There is only one thing better than finding an incredible high-end beauty product that works wonders and leaves you absolutely smitten. And for me this very thing is definitely finding a cheaper alternative of this beloved product - only for a fraction of the prize! Having said that, recently I’ve found some brilliant ‘dupes’ for some of my more expensive beauty gems and thought I’d share them with you! So if you fancy getting amazing results but don’t want to splash out – keep on reading!
GlamGlow Supermud Mask vs. Superfacialist Deep Clean Pore Purfying Clay Mask
Starting off with the most amazing dupe discovery – ladies and gentlemen meet the drugstore alternative of the so hyped-up (and so incredibly pricey) GlamGlow Supermud mask (here) – the Superfacialist Clay Mask (here). If you’ve read my review of GlamGlow (here) you know that for me this is hands down the most incredible face mask! Its instant mind-blowing results left me absolutely besotted and highly impressed. The mask works wonders in clearing up the deeper layers of the skin by pulling out all gunk and excess oil that I may have. Since using it, my skin cleared up SO much and I no longer have problem with white / black heads and breakouts are nowhere to be found. Sounds fab doesn’t it? Well don’t worry, as I am here to tell you that the results of the Superfacialist Clay Mask come pretty damn close to the GlamGlow ones. Same as with the high-end version, the drugstore clay mask mask works amazing job at declogging the skin and battling breakouts and I can definitely see that my skin is definitely clearer, softer and smoother after using it. My pores appear smaller and the nasty black / white heads are not an issue anymore. The main difference between the two masks though is that the Superfacialist one shows its amazing results with continuous use, whereas GlamGlow improves the skin in literally ten minutes. Apart from that, I can honestly say that they work almost identical and the drugstore version is actually gentler so why splash out? From now on, I will continue using the clay mask on a weekly basis and save GlamGlow for some special occasions.
Dior Crème de Rose Lip Balm vs. Soap & Glory A Great Kisser Lip Balm
As any dry-lip sufferer out there would agree, using a good moisturizing lip balm is essential, so when I first heard about the miraculous properties of this Dior Crème de Rose lip balm (here), I knew I had to get involved. And it didn’t disappoint – it makes my lips super soft, smooth and hydrated. It even makes them a little bit more plump, which is incredible. The price tag, however, is a bit too much in my opinion, especially when we have in mind that the balm runs out pretty quickly. Luckily, I found a dupe for this lip savior and it is this A Great Kisser lip balm by Soap & Glory (here). Not only the price is significantly lower but the formula of the balm is actually very similar to the Dior one. It melts on the lips beautifully and makes them feel very soft and incredibly moisturized. It also makes them look fuller and the Soap&Glory balm even comes in four different scents, which are all delicious. Both products are on the thicker side of things and have that ‘waxy’ feel to them, but I’ve got to admit that the Soap&Glory offering is a bit sticky, which might put some of you off. Regardless, I think that if you want to keep your pout beautiful and chapped-free you don’t really need to splurge – A Great Kisser will definitely make your lips finally feel comfortable and juicy! It’s love!
NARS Orgasm vs. Sleek Rose Gold
I’m sorry NARS Orgasm (here), bad news – I found a dupe for your gorgeous shade and it comes from Sleek with their Rose Gold blush (here). Orgasm (review here) is one of NARS’ best selling blush shades and with good reason – it is absolutely gorgeous and I am obsessed with it! I adore its warm coral-y pink shade and the beautiful golden shimmers in the blush are incredibly pretty and give the face the most beautiful dewy finish. Sleek, however, did a brilliant job at creating the perfect drugstore alternative to Orgasm, which is great news if you are on a budget. Rose Gold (review here) is virtually identical to the NARS offering, only less pink. Ironically, the Sleek formula appeals to me more as the blush is a bit creamier and I find it blends easier. Orgasm’s staying power is a bit better and the blush wears for an hour or two longer but in both cases we are still talking over six hours, so I am not complaining. Both blushes are beautifully pigmented and add stunning healthy glow to the skin. If you love the shade of these beauts as much as I do and think of getting one of them, I would honestly say go for Sleek – less of a dent in your purse and a better formula! It’s a win-win!
Have you tried any of these products before? Which is your favorite dupe find?
