|Left to Right: MAC Concrete, NYX Haywire, Urdban Decay Streak, Rimmel Kate 16|
Fancy saving some pennies? Well you’ve come to the right place. Since my first Dupe List post (here) went down rather well, I dug through my stash and found new brilliant drugstore alternatives to some of my favorite high-end bits. If you want to add some amazing makeup products to your collection without breaking the bank, keep reading!
The oh-so-famous YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch highlighting pen (here) has been my under eye dark circles’ worst enemy for the past two years. It completely erases them in such a natural way and the dullness is long gone. Touche Éclat brightens up the whole area and adds gorgeous radiance to the face. I use it both as under eye concealer and highlighter and the results are amazing. It is not the most budget-friendly product out there though but fear not – I found a great high street dupe for it. Meet the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch highlighting concealer (here). It has the same concept as Touche Éclat and the results are almost identical. The only difference is the color – the YSL offering has stronger salmon-y undertones, which counteracts the darkness better but to be honest Dream Lumi conceals brilliantly as it is, so it is all good. Apart from that, it highlights beautifully and is perfect if you fancy adding some light to your complexion. Love. It.
MAC eye shadows are weakness for my beauty-loving heart but they are not the cheapest on the market. Luckily NYX do some fab ones as well and when the colors match with the MAC ones, well I think I’d prefer not to splurge. For my surprise, recently I discovered that one of my favorite colors from MAC - Concrete (here) has an almost exact alternative in the NYX counter in the form of the shade Haywire (here). Now they do look slightly different in the pan, as Concrete appears darker but when applied on the lids they are virtually the same gray-tinted brown shade, which makes the best smokey eye companion. They both blend beautifully and have incredible pigmentation. I find that Concrete has creamier texture and stays on a bit longer but that’s to be expected. If you love the shade though, I’d say go for Haywire – it is only fraction of the price and it still has pretty incredible formula.
Okay we all know how much I adore the Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Streak (here) and when I realized that I have an exact dupe for it in my lipstick stash I dropped my jaw. Yes, that’s right – not an alternative but an exact dupe! Say hello to the Rimmel Lasting Finish Kate in 16 (here). Both lippies have the same gorgeous bright peach with pink undertones shade, they have the same semi-matte finish, the same subtle sheen running through them, the same hydrating, long lasting formula. Same. Same. Same. The only difference I could possibly find is that the UD offering is ever so slightly creamier and softer but that’s about it! They are virtually the same product but from two different price ranges. My final verdict? Get the Rimmel one and treat yourself to one of the other stunning shades from the UD Revolution line – they are divine.
