Do you know what I love the most about A/W beauty? You guessed it – sporting the vampy lip trend on a daily basis and feeling really en vogue and in season for once. You can spot me wearing berry lipstick more often then it’s probably sensible but hey-ho. I love me the good old bold look and the confidence the dark lippies give me is worth the occasional weird looks my grandma likes to pay me. I have a breakdown of my all time favorite vampy lip companions and the list goes as follows:
If you are a long-time reader here on RosyChicc, this will come as no surprise – the star of the show today has got to be the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Sloane’s Plum (here). It ticks all the boxes and it gets twisted up and swiped on more then any other autumnal lippy I own. The gorgeous cool toned plum-y shade compliments my skin tone beautifully and whitens my teeth. It is daring but really sophisticated at the same time and I love how it perks up my skin in just one swipe. The creamy, non-drying formula is easily the best I’ve tried from the drugstore and you can read all about here.
The boldest option from the bunch comes from Revlon with their Colorburst Matte Balm in Shameless (here). I’ve recently raved about it and I am falling in love with it more and more every day. Its uber unique purple with fuchsia undertones shade is one of those colors that you either don’t quite get or you love for life and I we definitely bonded straight away. I adore the way it boosts my confidence and the fact that it is quite out there makes me love it even more. Shameless leaves you with a pout that wouldn’t look out of place in The Vampire Diaries but looks classy and chic at the same time. Total winner! The peppermint scent makes everything that much better and the rich formula and the velvet-y matte finish are all spot on. Full review and lip swatches here.
Oh the classics! It wouldn’t have been a post about my favorite vampy lipsticks without mentioning beauty bloggers’ cult A/W lippy – the Rimmel Kate Moss Matte in 107 (here & review here). The beautiful deep berry red shade captured my heart with the first application and its ‘bold-yet-feminine’ vibe makes it cold weather’s ideal company. 107 peps up all skin tones and brightens up any complexion effortlessly. The list of awesomeness continues and if you are a matte lippy kinda gal this gem will not disappoint. Formula wise, 107 delivers on all counts and I love its full-blown color pay off and the amazing six-hour wear. Add this to your wish list ladies!
I am cheating a bit here, as this leans more on the sheerer side of the spectrum but I figured that this Bourjous Color Boost Lip Crayon in Plum Russian (here) would be the perfect lippy for those of you who don’t fancy going too vampy but still want to dip your toe into the berry lip pool. This everyday-friendly lip crayon is all you would want in an autumn / winter lipstick, and more. Beautiful deep red plum shade? Check. Incredible color pay-off? Check. Soft and hydrating formula? Check. It’s gorgeous, I tell you! And the lovely juicy formula really floats my boat as well. It’s love. Review and lip swatches here.
