For the A/W season the attention is on the
eyes and my preferred look definitely involves loads of drama and a touch of
color. Cranberry eyelids, thick eyeliner and big, voluminous lashes. Yes,
that’s pretty much my fall eye makeup sorted and I can’t wait to start sporting
the look more frequently. I will forever be a bold lipstick wearer but on days
when I fancy going nude on the lip front, the following trio will be keeping my
eyes a great company.
Cranberry / burgundy eye shadows have always
been my shade of choice when it comes to autumnal makeup and this Maybelline Color Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate (here) just rocks. I adore everything
about its stunning metallic burgundy shade that makes my green eyes pop and the
golden light-reflecting shimmer is such a lovely touch. If you’re not feeling
comfortable wearing red-based shadows, fear not as you can apply Metallic
Pomegranate more sheerly for a more muted, brown-y shade. I tend to wear this
beauty on its own for a swiftly added seasonal touch of color but you could
also pop some MAC Cranberry (here) eye
shadow on top to intensify the colors. The formula of Metallic Pomegranate is
downright incredible. It is creamy, pigmented, extremely long-lasting and
completely crease-proof. Love it.
Even since the Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner* (here) hit my doorstep I’ve been trying to nail the perfect winged
eyeliner with it. The concept behind the twist-up gel liner pen is simply brilliant,
as I do love a dash of good gel eyeliner, especially during the colder month. However,
I do find this one a bit hard to use when it comes to creating a thin line –
precision is not my greatest feature haha. Luckily, it’s all about the dramatic
eye makeup here, so I’ve been getting a lot of use out of this gem. It creates
the perfect thicker, more graphic a la Dita Von Teese winged eyeliner, which
dries matte, doesn’t budge for hours and is a beautiful jet black color. Gorgeous.
Now that the summer is behind us it’s time
for the natural looking lashes to step aside and make room for my beloved doll-eyelash
look. I love the look of the long, black fluttery lashes as they enhance the
look and make the eyes appear bigger and brighter. My favorite partner in crime
when it comes to dramatic eyelashes is the YSL
Shocking Mascara (here). It
definitely has ‘bold’ written all over it as it does separate beautifully, adds
tons of length and volume and holds curl for the day while making the hairs
look super rich in color. The formula of this baby is incredible as well and it
doesn’t clump or smudge and there is no smearing in sight. It’s the perfect more
dramatic option and if you’re looking for mascara that will magnify your
lashes, look this way.
Have you tried any of these
products before? Which one is your favorite?

I honestly completely forgot about that color tattoo--you're so right that now is the perfect time to break it out! For me, my favorite makeup look of this season has got to be vampy lips like MAC Diva.

Cranberry makeup is so pretty in Autumn! I also love wearing dramatic liner and doll-lashes when the weather becomes friskier. I personally love Tarte Camera, Lights, Flashes mascara, it is just incredible! Haven't tried this YSL yet but heard great things about it.

I haven't seen that Color Tattoo shade but it looks absolutely stunning! I've had a sample of the Push Up Liner, but it was a hard one to work with and I found it transferred up onto my lids all day :(
