Subtle eye makeup, natural blush and bold, bright lip. Yes, that is my ideal makeup look and what you can spot me wearing the most. However, sometimes I like to channel my inner Kim Kardashian and rock the smokey eye, paired with a pretty nude lippie. My favorite partner in crime for those occasions is Hue by MAC (here). Being my first ever MAC purchase, this gem has a special place in my heart and for a good reason – it is beautiful, the formula is lovely and it finishes off any look perfectly.
One of MAC’s cult lipstick shades, Hue definitely has a lot to bring to the table. It is the most beautiful pink-y nude I own and I absolutely adore its subtle sheen-y cream finish. Something that I’ve noticed with Hue is that it looks slightly different in the bullet than it does on the lips, so it is definitely worth swatching. Hue is one of those shades, which transfers on everyone’s lips a bit differently. On my rather pigmented lips it appears more pink-y and just tones down my natural lip color a bit. It is a pretty classic and universal shade and in my opinion it would compliment any skin tone beautifully. Hue is so feminine and sophisticated and is a great companion for any occasion. Be it an important meeting or a night out – this beaut has got you covered.
The formula of this lippie is amazing. Being a Glaze, it offers medium coverage and stunning sheen-y finish. Hue glides on the lips effortlessly and feels buttery soft on. This is pretty much the only MAC lipstick I own that doesn’t dry out my lips and it definitely deserves thumbs up for that! Hue stays on for about two hours, which is not ideal but I honestly don’t mind reapplying throughout the day. The only bug bear about this lipstick is that it does accentuate imperfections and could look a bit patchy. If you give your lips a good exfoliation (read all about my lip scrub techniques here) beforehand though – you will be all good and you’ll have beautiful juicy and even pout. Simples.
If you are all about a good nude lippie or you are like me and fancy a change from the bolder lip choices, then you need to go and get involved with Hue. Go and swatch it and I am sure you will be smitten – it’s love.
Have you tried Hue before? How do you like it? Which is your favorite nude lipstick?
Lots of love,
