Monthly Beauty Favorites

Hello everyone, hope you are all well! First and foremost, can you believe it’s almost August now? It’s crazy; the time is flying by way too fast and I almost forgot to do my monthly favorites because I had the feeling we’re still at the beginning of July… Since the month has passed by so quickly I barely have any new beauty products that I’ve been loving but I still have a few which were my best friends during July. I’ve already done posts on most of them so make sure you check them out if you want to see swatches and more in-depth reviews. Hope you enjoy! (:

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation

Starting off with the base, I’ve actually been alternating a lot between Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation (review here) and MaybellineDream Fresh BB (review here) cream. I love them both and they are great for the summertime because they are really lightweight. Since I had some minor breakouts during July though I needed a bit more coverage so Chanel Vitalumiere came to the rescue! :) It covers any spots or hyperpigmentation really nicely (I still like to put some concealer on top though); it evens out my skin tone and gives the prettiest dewy glow to my face. It instantly gives me that pick-me-up boost and I love how healthy my skin looks when I’m wearing this foundation. It applies really easily (I use just my fingertips) and stays on all day! I totally recommend you checking this miracle worker if you haven’t already because it’s seriously amazing! :)

MAC Woodwinked

If you remember my last High End Beauty Haul, I showed you that I got this gorgeous eye shadow from MAC and it’s called Woodwinked. This prettiness in a pan has been recommended to me on Twitter by so many girls that I had to get my hands on it and I’ve been wearing it non-stop ever since. Woodwinekd is a beautiful warm brown shade with lovely golden shimmer in it. I love to wear it all over the lid and I absolutely adore how it makes my eyes pop. I have green eyes but I’m pretty sure this shade will compliment any eye color because it’s so versatile, yet unique at the same time. I really love the golden particles in this eye shadow because they catch the light beautifully and make the look absolutely stunning and whimsical.

Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet

Even though I just recently got this lovely Bourjois Cream Blush, it has quickly become one of my all time favorite blushes so I had to include it in this post. If you still haven’t tried these babes let me tell you that they have amazing formula. Basically they are cream blushes but dry to a lovely powder finish. At the same time though, they still give a beautiful healthy glow to the skin.  They are very long lasting and stay on my face for about 7-8 hours, which is amazing. There are four shades available so I am pretty sure you’ll be able to find at least one that will suit your skin tone. I picked up the shade 01 Nude Velvet, which is a gorgeous light peachy color. It brightens up my complexion beautifully and makes me look fresh and awake. I definitely recommend checking these cream blushes out because they are brilliant products and are also pretty affordable. (:

Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti

I was wondering which Revlon Lip Butter should I include in this post because I’ve been obsessed with both Tutti Frutti (review here) and Lollipop. I absolutely adore both of them and they are incredible. Since I just recently got Lollipop I figured that Tutti Frutti has earned its own mention because I’ve been wearing it a lot during July. :) It is a beautiful bright tangerine color, which is just perfect for the summertime. I love how vibrant it is and not to mention that I’ve recently been loving rocking orange lippies! <3 Tutti Fruitti is really opaque, it’s super creamy and moisturizing and it has amazing staying power (around 5 hours). I can honestly sit there and praise the Revlon Lip Butters all day, so my suggestion is to just go ahead and get your hands on one of these gems if you haven’t already because they are a.m.a.z.i.n.g!

Models Own Coral Reef

Last but not least, I couldn’t fail to mention one of my favorite nail polishes this month and it is Models Own Coral Reef (review here). I’m sure that by now you’ve all heard about my obsession with Essie Cute as a Button but I decided to give it a little break because I know I’ll wear it non stop during my holiday in August and I didn’t want to get tired of it. Instead, I was painting my nails (a lot!) with Coral Reef, which is a beautiful orange-y coral shade that changes its color depending on the lighting and tends to look like blood orange sometimes. Coral Reef (the name <3) has a decent formula and it is not its strongest side but my love for the color is so strong that I don’t really care haha. If you are on a hunt for a new summer-r shade, I definitely think that Coral Reef is a good bet and you should definitely check it out! :)

Overall, I can say that July hasn’t been the most exciting month beauty wise, but I still managed to find some lovely products and I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. I’d love to know which have been some of your favorite products this past month so please let me know in the comments below. :) Have a wonderful August everyone and may it be full of positive emotions and lots of reasons to smile!

Lots of love,

Drugstore Beauty Haul: Revlon, Sleek, Bourjois and More

Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop

Bourjois and Sleek blushes

Hello pretties, how are you? Hope you had a fab, sunny weekend! I personally had some strange few days full of both very positive and very negative emotions so I am rather excited for the start of the new week and I hope that it will bring me more reasons to smile! :) Yesterday I realized that I totally forgot to do a drugstore beauty haul of the items I recently got and since I adore them so much already, I had to do one asap! I got some lovely bits from Revlon, Sleek, Boujrois, Rimmel and Palmer’s and I hope you’ll enjoy! <3

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze

I had to start with the most exciting product of them all and it is this lovely gradual tanning moisturizer from Palmer’s. I think I’ve mentioned this before but I am actually terrible (terrible!) at applying self-tanners and I am always on a hunt for the perfect natural looking, yet easy to apply body bronzer. After reading tons of reviews online and asked for suggestions on Twitter, I came to the conclusion that my best bet has to be this Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze. I’ve already used it twice and I am seriously impressed. It is basically a gradual self tanner, which you apply either every night (which seems way too extreme for me) or whenever you feel the need of more tanned skin. This stuff applies really easily and streaky-free and it looks amazingly natural and not orange! One thing that bothers me though is the scent – it has this strong artificial cookie smell (with distant hints of your typical self tanners), which unfortunately lingers for quite a while… Regardless, I highly recommend this gem to anyone who is looking for the perfect ‘at home’ self tanner because it really works miracles and my skin not only feels super hydrated but also looks very healthy and glow-y! <3

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Laquer in Celestial

I’ve been desperately wanting to get my hands on Celestial ever since the Rimmel Apocalips came out. You may know that I am a massive fan of the range and for me the Apocalips are hands down the launch of the year! Sadly though, they are still not available in my country so I had to order online and I could only trust Internet swatches on how the color would look like. From everything I’ve seen I fell completely in love in Celectial and since I placed my order I was anxiously anticipating for it to arrive. When I opened my package though, I was a bit disappointed with the shade because it looks much more dull and dark in person. It is quite dark, dusty brown pink shade and I’m afraid it doesn’t look very flattering on my skin tone. :( I still adore the formula though – it is insanely pigmented, applies easily and stays on for absolutely ages!

Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet

I finally got my hands on one of the recently so-raved-about Bourjois Cream Blushes. I got the shade 01 Nude Velvet, which is a gorgeous light peachy shade, which compliment my pale skin tone beautifully and gives my skin this instant pick me up brightening look. It gives a lovely glow to my face and I cannot recommend it enough. Although, if you have darker skin tone I think this might be a bit too pale for you, I’m afraid. Fear not though, there are three more fab shades to choose from and I’m sure you can find your perfect match. The Bourjois Cream Blushes apply like charm and have a nice cream-to-powder finish bit still give a pretty dewy glow, which is amazing. They stay on for some good 7-8 hours on me and I urge to go get you some of these because they are incredible! (:

Sleek Blush in Rose Gold

Keeping up with the blush theme, I also got this gorgeous blush by Sleek. This little beaut is a repurchase because I gave my other one to my best friend, who fell in love with it a while ago. RoseGold is my favorite Sleek blush and I just couldn’t live without it for longer! :) It is a beautiful warm peachy-pink, which has beautiful finely milled golden shimmer it in and gives my skin a gorgeous sun-kissed glow. Even though it has very distinct shimmer in it, it won’t make you look like a disco ball and it looks pretty natural I’d say. I love how this blush brightens up my complexion and makes my cheeks look radiant. Rose Gold is a famous dupe for NARS Orgasm so if you’re not feeling like spending $29 for a blush, this is a great alternative. It applies easily and the staying power is decent. It’s really pigmented and I highly, highly recommend you go swatch it because I’m sure you’ll fall in love with it! <3

Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop

Last but definitely not least, I got this absolutely stunning lip butter from Revlon in the shade Lollipop. I honestly don’t know how to make a short description of it because I absolutely ADORE it and I can ramble about it all day haha! Lollipop is the most beautiful bright fuchsia pink color with some lovely fuschia and silver shimmer in it. It is a cool toned shade and we all know how much a love my blue toned lippies! <3 Lollipop compliments my skin amazingly and I think it’s safe to say that it built up its place as my number one lip product, even though I’ve had it for just a few days (sorry MAC Rebel!). It is super pigmented and definitely more opaque than my other Revlon Lip Butters. It has a gorgeous glossy finish and it’s so creamy and hustle-free to apply. Lollipop is really moisturizing and stays on my lips for about 3 hours, but you still can see a bit of a tint left on the lips, which is fab! Needless to say that if you are into more bright and vivid lip colors Lollipop is a must have and you definitely need it in your life! :)

Thank you so much for reading beauties! I really hope you enjoyed this post and definitely let me know if you want me to do a full review of any of these products! :) Have a wonderful day everyone!

Have you tried any of these products? What do you think of them?

Lots of love,

Good morning dolls! Recently I’ve been battling some serious insomnia so I got up super early today but figured that regardless my tiredness I want to do a blog post for you guys. A product that has been on my ‘to review’ list for ages has been the YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm in #2 Dewy Papaya, so get excited because its turn finally came! :)

I am pretty sure that by now you’ve all heard about the infamous YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks, which almost every beauty blogger / guru raves about. They are brilliant, that’s for sure so when I saw that YSL have new Volupte line I instantly pick one product up. Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balms, as the name suggests, are basically sheer tinted lip balms and come in twelve different shades. The one I got is #2 Dewy Papaya because as we all now I am obsessed with orange-y lips. Dewy Papaya is described as ‘sheer peach’ shade, which may look a bit too bright and scary in the packaging but it goes on pretty sheer and gives just a little wash of color to the lips. It doesn’t have any shimmer or glitter in it and has a gorgeous glossy, juicy finish, which I adore. <3

As I said, being legit lip balms Volupte Sheer Candy are definitely not opaque and not very pigmented, so if you’re looking for something with more coverage I’m afraid these babes may not be for you. I feel like I say this in pretty much all my lip product reviews but these balms are not long lasting at all. They stay on my lips for about half an hour and then I need to reapply, which is quite annoying but at least I have a reason to pull out and admire the fab, luxurious packaging! :) This lip balm feels moisturizing initially but after a while (if it’s still there hah) my lips kind of feel a bit dry and tight. Since I have insanely dry lips it could be just me though, because my best friend says she finds it super hydrating? On a different note, Dewy Papaya applies like a charm and glides on super easily. It has a lovely cream, emollient texture, which feels so soft and smooth on the lips when applied. What I adore about this product, besides the shade, is its yummy fruity scent, which reminds me of exotic tropical islands and makes it great for the summertime!

In a nutshell, I’d say that Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balm in Dewy Papaya is a nice but definitely not great product. It is neither very moisturizing nor long lasting but its gorgeous summery shade and the fab packaging kind of make up for that a bit. However, I don’t know the price of $32/£23 could be justified and this is a lot of money for a tinted lip balm! If you’d like to treat yourself then you may consider getting this though, especially if you are a lip balm kind of gal. I don’t regret buying this because I still use it and I quite like it for the summer, but to be honest I won’t be getting any of the other Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Blams, for my they are just not living up to their high price tag.

Have you tried the YSL Volupte Sheer Candy Glossy Balms? How do you like them? Would you be getting any balms from this range? :)

Have a fab weekend beauties! <3

NOTD Models Own Coral Reef: Review and Swatches

Models Own Coral Reef nail polish swatches

Hello cupcakes! For some reason last night I couldn’t fall asleep because I was waaaay too excited about my trip to London in September. I will be going for a few days and I cannot wait to go makeup shopping and to get my hands on some beauty products that I’ve been lusting over recently and which are not available where I live. Please if you live or have been in London recently, let me know which stores I need to pay visit to because I don’t want to miss any haha! :)

While I’ve been staring at my ceiling with wide-open eyes, I decided I may as well get up and paint my nails. Looking through my collection the nail polish that caught my eyes was this beautiful shade from ModelsOwn – Coral Reef. I showed it to you in my Top 5 Summer Nail Polishes post and since I haven’t done a full review on it I figured it’s about time to do one.

Coral Reef (let’s have a moment for the lovely name ahh) is this gorgeous orange-y coral shade, which in direct sunlight reminds me of legit blood orange, which I love. I absolutely adore how bright and vivid this nail polish is and I think it is just perfect for the summertime. What I love about this color is that it could be used both on my nails and toes and if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you may know that I like to be all matchy-matchy haha. Coral Reef is the type of shade, which just brightens up your skin beautifully and kind of finishes off any summer outfit. Oh and it also looks fab when your hands are tanned. :) The polish has a nice cream finish and no shimmer or glitter in it. It dries to a nice glossy finish and I don’t feel the need to put topcoat on top. This nail polish is opaque and you need no more than two coats of it. When I don’t have the patience to wait for it to dry though I can easily go with only one layer.

As far as the formula goes, Coral Reef is okay. It applies easily and it’s not streaky but it takes sooo long to dry out, which annoys me to death! What I don’t really like about this nail polish (and any other Models Own polishes) is the brush. It is tiny! It’s so small and not very easy to work with, as you don’t have much control over the application. Apart from that, Coral Reef has a decent staying power and it usually stays on my nails for about three days. (:

If you are like me and you love rocking bright coral nails for the summer, Coral Reef is a must-have in your collection. The shade is absolutely stunning and I love it to pieces. Well, it can’t really steal the crown from Essie Cute as a Button as my most loved summer shade but it definitely comes second. <3

Have you tried Coral Reef before? Which is your favorite coral nail polish?

Lots of love,
