Hello ladies! So I went shopping. We all know how the story goes… I managed to get a bunch of products we all know I don’t need but they were just so beautiful that I couldn’t help it. I got carried away with lip stuff (as usual) and at this point I think I need help haha. Anyway, without further ado, let’s get haulin’.
The NYX counter always sucks me right in and this time was no exception. After falling completely head over heels in love with their Butter Glosses (review here), I decided to treat myself to a new lip gloss and it was their Mega Shine Lip Gloss in La La (here). It is this gorgeous bright medium pink with lovely finely milled silver shimmer running through it. The pigmentation is mind-blowing for a lip gloss and I love how well it applies – no streaks or bold patches. But wait, it gets even better – La La feels so buttery and soft on the lips and is not sticky in the slightest! I don’t know how you do that NYX, but very well done! Well, maybe I am becoming slightly lip gloss obsessed. Who knew that’s possible!
Keeping the lip theme, the next item I got was this beautiful NYX Matte Lipstick in Indie Flick (here). I’ve heard incredible stuff about this range and I am happy to report that it didn’t disappoint. Incredible pigmentation, easy to apply, extremely long lasting – all check! The lippy could be slightly drying though but after a good exfoliation and with some balm underneath it’s all good. Indie Flick is an absolutely stunning, bright orange-y red and I love how it livens up my face. If you are into bold lips for the summertime, this gem will float your boat – I love it.
I’ve had the NYX Stick Blush in Pink Lotus (here) on my wishlist for ages and this time I couldn’t walk away without it. This cream blush in stick form is not only cute to look at but it also has lovely formula. The color pay-off is amazing and you only need the tiniest amount to get full blown color, it hangs around for absolute ages and it doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. The blush could feel a bit drying at first but when blended into the skin it feels lovely. It doesn’t apply patchy or uneven and you don’t need to worry about it looking cakey or disturbing your base. Have in mind that the packaging on the stick could be quite deceiving and Pink Lotus is not a coral-y peach. It is a stunning cool toned pink with teeny tiny shimmers in the blend. I love how it compliments my skin tone and the way it brightens up my complexion is incredible.
I added two new members to the cheek products family. Starting off with the product with the most beautiful packaging in the world – Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Rose (here). I won’t be giving too much away as a review of this beauty is coming your way soon but let’s just say that I am absolutely smitten. This blush has everything on my blush checklist sorted and we are having a love affair at the moment! It’s summer and I need some color on my face, so I decided to get a bronzer that is literally the size of my head to help me with that haha. Meet the NYC Big Bold Bronzing Powder in ManhaTan (here). We bonded straight away and I find it perfect for days when I fancy adding some color and warmth into my face. The lovely matte golden bronze shade is a fair lady’s best friend and even though it is on the warmer side of things it doesn’t go orange in any way. It blends beautifully and the pigmentation is spot on. It definitely gets my stamp of approval so far.
I love me a good chubby stick and if it promises 3D volume effect, well I am sold. Needless to say that this lovely Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Fuchsia-Ristic (here) captured my interest immediately and as a good lipstick addict I had to add it to my stash. Now I have to say that this product just didn’t do it for me sadly. When swatched on my hand it is a nice pink-y shade (despite the bright orange color in the bullet) but on my lips it goes super sheer and it is almost undetectable. The stick applies well and feels soft and moisturizing but I find it a tad sticky, which I am not crazy about either. Oh and also - no volume or plumper looking lips. Not impressed. I think Fuchsia-Ristic will have to sit on the bench for now.
Last but not least, my best friend (check out her incredible blog here) decided to surprise me with the new Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Rio Rush (here). Easily this is my favorite launch of the year so far. Gorgeous shade range? Check. Mind-blowing color pay-off? Check? Unique formula? Double check. These are just brilliant let me tell ya! For me they are a hybrid between lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm. They go extremely opaque, feel super moisturizing and buttery and hug every curve of the lips making the application a breeze. The only thing I have to say about them is that I wish they stayed on longer, as I get maximum two hour wear out of them. The fact that they are not sticky makes up for that in my mind though haha. Rio Rush captured my heart with its stunning bright fuchsia pink shade – I adore how vibrant it is. Such a beauty!
Have you tried any of these products? How do you like them? Is there anything exciting you’ve added to your makeup bag recently?
Lots of love,
