I know it’s waaay too early for this but I actually cannot wait for the spring to grace us with its presence! I miss the sunshine, the smell of blooming flowers and the lovely walks in the park without tons of layers on. Apart from that though, I really miss being able to rock brighter lip and nail polish colors. At this point I am almost fed up with the darker, vampy shades and I fancy a change. With that said, last week I went through my nail polish stash in the hopes of finding a color that is still winter-appropriate but at the same time has that tiny bit of spring vibe in it. And I found it –Essie No Boundaries!
No Boundaries is described as ‘juicy passionate plum’ and I absolutely adore it. It is not your typical hot pink shade and I like that the pink is a bit muted and not as vibrant, which makes it great for all seasons. No Boundaries has cool undertones in it and it is a beautiful cream with no glitter or shimmer in sight. What I’ve found about the shade, is that it tends to change its color depending on the lighting. On natural daylight it is more of a dusty rose color and when it’s darker the shade leans more towards light plum. Can you ever get bored of such unique shade? I definitely cannot.
Let’s put it that way – the formula of No Boundaries is not its strongest feature. It’s not terrible but runny nail polishes always bug me and with this one you really need to be extra careful, otherwise your cuticles won’t be happy with you, if you know what I mean. The tiny brush also doesn’t really help with the application but what can you do… Apart from that, the polish is not streaky and all you need is two thin layers to get it fully opaque. Thankfully, No Boundaries dries pretty quickly and it lasts on my nails for some good five days. Also, I absolutely love the gorgeous high-shine finish the polish gives to my tips – no need of top coat here. Lovely.
If you are like me and you kind of want to start using brighter shades again but you feel like it’s too soon – No Boundaries will come to the rescue. It is an ideal transition shade between winter and spring and let me tell you – its stunning deeper pink color will steal your heart and will postpone the craving for bolder, vivid nails. For now.
