I don’t know if it’s just me but I always go through phases with my nail polish obsession. When I like a certain color it would be pretty much glued to my nails until I get deadly bored of it. Well recently the color I seem to not be able to part with is blue. Royal blue, cobalt blue, navy blue, aqua blue – you name it! The particular shade I’m loving at the moment though is Essie’s cornflower blue offering – Bikini So Teeny (here). Its soft, light blue color with a pinch of purple is the ideal companion for the spring and summer and it reminds me of blue sky, sunshine and beaches. It is one of those polishes that just makes you happy and you just cannot say ‘no’ to. The gorgeous finely milled silver shimmer running through the cream polish is the perfect touch, as it reflects the light beautifully and creates very subtle sheeny finish. Bikini So Teeny is classy but at the same time is unique and fun. It never fails to make an impression and I cannot wait to see how it would look when I have some tan on.
The formula of this beauty is far from perfect but it gets the job done and it’s not too faff-y. I find that Bikini So Teeny tends to be a bit streaky and you need about three thin coats to get it even and fully opaque. Luckily, the polish dries really fast so it’s not all that bad. It has beautiful glossy finish and the lovely medium-sized brush covers the nail in one swipe and allows great control over the application. Bikini So Teeny stays on my nails for about two / three days without chipping or tip wear, which is not ideal but with topcoat on it doesn’t budge for some good five days.
If you fancy stepping out of your comfort zone or are sick of wearing the same old pinks and corals – Bikini So Teeny is a great starting point. It’s different, it’s happy and cheerful and the stunning blue is oh-so-perfect for the warmer months. The formula may not be brilliant but I honestly don’t even care as the shade just captured my heart and I won’t look back!
Have you tried Bikini So Teeny? How do you like it? Which is your favorite blue nail polish?
Lots of love,
