Sadly, I can tell that autumn is here not only by the color changing leafs but also from my lackluster skin. The colder weather is slowly but surely taking toll on my skin, so anything that adds faux glow is welcomed. And what better way to perk up my skin then calling my favorite coral-y peach illuminating blushes to the rescue. Here is a list of my most-loved and most-used cheek companions, which not only make my skin look luminous but are perfect for the fall season as well.
MAC Springsheen (here) is always a firm favorite when the colder weather rolls around. I love everything about its complexion-warming peachy pink shade and the subtle golden shimmer running through the blush is absolutely gorgeous and enhances the complexion instantly. Springsheen is one of those ‘suit everyone’ types of products and just gives beautiful pop of color without looking overdone. The formula is brilliant and the blush blends evenly without any accentuated dry patches or pores in sight. Pigmentation wise, this beauty rocks as it packs the right amount onto the brush, ensuring the super natural effect we all love. Springsheen wears for eight hours without fail, which makes it the perfect all-rounder. Swatches here and yay for one of my oldest posts lol.
If you notice a lil’ golden shimmer theme going on you are on the right track. I do love a bit of gold in my autumn blushes and the one that delivers the most on those counts is without a doubt Sleek Rose Gold (here). This is an oldie but a total goodie and it’s my product of choice when I really need some pick-me-up on the complexion front. The not-so-subtle shimmer really highlights the cheeks beautifully and as long as you apply it with light hand you won’t end up looking as if you’re headed to a fancy dress party. The stunning warm coral-y peach color is ideal for the season and promises to liven up the skin effortlessly. The glow-injecting formula is spot on and definitely measures up to the big, high-end boys. All the desired adjectives apply to Rose Gold and it is creamy, buttery, bendable, pigmented, long-lasting etc, etc. Review and swatches here.
You are probably aware of my raves of NARS Deep Throat (here) but I thought I’d throw a not-so-shimmery blush in the mix for a good measure. Deep Throat does looks kinda similar to Rose Gold in the pan but on the skin it’s a whole nuther story. It is a gorgeous dark coral shade and the very finely milled shimmer is almost undetectable. It just makes the complexion look dewy and almost as if it glows from within. Deep Throat makes the skin look seriously dreamy and leaves a veil of natural tint that warms everything up beautifully. It applies like a breeze and the pigmented, featherlight formula works a treat. Add this to your wish list ladies, it won’t disappoint!
Milani Luminoso (review here) is the complexion cheerleader we all need when our skin is looking dull and lifeless. It’s the ultimate skin brightener and my partner in crime when I need to add some oomph. It’s my favorite all-seasons-appropriate blush and I sport it all year round because of its universal, flattering peachy shade. Needless to say that the golden shimmer captures my heart every time and I just love how it catches the light in all the right places, making the skin look glowy, healthy and luminous. This beauty hangs around for hours and hours and blends so seamlessly into the skin. One quick swipe of the brush and there it is in all its glory. Love. It.
