London Trip Beauty Essentials / Keep it Mini

London Trip Beauty Essentials

Good morning beauties! As I’ve mentioned a while ago, I will be going to London on September 7th for a week and I asked you if you’d like to see a packing post or something like that. A lot of you said yes so I figured it would be fun to show you some of the beauty products I will be taking away with me. Since I am planning on going shopping quite a bit in London, I will need a lot of room in my suitcase, so I better not pack a crazy lot! I don’t know about you guys, but I have an entire drawer full of minis and what better time to use them when going abroad? With that being said, I decided to devote this post to my top mini / travel size products and to guide you through them. I don’t know what it is but there is something so cute and adorable in a little, mini product and quite frankly I cannot wait to use all of these babies! :)

Firstly, let’s talk hair! As you may know, I highlight my hair so naturally it is quite dry and needs high maintenance. I never use the shampoos and conditioners, which we get in the hotels because let’s face it – they are not the best quality and I love taking good care for my hair. With that in mind, I decided to put in action my set of mini Macadamia products. Macadamia is hands down my favorite hair care brand and their products do such miracles to my hair. The first product I’ll be taking is their Rejuvenating Shampoo (review here), which has improved my hair so much since I’ve been using it. It makes it soft and silky; it hydrates and helps battle tangles. It also gives a nice volume and bounce to the hair. Amazing stuff and I highly recommend it! :) Next, we have the oh-so-famous Deep Repair Masque (review here). What can I say – this is the most incredible hair product I’ve tried in my life. I literally cannot live without it and I don’t think my hair can either! This masque makes my hair feel so smooth and soft, it makes it shiny, detangles it, and removes frizz as well as hydrates! What else can you wish for? <3 And of course to complete my hair routine I have to have some sort of oil with me. Since I only have a big bottle of my favorite Moroccan Oil, I decided to pack with me this mini Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. Even though I still prefer the Moroccan Oil, this little guy is also great for the hair. It helps tame down the frizz; helps with split ends, nourishes the hair and leaves it feel and look so healthy and shiny!

Moving on to body care, I decided to take with me a scrub, a shower cream and a body butter. Same as with the hair products, I don’t find hotel shower gels and body lotions to do the trick for me so I always like to bring some of my faves with me. For scrub, I couldn’t fail to pack my latest love – Soap &Glory’s The Scrub Of Your Life (review here). I adore how soft and smooth this product makes my skin. It removes the dead skin brilliantly without feeling harsh or abrasive. It smells divine and doesn’t dry out the skin. Definitely give it a go because it’s seriously good stiff. :) For shower cream I had to take away with me my favorite one by The Body Shop and it’s their Coconut Shower Cream. It not only smells like yummy coconuts but it also cleanses the skin amazingly, leaving it feel soft and moisturized, which is exactly what I look for in a shower cream. Of course, I had to take the matching body butter as well and it is TBS Coconut Body Butter (review here). This is my all time favorite body butter as it smells incredible and at the same time it moisturizes my skin amazingly. Once the product is fully absorbed into the skin it will feel soft as a baby’s bum so be careful - you will be stroking yourself all day haha!

Last but not least, we need to take good care of our face so I have prepared four products, which I think will help me survive through my London journey. Firstly, there is this Clinique 7 Day Scrub Cream. It is very gentle on the skin and feels as if you’re not using scrub at all. However, it does a brilliant job at exfoliating and getting rid of rough / flaky skin, leaving it feel refreshed and polished. For cleanser, I’m thinking of getting my favorite Perricone MD Nutritive Cleanser (review here), which is incredible! It removes every last bit of makeup left and gives you the feeling of super clean, fresh skin. It balances the oils of the skin so I have never experienced tightness or dryness after using this. For makeup remover as well as toner, I love to have a bottle of Bioderma no matter where I go so when I saw this little baby bottle (how cute is it!) I had to pick it up. Bioderma is my favorite skincare product because it really works miracles at cleansing and toning the skin. I will do a proper review on it soon so keep your eyes peeled if you’re interested. Another product without I won’t leave my house without is the Avene Thermal Spring Water spray (review here). This miracle worker is great to use for so many things but mostly I love spraying it all over my face before applying moisturizer and also to set my makeup. It works wonders! Lastly, we can’t go abroad without a good moisturizer so what I have here is my favorite Benefit TotalMoisture Facial Cream. It does exactly what it says on the lid – it gives the skin total moisture and makes the skin feel ridiculously hydrated and soft. It doesn’t feel too heavy and doesn’t leave oily residue, which is fab! It’s love and if you’re on a hunt for a new cream this is definitely worth considering! (:

Well, that’s all for today lovelies. I feel like I said ‘soft’, ‘smooth’ and ‘hydrated’ at least a hundred times in this post but what can I do… I like having these three benefits in my beauty products. :) Also, please, please leave me your suggestions on where I should go shopping whereas I’m in London! I don’t want to miss out on anything so your help would be much appreciated, thank you! <3

Well hello, hello loves! How was your weekend, hope you had a lovely time? I finally arrived at the seaside and so far I’m having a blast! I’m trying to relax as much as possible and to catch up on some of my favorite reads. :) While I was packing for this trip, I had a look into my makeup collection and decided to take two nail polishes with me. The obvious one is Essie Cute as a Button (review here) and the other one is this gorgeous shade by OPI. I love them both for the summer and I figured that since I still haven’t reviewed this one, now it’s a good time to do so.

Party In My Cabana has a very special place in my life because I connect it with some amazing memories (am I the only one who does that?) and I really cherish it greatly. For starters, how adorable is the name?! It’s so summery and happy. It reminds me of the amazing beach-y summer evening we all know and love! :) Apart from that, the beautiful muted pink shade is right up my street and actually could be worn all year round, I feel like. I know it’s nothing special and we’ve all seen this shade before in many other brands and collections but I still adore it. I like how it looks on my cool-toned skin but I am pretty sure it would look even prettier on worm-toned girls. I know it’s pretty hard to find a nice pink polish that compliments wormer tones but I believe that this one is a great option. There isn’t any shimmer or glitter in the polish and it has a beautiful creamy finish. It is really glossy and I don’t need to apply top coat to get it as shiny as I like.

As far as the formula goes, Party In My Cabana is perfect. It is not watery, as some of my other OPI nail polishes and it’s just perfect and so easy to apply. It is not gloopy and it glides on the nail like charm. The brush is the standard OPI brush, which is not my favorite (I prefer Essie’s) but it works and prevents from streaking. Party In My Cabana is very opaque and you can get away with just one coat but I like to go with two, just in case. :) The staying power is also wonderful – it lasts for some good 5-6 days on me without chipping and with teeny tiny tip wear. Oh, forgot to mention that the polish dries out really fast and it’s completely hustle-free.

In a nutshell, Party In My Cabana is all rounder for me. The shade is lovely and would suit everyone, plus it’s a great alternative to the typical bright pink, which makes it much more classy and elegant. The formula is lovely as well and the staying power is impressive! If you are an OPI gal and you’re on a hunt for a new asset in your collection, than I can recommend Party In My Cabana with all my heart. Have a great week everyone! <3

Have you tried Party In My Cabana before? Do you enjoy using it?

Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush / Review and Swatches

Good morning sweets and Happy Friday! As you are reading this I’ll be on my way to the seaside and should be pretty happy and excited! Some of you have asked me if I will continue posting while I’m away and the answer is yes! I have scheduled some posts and I will still be writing from the hotel, because I can’t imagine not blogging for such a long time. :)  As for today, I really wanted to finally sit down and review my newest love – Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush ($44). This little beaut was a Birthday gift from my boyfriend and I have been obsessed with it recently.

The blush comes in one of the typical velvety pouches, which I don’t use that often but they come in handy if you carry around the product in your bag and you don’t want it to get scratched or something. The packaging is really pretty and luxurious. It has this gorgeous silver mirrored (SO hard to photograph!) lid and when you open it you have the blush on the left side, a brush and a large mirror. I feel like the brush takes too much room and I’d much more prefer the actual blush was bigger but oh well… I don’t typically use the brushes that come in the powders / blushes but this one is pretty adequate and it would do the trick if you’re on the go. I love that it has the Dior logo embedded on it; this just gives me that extra luxury feel. The mirror, as I said, is huge which is always a plus.

Dior Rosy Glow Awakening Blush comes in only one shade – 001 Petal. In the pan it looks like this beautiful (almost scary bright) cool-toned pink shade but the cool thing about this product is that it actually adapts to your skin tone and enhances its natural color. It is supposed to compliment any skin tone so if you think you don’t suit pink blushes, think twice! :) Such an amazing concept, isn’t it! To be honest, initially I was a bit scared how it would look on me but when I tried it I fell in love. It is definitely not as bright as it looks in the pan and gives just a lovely flush of color, which indeed looks really natural and pretty. What I adore the most about this blush though, is that it really brightens up my entire face and makes me look awake and super healthy.

The formula of this babe is incredible as well. The blush is really creamy and doesn’t look cakey or flakey. It is really pigmented and applies like charm! The powder has really smooth and soft texture and feels almost hydrating. It blends really well into the skin and stays on literally all day long, which is amazing! Also, if you love rose-scented products you will love this! It has a very subtle (definitely not overpowering) non-artificial rosy scent to it, which I adore and I’ve caught myself opening the lid sometimes just to sniff it haha! <3

The only down side to Rosy Glow is the price. It’s pretty steep, I know, but if you are willing to pay more for a blush this is the one to go for in my opinion. It will give you the so called “your cheeks but better” look, which is so healthy and natural. I love that this product gives lovely healthy glow to my skin and makes me look so fresh, while brightens up my complexion beautifully. It’s love, that’s for sure!

Have you tried Rosy Glow before? How do you like it? Do you know any dupe for it? :)

Lots of love,
