I am extremely happy with this range and Plum Jam has become a staple in my Autumn / Winter makeup bag, it’s stunning so definitely go swatch it if you have the chance! <3

So lovelies, these were my top picks for the month of October, I really hope you enjoyed this post! I honestly recommend each and every one of these items and if you fancy going shopping soon you may want to check these out. Brilliant products, without a doubt! :) Have a wonderful November everyone and now I’m off to make me some Chai Tea Latte, yum!

Have you tried any of these products? How do you like them? What have you been loving this past month?

Lots of love,
