Calling out all Instagram obsessed people
out there – it’s time we talk ways to up our photo game! I figured it’s about
time I took my Instagram addiction to the next level and dedicate a special
blog post for my top 5 photography editing apps. Be it for iPhone, iPad or
Android – I’ve got you covered! These five godsend tools have everything you’ll
ever need to create a picture worth a thousand (or five) likes. Let’s get started and if you fancy you can follow
me on IG here!
Say hello to my ultimate favorite – Aviary.
This little helper does everything you’ll ever need in a editing app, and a lot
more. It gives you full control over the effects; from easy ways to spruce up any
photo to offering plenty advanced features. You can make the photos more
vibrant and fun using the build-in effects Hi-Def,
Scenery, Food, Portrait and Night. Aviary also has a vast array of
gorgeous filters, as well as frames and stickers. My favorite part is that you
can actually eliminate redeye, fix blemishes and whiten your teeth. And if this
isn’t enough – you can adjust the brightness, contrast, sharpness and
saturation. And the best part? It’s free.
Get downloading ladies, it’s worth it!
When it comes to filters VSCO is definitely a
winner. It has more filters that IG has to offer and I absolutely love that you
can adjust the intensity of the filter as well. You can slap on the filter of
your choice for a swift umph or go for more in-debt editing with all the
essential tools. We are talking brightness, contrast, saturation, tint and much
more. Oh, and you’re able to import and export your image without budging the
quality and you can even straighten it, which I find that a lot of apps lack. Enjoy!
Now this baby I discovered recently but it
has quickly made its way into my top 5. Why? Because now we can upload our full
size photos to Instagram without the annoying cropping and cutting. And it
doesn’t sacrifice the quality either. Brilliant isn’t it! Instasize allows you
to add and overlay filters, text, stickers and backgrounds. Again, you can edit
the brightness, contrast etc. The cool thing about this app is that it makes
the collage-making a child’s play and you can put together fun and creating
collages and even add all sorts of frames if that’s your thing. Lovely.
If you are after getting airbrushed and
flawless skin in literally seconds, you’ve come to the right place and Visage
Lab is your best friend. This baby transforms any facial photo and helps you
get the perfect selfie. You can: (wait
for it) enhance skin & eye makeup, get rid of blemishes, whiten your
teeth, remove shine, smooth wrinkles and enhance colors while still looking
natural. Fab! I am not a massive fan
of the interface and the minor glitches but oh well. There are some filters
available for you to use and you can also see the original photo and all the corrections
you’ve made. Say bye to all your skin concerns ladies - Visage Lab is the
quickest way to perk up your skin and make you look ready and confident enough to
conquer the social media.
I have had so many questions, asking me what
I use to add those pretty light effects we all know and adore and here is the
answer – PicFX. This lovely app allows you to add brokeh, heats and flame
effects to your images, as well as play around with tons of different filters
and textures. You can go as dramatic or as delicate as you fancy and you can even
mix and match your filters, which I adore. PixFX gives you the opportunity to
use the same square aspect ratio as Instagram, which helps you see exactly how
your photo will look once it’s published. Love. It.
Have you tried any of these fantastic
editing apps? Which is your favorite app to help you perk up any photo and make
it IG-worthy?

Hey great advice! I also find an app called 'whitagram' handy when you want to do ootd shots because instagram always crops the bottom half of images off, but this app makes your whole body fit into the image size!

I use VSCO a lot now but I used to prefer Aviary a while back, both apps are amazing for editing and really easy to use! I also have Instasize and I think is very useful because the instagram square size can be a bit annoying sometimes! Great post :) xx
