I Heart Summer Series / June Favorites

Hello my lovelies! How is everything going? I hope you all are doing great and are enjoying the summer and your holidays! I actually cannot believe that today is the last day of the month of June; where on Earth did the time go! I feel as if I just skipped the whole month and I transported myself directly to July haha! I am by no means complaining though because on July 12th is my birthday, which I am really excited about ,so everything is fine! :) For today’s I Heart Summer series I wanted to do my June Favorites. I actually don’t have many makeup favorites because I actually wore very minimal makeup for the past month but I still have a few! :) Hope you enjoy!

Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs ($12 / £9,99)

I’m going to start with my top favorite product of the month and it is without a doubt this Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs spray. Now I am really pale and for me the worst thing about summer is my legs! I hate their color and since I don’t fancy sun tanning a lot I need to use self-tan. The one that is absolute winner in my books is this one by Sally Hansen! This stuff is such a miracle worker; it not only gives my legs beautiful and natural tanned look but it also hides any imperfections I may have, which is incredible! It is basically like makeup for your legs and surprisingly it doesn’t feel heavy or anything; it feels really moisturizing and your legs are SO soft to the touch. I cannot recommend this product enough if you like self-tanning and I am actually thinking of doing a full review on the product soon with before and after pictures so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested! (:

The Body Shop Body Butter Duo in Floral Acai ($20 / £13)

Speaking of perfect skin for summer, the next product I love using to make my skin as perfect for summer as possible is this Butter Duo in Floral Acai from The Body Shop. What I love about it is that it actually has two types of moisturizer (hence the name). The first one is more like a lotion, it is more liquid-y and it is great to use on normal skin. I apply this on my arms, shoulders, chest area and my back and it just gives the perfect amount of hydration. The second one though is much more thicker in consistency and it is like legit butter, which I like to use on areas where my skin is a bit more dry such as my legs, elbows, knees and heels. This softens and moisturizes the skin SO well while leaving it smell divine of floral acai! I am actually a huge fan of THB body butters but for summer I feel like that they may be a bit too heavy, so this duo is perfect! <3

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Milk Chocolate ($30)

Moving on to makeup, the one product that I wore every day on my face was this Chocolate SoleilBronzer from Too Faced. I absolutely love using it both for contouring and just in cases when I want to give a little bit of color and warmth to my face. The bronzer is not in the slightest muddy or orange and looks really natural on my skin, which is extremely important for me. It doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter in it and it’s completely matte, which if you ask me is the way to go during the day. I love Chocolate Soleil’s formula because it is perfectly pigmented and really easy to work with. Another thing I am crazy about this bronzer is the lovely cocoa scent, I kid you not – it smells like chocolate and it is super delicious! :) If you want to see my full review on this product you can do so here .

MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study ($18,50 / £14,50)

As I’ve mentioned earlier, I wasn’t feeling like wearing much makeup during June and pretty much the only eye makeup I was using was MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study. I like to just swipe a little bit of product all over my lid, put on some mascara and I’m ready to go! I absolutely adore this cream eye shadow because it not only doesn’t crease but also it really is creamy and pretty easy and hustle-free to use. As far as the shade goes, I LOVE it. It is such a gorgeous champagne-y color and its lovely pearl-y finish brightens up the look so beautifully and makes me look awake and fresh! Bare Study has always been a staple in my makeup collection and if you don’t already own it, I highly suggest you getting it because it is absolutely gorgeous! :)

Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Pearl in Sari Pink ($28 / £21)

Last but certainly not least, for my makeup favorites in June we have this gorgeous lip gloss from Dior in the shade Sari Pink. I recently did a full review with swatches on this little gem (you can see it here) so I won’t be getting into much detail, but I just have to tell you that I ADORE it. Sari Pink is this beautiful coral-y pink with some lovely blue undertones to it. It has lovely fuchsia and silver shimmer in it and when on the lips it is super shiny and glossy! <3 It looks super natural and I feel like it’s the prettiest summer shade! Another thing I love about this lip gloss is that it isn’t by any means sticky, which is rare in lip gloss and I give it big thumbs up! The gloss is also pretty hydrating and won’t dry out your lips! :)

Essie Cute as a Button ($8 / £7,89)

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while then it won’t surprise you that for nail polish I have been loving Essie Cute as a Button. I swear, I haven’t been wearing anything else on my nail than this cute shade during June. I just love it SO much and it is without a doubt my favorite summer shade, I don’t even know what was I doing before Cute as a Button came into my life haha! It is this fab pinkish orange-y coral, which basically sums up the summer for me! I absolutely adore how bright and vibrant this nail polish is and just looking it on my nails at the moment makes me dream of the beach!

Guerlain - La Petite Robe Noire Eau de Perfume ($81 / £60)

Ohh my… as soon as I got a little sample of this perfume at Sephora I knew that this is my favorite perfume of all times (apart from Escada Pacific Paradise, which sadly was limited edition *crying*). I am definitely not a fragrance expert but according to Temptalia this iconic Guerlain perfume has notes of black cherry, almond, berries, rose, licorice, black tea, tonka bean, vanilla, and patchouli. I am absolutely obsessed with it and since I unfortunately can’t describe it for you, I just urge you to go sniff it in store because it really is so feminine and elegant and who knows… it might be your new favorite perfume as well! <3

So beauties, these were all products I’ve been absolutely loving during the month of June! I hope you enjoyed this post and have found some new beauty goodies to check out! Please let me know what you’ve been obsessing over for the past month, I need to do a little bit of shopping soon and I’d love to try some new stuff! :)

Lots of love,
Andrea

Perricone MD Skincare Discovery Set

Hello beauties! Hope you are having a lovely day! Today I wanted to review the Perricone MD Skincare Discovery Set* for you allI’ve heard great things about the brand and I've always wanted to try some of their products so I am really happy that I had the chance to. As you may know from my latest haul, I’ve been getting really into skincare recently so I'm sorry for the crazy long post but I just have a lot to talk about haha. :)

For those of you who don’t know, Perricone MD Cosmeceuticals was founded by the well-known Dr. Pericone who is a skincare specialist and his books have become skincare bestsellers worldwide. The Perricone MD Discovery Set that I got comes with total of four (mini) products, which I think is an amazing way to try out new goodies and to see how you like them. On the little card that came with the set it says “Discover the power of Acyl-Glutathione to address the accelerated signs of aging”. Well, me being 22 I don’t particularly have many problems with signs of aging (except some fine wrinkles on my forehead maybe) but I’ve heard that all Perricone MD products actually help to improve skin texture and to make it more elastic and hydrated as well, so I decided to give this a try. As I mentioned, The Discovery Set came with a card, which explains how to use the products step by step which was really helpful for someone like me who is not fully aware of skincare yet! :)

Step 1: Nutritive Cleanser (59 ml / 2fl oz)

The first product that I got is this Nutritive Cleanser($36 / £37.00 full size) Nutritive Cleanser($36 / £37.00 full size) and it is actually my absolutely favorite of the bunch. I like to use this face wash both morning and night and I just gently massage some product into my damp face and then rinse with warm water. At night I firstly remove my eye makeup with Bioderma H2O and then wash my whole face and neck with this Nutritive Cleanser. It removes my makeup perfectly and leaves my skin feel super clean and SO soft and elastic. What I love about this is that it actually balances out the oils of my skin and doesn’t leave it feel dry or tight, which I find rare in facial cleansers. After using this my skin looks radiant and my skin tone is much more even. It may be just me but I actually noticed that my pores look minimized, which is a huge bonus for me. The Nutritive Cleanser has a lovely consistency; it is something in-between gel and oil and I absolutely love how gentle it is. It actually feels super silky and luxurious on the skin and I love how pampering it is! <3 I can’t describe the scent of this product very well but it reminds me of some very expensive oils they’d use on you in the Spa salons. It has slight floral undertones in it and I find it quite pleasant. The Nutritive Cleanser is Paraben-free, which is always a plus! :)

Step 2: Acyl-Glutathione (7.5 ml / 0,25 fl oz)

The Acyl-Glutathione ($175 full size) is supposed to address the visible signs of accelerated aging and it helps to restore the youthful energy of the skin. As its name suggests the product helps to replenish glutathione (which is an extremely important antioxidant) in our skin cells. If your skin lacks glutathione it may look dehydrated, non-elastic, tired or wrinkled. Acyl-Glutathione helps the skin gets its natural, healthy condition and makes it look brighter and more youthful. Since I started using this product I’ve noticed that the little creases on my forehead look a bit less obvious, which I was really impressed about! The overall condition of my skin has dramatically improved and it is now much more, lifted, tight (yet elastic) and it feels so much smoother and moisturized. What I like to do is to apply the Acyl-Glutathione after I’ve cleansed my skin, right before I apply moisturizer. If I have to be completely honest, I didn’t think that this stuff would work but I am really excited to say that I’ve noticed a massive improvement on my skin! One thing that bothers me though (beside the ridiculous price) is that it has a terrible smell! I can’t really describe it but it is quite heavy and it reminds me of shoe paint, but much worse!

Step 3: Face Finishing Moisturizer (7.5 ml / 0.25 fl oz)

The next step after using the Acyl-Glutathione is to moisturize. The product I got was Perricone MD’s Face Finishing Moisturizer ($69 full size). Now this is the product that I really didn’t get along with and I am actually pretty disappointed in. It is described as “a lightweight moisturizer formulated with antioxidants to help firm skin’s appearance and minimize the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Works beautifully under make-up and leaves the skin looking naturally dewy”. Now, this sounds pretty amazing, doesn’t it! Unfortunately, I have to say that apparently my skin type doesn’t suit this product because it worked terribly on me. For starters, the second this product touched my skin it started to burn and it hurt so hard it was almost unbearable! The first time I instantly ran to the bathroom and washed my entire face and luckily the nasty feeling disappeared. The next day though I decided to give it another try so I can give you a better review on this stuff. I applied it again and it hurt SO much but I left it and after 10-15 minutes the pain went away. So far so good! BUT after another 10 minutes my entire face and neck started itching like crazy! I’m not gonna lie – I got scared that the product is making some kind of reaction to my skin and I washed it straight away. The next day I had some minor breakouts, which is not typical for me at all and I am pretty sure that we have to blame it on the Face Finishing Moisturizer. I really did want to like it but it just isn’t right for my skin! :( Anyway, another thing I wanted to mention is that the cream feels a bit too heavy for my liking and it sadly doesn’t absorbs fast and it leaves a greasy residue, which is quite bad, especially if you want to put makeup on top!  On a more positive note, I have to say that the moisturizer has a nice rose scent, which is nice and subtle and if you like rose-scented products I’m sure you’ll love this! I am really sorry that I couldn’t give you more in-debt information but I didn’t want to risk inflaming my skin any further.

Step 4: No Foundation Foundation (7.5 ml / 0.25 fl oz)

The last product I got I’ve actually heard quite a lot about and it is this No Foundation Foundation ($55). I was super excited when I saw that the Discovery Set I got comes with this product in it cuz I’ve been meaning to try it for ages! This foundation is infused with a lot of skin beneficial ingredients such as Alpha Lipoic Acid, DMAE and Vitamin C Ester, which is lovely and it is also Paraben-free! It is specifically designed to correct skin undertones, to smooth fine lines and to boost skin’s natural moisture. The foundation, as its name suggests, gives a nice translucent coverage so it doesn’t cover blemishes or acne scaring and you’ll definitely have to use concealer on top. It just gives a beautiful radiant and dewy look to the face and makes it look so much more youthful and healthier. I’ve noticed that my skin tone is more even and the small creases I have on my forehead are almost not visible, which is fab! The foundation comes in two shades – original and a Fair one. I got the darker version and when I saw it for the first time I thought that it’s going to be too dark for my skin but when I actually applied it it turned out to be perfect! As I said, this foundation doesn’t have much coverage so the shade worked really well for me. The No Foundation Foundation has a nice creamy consistency and it applied really easily. It feels really lightweight and it’s perfect to use on days when we don’t feel like wearing much makep and we just want to brighten up my complexion :) The product has a very weird scent, which I am not fond about but luckily it doesn’t linger and it’s not overpowering. This foundation is listed as “suitable for all skin types” and it has SPF 30 in it. :)

In a nutshell, I would say that the brand definitely has what to offer if you are willing to pay a little bit extra. I personally would definitely purchase the Nutritive Cleanser and the Acy-Glutathoine at some point because I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my skin while using them and I highly recommend them. I am still undecided about the foundation because even though it has a lovely formula I tend to lean more towards medium coverage foundations. The product that I will definitely have to warn you about is the Face Finishing Moisturizer because it not only broke me out but the terrible burning pain I got from it is certainly not something that I’d love you to experience! :)

Have you tried any Perricone MD products before? Which is your favorite? <3

Lots of love,

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter: Review

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Hello loves! How are you, hope all is well and you had a fab weekend! The summer sales have kicked in and I couldn’t resist so I did a little bit of shopping the past couple of days. Opps! If you’re interested to know what I got please let me know and I’d love to haul everything for you! :) Now for the exciting part, the product that I’ll be reviewing for you today is one of my Holy Grail beauty goodies and it is Lush Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter ($16.89 for 1.5 oz.  or £6,25 for 50g.).

I get asked a lot on my NOTD posts how I maintain such nice cuticles so there you go ladies and gentlemen – Lush Lemony Flutter actually does it all for me! (: About two years back I had a lot of problems with both my nails and cuticles so I was searching the Internet for some reviews on great cuticle treatments. The one that most of the people suggested was this butter from Lush. Back then I wasn’t such a Lush addict so I wasn’t expecting much but still decided to give it a go. As per usual, I couldn’t be more wrong and I not only LOVED Lemony Flutter straight away but also it is now a firm part of my nail care routine!

Lemony Flutter comes in the typical black Lush jar and it has some instruction on how to use the product as well as the full list of ingredients at the back. There is also an illustration of the lovely Kamila, which made my product (these always intrigue me so much for some reason haha). One jar of Lemony Flutter contains 50g. / 1.5 oz., which at first seemed like not much product but it actually turned out to be pretty economical and a little goes a long way! The cuticle butter expires for approximately one year and to be honest I am not able to finish the jar during that time, even though I use it every single day. :)

Even though Lemony Flutter is labeled as “cuticle butter”, it is also great to use on any other dry bits of your body like your knees, elbows and heels. It actually really does work wonderful, which I love, plus you know I am a sucker for such multifunctional products so this is definitely a winner! (: As for the actual cuticles, it is absolutely amazing too. I religiously use this every night and I just rub a little bit of product into the areas I want and then let the product sit. When I wake up in the morning my skin is SO smooth and deeply moisturized and the cuticles are so much more supple. It is actually amazing how this stuff works and how it transforms my hands overnight! (: Lemony Flutter has a very thick buttery consistency and it feels super rich. The product has so much beneficial ingredients in it such as Shea butter, mango butter, beeswax and cold-pressed avocado oil as well as tons of other great oils, so it comes as no surprise to me how brilliant it is! <3

As much as I adore how soft and smooth this makes my cuticles, there are a few small drawbacks to Lemony Flutter that I’d like to mention. The biggest turnoff for me is the scent! Even thinking of it now makes me sick… It has such strong, overpowering zesty lemon scent that even though it initially feels fresh is just too much for me. I love citrusy scents but this one has weird undertones to it and it’s just too strong. Sadly, it does linger for hours, which is even worse! Despite the horrendous smell though I absolutely love this product and I won’t stop using it but it would just be great if Lush do something about it… I know that some people enjoy Lemony Flutter’s smell so don’t be scared, just go ahead and give it a sniff in the store! :) What I am also not too fond about this product is that it is a bit greasy. Even though I work the butter well into my skin it takes ages to absorb and it definitely leaves a greasy feel. This is understandable having in mind the impressive amount of oils the product has in it, but this is why I use this only at night! (: One last thing that may be important for some of you is that Lemony Flutter is NOT virgin!

So beauties, this is all I have to say about Lemony Flutter. This miracle worker makes my cuticles soft, smooth and hydrated and it is definitely a must-have for me! Even though I cannot stand the overpowering scent and I am not crazy about the greasy feeling this leaves, I would without a doubt continue repurchasing and I highly recommend checking it out if you’re battling dry, chapped cuticles or flaky skin! :)

Have you tried Lemony Flutter before? What do you think of it? Which is your favorite cuticle treatment?

Lots of love,
