Spring Beauty Wishlist / Urban Retreat Beautique

Urban Retreat Boutique Wishlist

Online beauty shopping on a whole new level! Ladies and gentlemen, meet my new best friend – Urban Retreat Beautique. It is the place to shop all things luxurious and home to some of my all time favorite beauty brands. NARS, Laura Mercier, Bumble and Bumble, Hourglass – you name it! I’ve caught myself spending hours on their site, making mental wishlists and drooling over the incredible array of products. Having said that, I decided to get dreaming and finally put a real list of my top six picks from the site, which will be ideal for the upcoming spring.

Winter is almost over and so is my skin’s beautiful healthy glow. To try and combat that, face oil is the way to go. When I spotted my mum’s favorite skincare brand – La Prairie, I had to take a peek and here it was – their new Cellular Swiss Ice Crystal Dry Oil. It is supposed to seal the moisture within the skin and restore skin’s glow, smoothness and radiance. Brilliant! Now with the wormer months fast approaching, I always like to have a refreshing mist in my bag and this Omorovicza Queen of Hungary Mist sounds right up my street. Lovely fragrance and spray that ensures to keep my face hydrated and fresh during the day without budging my makeup? Count me in!

The other day I realized that I have waaay to much pink makeup and the peachy department has been left behind for a while. Breaking the curse, I decided to get some new peachy bits for the spring and my first pick is that Laura Mercier SecondSkin Cheek Color in Peach Whisper. It was a love of first sight – I adore the soft peach shade of this beauty and the formula is also known to be fab – non-chalky, super pigmented and long lasting. From swatches I’ve seen, Peach Whisper looks super brightening and awakening and I cannot wait for it to be mine ahh! You known I love to be matchy-matchy sometimes so to go with the blush, I couldn’t help myself but pick this NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Bolero. I adore this range from NARS – the pencils have stunning matte finish but are not too drying on the lips and last ages. They apply easily and the pigmentation is phenomenal. Bolero is described as ‘pink cantaloupe’ and I love how bright, yet subte it looks. So. Beautiful.

It’s not a wishlist if I don’t include a nail polish and the lucky winner for this one is a stunning coral-y peach – Haute As Hello by Essie. Vivid and eye-catching and think I’ve found my perfect spring / summer nail color. Having in mind that Essie’s formula is my ultimate favorite – I think I can’t really go wrong with this one. Hello Haute As Hello! Last but certainly not least, we have the very special Laura Mercier Crème de Pistache Soufflé Body Crème. Spring is coming, which means one thing – our skin is getting more exposure, so having flawless, soft and hydrated skin is in order and I’m sure that this gem will ensure that. Laura Mercier body moisturizers are downright amazing and their luxurious formula works wonders on the skin. When I sniffed Crème de Pistche a few months back I knew it has to be mine at some point. The amazing cocktail of roasted nuts is such a divine and sophisticated scent that will definitely boost my confidence. It’s love and an order will be placed shortly!

Have you tried any of these products? How do you like them? Is there anything that you drool over from Urban Retreat Beautique?

Lots of love,
Andrea

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm

Chanel Les Beiges and MUFE Full Cover

Pastel colors, colorful nails and bold, bright lips! Yes, March is right around the corner, which in my beauty-obsessed mind means spring trends and bye bye to the dark, deep shades! Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though – February is still here and I decided to make the most out of it by rocking my beloved vampy shades for the last time until fall. I think I also found my Holy Grail face cleanser, as well as dug out some new bits to help me achieve flawless base. It has been a good beauty month and if you want to hear all about my February most-loved, read on!

Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm

Note to self: ‘If you’ve read tons of positive reviews on a certain product, chances are – it is going to be as amazing as everyone says it is, so go get your mitts on it asap!’ Yes, if I’d known this earlier my skin would’ve been much happier then it was last year but who cares – the Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm is finally mine and I love every last bit of it! Being an inseparable part of my Bedtime Routine, this cleanser completely transformed my skin over the past two months. It removes makeup like there is no tomorrow, leaving the skin feel incredible – soft, smooth and moisturized. The balm balances out my skin wonderfully and also minimizes the appearance of pores. Just scoop small amount out, add some warm water, rub it well between your palms and apply it all over your face and neck. Massage it in for a few minutes and remove with water or hot cloth for some extra exfoliation. Your skin will look so bright and even and the amazing Moringa vapors will add to the incredible spa-like experience! Brilliant stuff!

Chanel Les Beiges Face Powder

Meet the crème de la crème of all face powders – Chanel Les Beiges. It was love of first sight and when my boyfriend surprised me with this beauty for Christmas (and got the right shade *impressive*) I may have squealed a bit. I cannot talk about Les Beiges without mentioning the packaging – it is beautiful, classy and elegant – the perfect makeup bag accessory.  Speaking Chanel, needless to say that the formula is spot on. The powder offers sheer coverage but adds beautiful healthy glow to the skin and doesn’t look cakey. I adore how radiant and luminous my complexion is after using this and the best part is that Les Beiges actually keeps the oils at bay as well. The powder has SPF 15 and the scent is to die for, which makes it that much more special.

Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer

When it comes to concealers, Benefit own my heart (read my full post here) but I love this MUFE one when my skin is a little bit dryer or if there is a super red and pesky spot that needs to be erased. Full Cover has such lovely lightweight formula and the full coverage it provides really does get rid of every last trace of spots or hyperpigmentation. This baby doesn’t look cakey and doesn’t budge throughout the day. The concealer is on the thicker side but blends effortlessly and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. You only need the tiniest amount and all your skin concerns will disappear as if they have never been there in the first place. Simples.

Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon in Plum Russian

Ohh Plum Russian (review and swatches here), you have no idea how much I’m gonna miss you during the warmer months! I love me a good deep red, plum- y lip and this gem has it all – the ideal shade and the perfect formula. The stunning plum could be build up or down but I love sporting it full on vampy. Plum Russian has gorgeous glossy finish but doesn’t feel sticky or greasy. It is insanely hydrating and I love that when the glossiness is gone (around the second hour) the crayon leaves beautiful stain on the lips. I love how juicy and full this crayon makes my lips, so now that the winter is nearly over, I think getting Peach on the Beach is in order. Roll on spring!

Essie Bahama Mama

Matching my lipstick with my nails has always been my forte and as boring as it may sound – I love it. That being said, the perfect nail polish to go with Plum Russian has been Essie’s Bahama Mama (review and swatches here). It is the most beautiful deep berry plum shade I own and I love its stunning purple undertones. This is what makes the polish unique and a stand out in my collection. Bahama Mama doesn’t have the best formula but it gets the job done so I am not complaining too much.

Have you tried any of these products? Do you love them as much as I do? Which is one product that you loved the most for the past month?

Lots of love,

Amazing Advertiser / February

Hello everyone! Hope you are all doing well! I am already looking forward to the weekend and my little weekend getaway that my boyfriend and I will be having. There is something so wonderful about going out of the busy city and just relax in front of the fireplace whilst reading a nice book and sipping on hot cocoa. To be honest, I need I little bit of technology / social media blackout as well. I’ve caught myself falling asleep with my phone in my hand way too many times and sometimes not even listening to what people say to me because I was ‘too busy’ scrolling down my Twitter Timeline… It has gotten a bit out of control and a day or two away from it is much needed. I am sure I won’t completely resist the temptation to check my blog etc. but I will do my best and give my loved ones my full attention. Wish me luck - I am going to need it haha! :)

Anyway, enough about me! The focus of today’s post is the ever so lovely Jayde from the blog je-mapparel.com . She is such a sweetheart and her blog and YouTube are personal favorites of mine! Jayde has an amazing style and her posts are always so well written and informative! It’s been such a pleasure having her on my side bar for the past month and you should definitely give her blog and channel a go – I am sure you will love them as much as I do! <3
'My name is Jayde and I write a blog and run a YouTube channel. JE M'APPAREL is a beauty/fashion/lifestyle blog where I post about the things I've been loving lately. Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon / Review

Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon

Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon Swatches

I have no idea what’s with the whole red lip obsession that’s been happening with me lately but it is a fact – I am officially a red lip girl! Classic reds, coral reds, deeper reds – give me them all, I am not picky. Having said that, ladies and gentlemen meet the ever so gorgeous Revlon Lip Butter in Wild Watermelon. It’s been my go-to companion when it comes to vivid lip, subtle flush on the cheeks and big bold black winged eyeliner. Anyone remember this stunning photo of Cara Delevigne? Yes, that is the look I go for when I wear this beaut and let me tell you – it works beautifully!

Wild Watermelon is one of the most gorgeous lip shades I’ve seen. While we were wandering the streets of London, Annie (from Kazetime) pulled this gem from her bag and the minute she applied it, it was a no brainer! It looked fab on her and it had to be mine! Asap. Wild Watermelon is this gorgeous vibrant medium toned coral-y red that instantly brightens up the whole complexion. It’s bold but not in your face, which is perfect for everyday wear. I adore the luminous finish it has and I love how it makes my lips looks fuller and more plump.

If you are a beauty lover like myself, then you know what I am about to say. The formula of this baby is impeccable! Revlon Lip Butters have the best of the best lipstick formula in my opinion and it is more than perfect for my needs. Wild Watermelon is so creamy and moisturizing and feels buttery soft on the lips. It almost feels like a tinted lip balm, which is lovely. The opacity is amazing for a lip butter and could be build up or down, depending on your preference. I like to apply two coats, as my lips are naturally more pigmented and that is more than enough to make the color look vibrant and rich.  The staying power is okay and Wild Watermelon stays on for some good three hours without fading. Again, not bad for a lip butter, right!

What can I say – I am not that easily impressed, especially when we talk makeup but this beauty completely won me over. The shade is irresistibly beautiful and ensures the perfect reddish coral juicy pout. Pop some bold eyeliner on and you will be done. Definitely go give Wild Watermelon a whirl and I am sure it will take you less than a second to completely fall in love with it. I’ve been there! ;)

Have you tried Wild Watermelon? How do you like it? Which is your go-to red lippie at the moment?

My Bedtime Beauty Routine

My Bedtime Beauty Routine This Works Deep Sleep

I’ve been out the whole day, I am so exhausted and crave some rest, yet the only thing on my mind getting back home is taking my makeup off. Yes, this happens to me pretty often. Don’t get me wrong, I love applying / wearing makeup but taking it off is one of the biggest chores for me and I dread it literally from the moment I’ve put it on haha. To make the experience somewhat more pleasant, I have created a little ‘bedtime’ routine, as I like to call it. It is like a mini pampering session that I do every evening and which consists of removing my makeup (double cleansing, moisturizing and the whole shebang) and taking extra care for my lips, hands and most importantly of my good night sleep.

After I’m home and I’ve changed, starting the chore is in order! Using some of my favorite Bioderma Sensibio H2O Micellar Water I start getting rid of my makeup, beginning from the eyes. Doing my whole face usually takes up about three cotton pads and I make sure that there are no visible traces of makeup on the cotton pad. Bioderma is such an amazing product and I love that it’s water and not oil-based but it cleanses very well and doesn’t dry out my skin. After I’m finished with it, I wash my teeth and go under the shower (which is a whooole nuther routine, let me tell you). The product that I’ve been loving for my second cleanse is the oh-so-famous Emma Hardie Morings Cleansing Balm. Cult product and for a good reason. This baby takes every last bit of makeup off, whilst moisturizing and balancing the skin. It is so soothing and calming and leaves my skin feel silky soft and smooth. Not to mention that the amazing scent is so aromatherapeutic and relaxes me instantly. Once I’m out of the shower, I like to tone my skin and I find that the good old Bioderma works wonders as toner as well.

Now for my favorite part – moisturizing! Always starting from the eyes, my trusty Benefit It’s Potent Eye Cream (review here) gets the job done perfectly. It hydrates my eye area amazingly and doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. Also, the cream helps a bit with dark circles. Brilliant stuff! As far as moisturizing my face goes, I’ve found the perfect combo! La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo and Lush Cosmetic Lad  – the ultimate skincare companion. Starting with Effaclar Duo, this miracle product has my skin covered when it comes to reducing redness, inflammation and battling breakouts and black heads. It helps my skin stay clear and also minimizes the appearance of pores. Since Effaclar Duo doesn’t provide enough hydration, I like to top it off with Lush’s Cosmetic Lad cream. No, this is not for boys only and even though it could be used as shaving cream as well it is the best moisturizer I’ve tried! This cooling and soothing cream calms the skin and hydrates it deeply. I was lured to get it when the lady in the store told me that it also helps with white heads and well – it really does! Hello flawless complexion!

For my lips, every evening I religiously exfoliate, using my Lush Popcorn scrub (sorry I forgot to picture it, but here is a review). It gets rid of the dead skin and leaves the lips super soft and kissable. Hydrating lip balm is essential, especially for someone like me who suffers from uber dry lips. My usual partner in crime before going to bed is Dior Crème de Rose. This heavenly rose smelling lip balm moisturizes beautifully and when I wake up in the morning my lips are so plump and full. It’s love!

If my mum has taught me one thing about beauty it has to be how important it is to take good care of our hands and moisturize them daily. And since I don’t fancy having hands which look as if I am eighty at the age of thirty  - before going to bed I always moisturize and apply some cuticle butter. The hand cream that has completely stolen my heart is the Soap & Glory Hand Food (review here). I soak my hands in this gem and in the morning I enjoy my amazingly soft and smooth hands. This cream hydrates incredibly and the scent is to die for. Best budget buy ever! Even though it is super strongly scented, Lush Lemony Flutter (review here) is still my first pick when it comes to cuticle care. Rub a little bit of the butter and in the morning you will be amazed by how moisturized and more supple your nail area is! Bye bye dry, chapped cuticles!

Now that my makeup is off and my skin is perfectly ready for the night, it’s time for my favorite nighty ritual – reading a nice magazine / book and diving into the therapeutic properties of the This Works Deep Sleep duo (review here). I roll some of Stress Less on my wrists, inhale the relaxing Eucalyptus and Lavender vapors and instantly feel calm and distressed. To ensure a good night beauty sleep, I give my pillow a couple of pre-snooze spritzes of the Pillow Spray and the divine fragrance instantly sends me off to la-la land Zzz…

Have you tried any of these products? What is one essential product that you just can’t be without before going to bed at night?

Mini Drugstore Beauty Haul + First Impressions

Drugstore Beauty Haul

Mini Drugstore Beauty Haul

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

Rimmel And Topshop Lipsticks

Topshop And Nyx Blushes

What? A beauty haul? What was that? Haha I cannot believe how long it’s been since I did one of those *hides in the corner* . Anyway, I hope you’ll forgive me as today I break the curse and it is here – a drugstore haul all ready for you! I am waaay too excited for some of the things I picked up recently, so doing a haul was in order. I started doing my annual spring makeup shopping and even though it might be a bit early for you, I am full of the cold and I cannot wait for the sun to finally grace us with its presence, so I couldn’t resist! I hope you’ll enjoy and as always – I will share my first impressions with each of the products below! :)

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer

To kick off the haul, I of course have to break the rule and show you a product that has nothing to do with spring makeup, nor it is from the drugstore. Cuz I’m a rebel like that hah! Seriously though, I had to share this because I fell in love with it so much after only one use. The oh-so-famous Philip Kingsley Elasticizer completely stole my heart when I first tried it yesterday and I cannot wait to use it again. This pre-shampoo treatment has made my hair so bouncy and strong I can’t stop playing with it! Basically, you use it before shampooing and let it sit for about 20 minutes. It moisturizes brilliantly and makes the hair elastic, bouncy and shiny. The treatment is also supposed to provide UV protection and to prolong the life of color treated hair. My strands have never felt softer and less brittle and the good part is that the Elasticizer improves its results with every use! I. Am. Excited.

NYX Blush in Dusty Rose

I remember Fleur de Force raving about this blush a while ago and I recall wanting to try it so so badly! Well, it’s finally mine and I will not lie if I say that it’s been everything I’ve been using on my cheeks for the past few weeks. DustyRose is the most gorgeous matte dusty pink shade I own and I adore the natural flush it adds to my complexion. It has the loveliest silky soft texture and blends beautifully into the skin. It is incredibly pigmented and all you need is a light dab with the brush and you’re done. This gem will not budge throughout the day and it is undoubtedly the longest lasting blush from the drugstore I’ve ever tried. If you think you don’t need any more blushes – I suggest you think twice!

Topshop Cream Blush in Flush

Keeping with the blush theme, you know I love me a good cream blush and when I spotted this one from Topshop all I could do is cave and get it! Flush is probably the prettiest spring blush I could possibly find and I cannot get over how amazing its warm coral-y shade is. Flush adds the most beautiful pop of color to my cheeks, whilst still keeping it all au naturel. Love! The blush has a lovely cream-to-powder finish and blends into the skin so effortlessly and the pigmentation is insane. What I adore most about Flush is the stunning luminous finish it gives – it makes me look so fresh and healthy!

Topshop Lipstick in Ohh La La

As I lost my Topshop makeup virginity this week, I couldn’t go without trying their prominent lipstick range, so I took the plunge. Lost in all their fab shades, I kind of got the shade Ohh La La on a whim. I didn’t really think much about it but when I got home and had a closer look I instantly fell in love! Ohh La La is a beautiful peachy–coral shade and I love how bright, almost neon it is! It has a lovely semi-matte, velvet-y finish and glides on the lips like charm. It’s pretty pigmented and the formula is very soft and creamy and feels very comfortable on my dry lips. Ohh La La does cling into imperfections a bit but it’s nothing that a good exfoliation can’t fix. :)

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss Lipstick in 110

Ever since I fell head over heels in love with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte lipstick in 107 (review here) I’ve wanted to try other lipsticks from the range. With that said, two weeks ago I was shopping with my best friend (check her newly born blog here) and I decided to swatch the shade 110. I didn’t really think much of it so we left the store and five minutes later Antoinette grabbed my hand and was like ‘What is this? You NEED to get it, it would be perfect on you!’ (such a little enabler!). Long story short, I went in and bought it and it was love of first use! 110 is this beautiful bright coral-y red shade, which would be so perfect for spring and it compliments my skin tone perfectly. The formula is a bit drying but if I moisturize my lips before applying it’s all good. The lipstick literally stays on for five hours, which is rather impressive and I adore the matte finish. Bring on spring – I cannot wait to wear this beaut on a more daily basis!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Greenberry

Sitting on my wishlist for quite some time now, I am now happy to call Barry M Gelly nail polish in Greenberry finally mine! And it didn’t disappoint, that’s for sure! This little bottle of perfection is the perfect turquoise nail polish shade I have ever seen (and I have seen a lot!). It is the perfect blend of green and blue and I absolutely adore how bright and vivid it is –perfect for the warmer weather! The formula is so lovely – not gloopy and glides on wonderfully. Pop on two thin coats of this beauty and enjoy your beautiful, long-lasting tips, whilst admiring the high-shine finish. Couldn’t be happier and I think I sense a new nail polish addiction!

Have you tried any of these products before? Have you bought anything exciting recently?
