Please tell me I am not the only one who gets super excited when by the end of our makeup routine it’s time to decide what lipstick to wear that day?! Yes, this could be so much fun, but it could be rather stressful as well. Especially when we’re in a hurry and we have to fast dig through our entire lipstick collection hoping to find the perfect shade that compliments our eyes, blush, nails, outfit and whatnot… To avoid all this stressfulness I have a foolproof method that narrows down my search significantly – at the beginning of each month I select six shades that I love and I know I’ll get a lot of use out of. I put them into a lipstick holder right on top of my vanity, so that I have my fave lippies at hand and I can easily decide what to wear if I don’t feel like spending ages swatching every single shade I own. Here are my top six products, which made the cut this month and which I’ve been wearing non-stop recently. They are gorgeous, winter-appropriate shades!

Starting off with my two absolute favorites of the bunch – MAC Rebel (review here) and Rimmel Moisture Renew in Sloane’s Plum (review here). If you are into darker, more vampy shades, which look really classy but at the same time add hint of edginess to your look – these beauts are the ones to go for. Rebel is this unique deep fuchsia berry shade that never fails to make an impression. The formula is brilliant as well and I can’t fault anything about it. Sloane’s Plum is my drugstore baby at the moment. I am head over heels in love with its wine red, plum-y shade, which is really sophisticated and finishes off my makeup like nothing else. I also swear by the formula of this gem – it is so hydrating and pigmented and has stunning glossy finish, which I adore.

Winter wouldn’t be complete without a red lip, especially around Christmas, would it? Definitely not! With that said, I have two red lipstick loves right now – one darker and one in classic red. They are both from Rimmel Kate, which means one thing – beautiful, vibrant colors and amazing quality for lower price! The first one I have here is the infamous #107 (review here), which is a stunning dark berry red and it is so elegant and pretty that I cannot stop wearing it. It is an all-round winner for the season and I get tons of compliments when I wear it! The second lippie is your classic red – it is in #22 and I adore it. It is a gorgeous true red with slight pink undertones to it, which compliment my skin beautifully. It is my ideal Christmas shade and you bet what I’ll be rocking on Christmas Eve! ;)

On days when I just can’t help it and I go for a smokey eye, I like to opt for more natural shades, but I still like them to have that winter berry undertone. I absolutely love MAC Syrup (review here) and Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker in Plum Jam. Syrup is a lovely mauve-y pink with slight berry hues to it. When in doubt, I always go for it and know that I cannot be wrong. It is a universal shade that compliments everyone’s skin tone and it’s the ideal smokey eye companion. Plum Jam, on the other hand, is a sheer reddish plum shade, which is great if you don’t fancy rocking a bold, bright lip but still want a tint of color. It has a nice glossy finish and it makes any look more glam.

So there you have it loves – the roundup of my favorite winter shades. These gems are both day-time and party-time approved and are sure to make you feel that much more special during the festive season. Be it Christmas or New Years Eve, they will definitely boost your confidence; I know they do mine.

Have you tried any of these shades? Which one os your favorite?
