Hello ladies! I hope you all had a fantastic
weekend and are ready for the third installment of my Five Beauty Tips and Tricks To Remember series (see the first two posts
here and here). The posts went down rather well, so I am really excited to share
some new tips that you should really consider adding to your beauty routine. So
grab a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the tricks that will help your skin stay
clear, your hair be more luscious and your nail polish dry faster.
When To Wash Your Face
Starting off with the very best beauty tip
that I have ever received – washing your face after you rinse off your shampoo and conditioner. I used to always wash
my face before shampooing and conditioning my hair, which recently resulted in
having some strange red bumps around my temples. Apparently, I was doing it all
wrong and the right way to do it is to wash your skin after you rinse off every
last bit of hair care product. This will prevent you from having buildup
product on your face and will help the skin stay clear. Ever since I started
doing this, my skin has cleared up SO much and I no longer have to worry about
hairline breakouts. Brilliant advice!
Keep Your Phone Clean
Keeping with the tips for clearer skin, a
great thing to do is clean your phone with isopropyl alcohol at least once
every two days. Just pour tiny bit of
alcohol onto a cotton pad or a Q-tip, squeeze out the excess and apply to the
surface of your phone. Then, using a gentle cloth wipe clean the phone and you
are done! This will kill all the bacteria the phone collects throughout the day
and will prevent you from getting breakouts around your cheeks and mouth.
Simples.
Overnight Hair Treatment
The way I keep my thirsty strands happy? Once
every two weeks I like to do an overnight hair treatment by leaving my
conditioner on for the night. I just shampoo my hair and apply my conditioner
from my ears down (otherwise my roots will get greasy) and comb through. Then I
put my hair up in a plastic cap and wrap it in a towel. This will prevent the
conditioner getting on my pillow and potentially breaking me out. In the
morning, I rinse off the conditioner and my hair feel incredibly moisturized
and silky soft. This technique is my favorite when it comes to nourishing my
locks and I absolutely adore how smooth, hydrated and shiny my hair gets! Definitely
try this if you struggle with dry, knotty hair!
Clean Your Hot Tools
Have you ever noticed that your straightening
or curling iron isn’t working as good as it used to? Don’t get all panicky,
thinking that the end of their days has come; the reason may be just that the
tool is dirty and has some product buildup. This often results in incomplete
straightening/curling, uneven heating and even hair damage, so you need to make
sure your tool is clean. Basically, all you need to do is heat up the tool,
then turn it off (you also want to make sure it’s unplugged) and wait until it gets
warm to the touch (not hot!). Then pour some alcohol or warm water onto a soft towel
and start rubbing the tool until it’s fully clean. Voila!
Dip Your Nails in Cold
Water
I hate to wait my nail polish to dry, so a quick
and easy thing to do is to dip your freshly painted nails into a cup of ice-cold
water. As strange as it sounds, it actually really does work because the nail
polishes tend to dry faster when they encounter cool temperature. Just submerge
your nails under the cold water, leave them in for about two minutes and you
are done!
Have you tried any of these
tips before? How do they work for you? Which is your top beauty tip?
