Who doesn’t love a good Sunday pamper session or a little mid-week facial to make our skin all glow-y and healthy again? I surely do and to be honest I love those special days when I treat my skin and seeing how it transforms itself makes me extremely excited each time. My favorite step when it comes to at-home facials is definitely the use of treatment oils and serums. Something about the way they instantly improve the skin really fascinates me and they are the products that I find the biggest difference when I use them. So meet my favorite partners in crime when I want to pay my skin some attention and make it all happy again.
I use serums every single day, morning and night but I have a special one that I use only twice a week when I want to firm my skin and make it extra soft and smooth – the Clarins Double Serum (here). When I found it in my mum’s cabinet a few months ago the beauty addict in me decided to give it a whirl regardless of the ‘age control concentrate’ label. Two pumps later I completely forgot about the anti-ageing properties and I couldn’t stop staring myself in the mirror and touching my skin. The way the serum made it feel and look left me absolutely besotted and it is now firm part of my skincare stash. Double Serum is infused with 20 plant extracts, which ‘boost the skin’s vital function’. When my skin feels saggy and dull I like to pat some of the serum all over my face and neck and the results are immediate – my complexion looks more even and significantly brighter, the skin feels firmer and more supple and my pores and fine lines literally disappear. Hello amazing skin!
Clarins seems to be owning my heart recently and my love for the Blue Orchid Treatment Face Oil (here) is the living proof. If I had to choose only one serum or oil to use for the rest of my life, without blinking an eye I’d go for this beauty. It is a skincare essential and I literally cannot imagine not having it around. Blue Orchid has improved my skin SO much and the difference is downright incredible. If you’re not familiar with the Clarins Face Oils, basically they do three different ones, one for each skin type. The one I use is specially designed for dehydrated skin and there is one for oily / combination (here) and one of dry (here) skin. I use it twice a week at night, before going to bed and the results in the morning are mind-blowing! Three drops of Blue Orchid is all I need to bring back the moisture into my skin and make it all supple and nourished. My skin looks and feels so soft and smooth and the healthy glow makes me one happy lady. When using this my skin calms down immediately, all redness is gone and my complexion is so even and beautiful. The oil also does an amazing job in fading acne scaring and my pores and any fine lines are nowhere to be seen! This godsend product also helps massively with blemishes - it prevents me from having them and it helps heal them if I get any. Overnight miracle in a bottle! My boyfriend and I love it and he even uses it from time to time haha.
Speaking of treatment oils, the one that I religiously use each Sunday after a good face mask is this ProGenius Treatment Oil from NUDE (here). If we are talking about long-lasting, incredible skin improvements then this gem is the one to look for. It consists of 10 precious oils and is rich in Omega 3, 6, 7 & 9. It provides skin cell nourishment and the skin appears ‘lit from within’. ProGenius works brilliant work in hydrating the deeper layers of the skin and injecting luminous glow into my complexion. It is one of those products that completely sort out my skin if I’m having any dry, flakey patches or if it looks dull and lifeless. I adore how the oil makes my face feel – silky soft to the touch and so smooth and even. If your skin lacks hydration and it tends to loose its dewiness, then ProGenius might become your best friend. It doesn’t irritate the skin and never caused me to break out, plus it absorbs instantly and doesn’t leave greasy residue. Score. You can mix the oil with your morning moisturizer or use it as an overnight treatment but either way - the results will leave you absolutely smitten. Radiant, beautifully hydrated skin? Double check!
Have you tried any of these products? Which is your favorite serum or oil?

Nothing sets the mood like a good candle and if it comes from Jo Malone then well – it’s pure perfection. I’d restrained myself of getting my mitts on one for the longest time, as I knew it would become an obsession. And I was so right! Now that I’d lost my Jo Malone candle virginity there’s no going back and I want to take the whole shop at home to keep me company haha. The candle that set my heart on Jo Malone and started it all though was this one in Lime Basil & Mandarin (here).
Initially I wanted the Sweet Almond and Macaroon one but as it was out of stock I went for this one and I definitely don’t regret it. If you are like me and you love citrusy scents this beauty will capture your heart with the first sniff. It has rich zesty aroma embellished with subtle woody scent, which makes the candle smell so fresh and young! The three keynotes of the candle are Mandarin, Basil and Amberwood and blended together they add to the whole ‘Caribbean breeze’, summer-y feel of the fragrance. Lime Basil & Mandarin is an evocative fragrance that I wouldn’t get as cologne (I prefer sweeter scents) but I absolutely adore it as a candle and I love how fresh and clean it feels when it infuses the room. Burning it next to me when I blog or read a nice book is incredibly relaxing and charging as well. Bliss!
Beautifully packaged, coming with complimentary Jo Malone matches, this gem makes such great present for someone special or might be the perfect way to treat yourself. The elegant, sophisticated packaging is the ideal decorative touch to every room and I love how beautifully it sits on top of my vanity with the cute little bow on the lid. I know that Jo Malone candles are rather expensive but they have 45-hour burn time and the scent fills the whole room in literally ten minutes and it lingers for ages, so I’d say it’s totally worth the splurge. An everyday luxury that lifts my spirits, the Lime Basil & Mandarin candle is the perfect companion when I want to rewind. It’s love.
P.S. If you’d like to win a Jo Malone candle, my best friend is currently having an International Jo Malone Candle Giveaway on her blog and you can enter here.

Hello lovely readers of Andrea's blog. I'm Jenna, a self-confessed makeup and coffee junkie. I spend more time playing with makeup, trying new looks, helping friends get ready for special events and shopping at makeup stores than doing anything else (which I probably shouldn't). Bright cheeks, colorful lips and tips, minimal eye makeup. Yes, that’s my go-to makeup look for spring and when it comes to pink blush I don’t even need to think twice to name my favorite companion. It comes in the form of the ever-so-gorgeous Topshop Cream Blush in Flush (here), which left me absolutely smitten, so bare with me as I can sense that you’ll be seeing quite a bit of its prettiness on RosyChicc - it just deserves all the praises!
And what’s not to love about it! Let’s take a second and appreciate the gorgeous pink shade which is just the perfect blend of warm and cool undertones, making the blush one of those ‘flatter everyone and everything’ little gems. And not only that, but the color is also incredibly natural-looking and just enhances the natural features of the cheeks, making you look as if you flushed naturally – perfect for a simple day look or if you feel like it – the perfect finishing touch for a smokey eye. The reason Flush and I get so well together is also because of the way it brightens up my whole complexion. If I’m having a bad skin day, you can bet that this baby will land in my makeup bag because of the beautiful soft, dewy finish that just screams ‘healthy’.
This heaven in a pan (an adorable one, if I may add) also managed to ‘wow’ me with its brilliant formula. Even though I’m more of a fan of the stay-cream type of finish, the cream-to-powder formula of Flush stole my heart with the first application. I use my fingertips to apply it and the blush just glides on like charm, without dragging the skin or disturbing the layers underneath. Oh, and no patchy spots with this beauty – airbrushed finish is more like it! Score! Apart from getting full-blown color with just one little swirl of the brush or your fingers, Flush hangs around for the whole day without budging or fading as well. Impressive!
If you are a blush addict (like myself) or if you’re looking for a new pink-y blush to add to your spring makeup collection, the only thing I can say to you is – you need to get your mitts on Flush! ASAP. Radiant and awake complexion? Check! Beautiful universal shade? Check! Amazing, long-lasting formula? Check! Check! Check! Do I need to say more?

Having long, beautifully curled lashes is such a confidence booster for me and I’ve always been trying to find the perfect products to help me get that look. And the big news is I finally did it - I found the perfect trio that not only makes my lashes big and voluminous but also helps them stay curled and clump-free throughout the day! Starting off my eyelash routine, I always curl my lashes, using my trusty Shu Uemera Eyelash Curler (here). This baby works absolute wonders, especially for someone like me who has long, yet straight lashes. It really gets into the root of the lash creating the perfect natural curl that last hours and hours. The shape of the silicone pad is ideal for everyone and gives elongated sweeping curl instead of the not-so-cute harsh crimped look. Being the crème de la crème of the eyelash curlers, this one by She Uemura is an essential and if your lashes need some prepping and extra hold like mine do – this gem’s a must.
Now that my lashes are curled and pretty there come the exciting part – using eyelash serum. And if you’re not familiar with the concept don’t worry – I recently heard of it myself but since I got a sample of the Dior Diorshow Maximizier Lash Plumping Serum (here) I never looked back. This is the product that takes my mascara game one step further and it makes the biggest difference. The Maximiser could be used both as mascara primer and as overnight treatment to condition and strengthen them. I haven’t been using this beauty long enough to comment on its nourishing properties but let me tell you – as a primer it’s a complete game changer. It creates the perfect smooth and even base for my mascara and it glides on like a dream. The fast-drying Maximizer also separates and lengthens the lashes beautifully, adding more volume and definition, without any clumps – incredible! Say goodbye to the short, thin lashes – this stuff sorts them out in seconds!
Well any eyelash talk wouldn’t be complete without raving about my favorite mascara at the moment, would it? Meet my latest mascara obsession in the form of the ever-so-lovely YSL Shocking Mascara (here). Fancy having long, perfectly separated, deep black, voluminous lashes that hold curl for the whole day and doesn’t clump or smudge? Well you’ve come to the right place because this baby gives it all in just one swipe! The list could go on really, but this mascara works absolute wonders and in conjunction with the Dior serum – the results are downright brilliant. I’m all about the more dramatic eyelashes and this YSL mascara ticks all the boxes for me, so if you’re on a hunt for a new eyelash companion – jump on the bandwagon!
Have you ever used any of these products before? How do you like them? How do you achieve the perfect eyelash look?

Calling out to all dry lip sufferers out there – I have finally found the solution to all our problems in the form of the NUXE Reve de Miel Lip Balm (here). Move aside Dior Crème de Rose (here) you’ve been replaced and there’s no going back! As you may know, I have naturally extremely dry lips and finding the perfect lip balm to take care of them has always been quite the task. Most lip balms I’ve tried just don’t seem to offer long-term improvement and get the job done only while on the lips. Reve de Mile, however, is a whole nuther story – it not only feels super moisturizing on but with continuous use it actually sorts out the problem and improves the whole condition of my lips more permanently. Brilliant!
Reve de Miel is designed for very dry and chapped lips and it is titled as ‘ultra nourishing lip balm with honey and precious oils’. I don’t know what those precious oils are but apparently they work absolute wonders as my lips have never been this soft and smooth! The balm is enriched with honey, shea butter, plant oils and grapefruit essence, which not only contribute to the ah-mazing, delicious scent but also nourish the lips like there’s no tomorrow. Reve de Miel is hands down the most conditioning lip balm I’ve put on and its incredible, rich formula moisturizes as well as repairs and restores the suppleness of the lips. Just pop some before you go to bed at night or apply some throughout the day and your lips will be soothed, fuller, and much softer!
The formula of Reve de Miel is unlike any lip balm I’ve tried before. It’s a bit strange at first and even though some people may disagree - I love it. It has rather thick consistency and it feels almost grainy. Luckily though the balm glides on easily and once it’s melted on the lips it feels smooth and lightweight. It dries to a nice matte finish, which is ideal for under your lipstick. If your lips are thirsty and you are tired of the not-so-cute look of the dry, chapped lips – Reve de Miel will come to the rescue. You really can’t go wrong with it and that comes from someone who’s been battling the flakey lip for ages.

You can never have enough peach lipsticks, they say. Following that motto, feeling excited and not at all ashamed to add a new lippy to my collection, I took the plunge and bought it – the ever so gorgeous Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Streak (here). Lipstick is my ultimate weakness, plus I love sporting the peach pout at the moment, so getting it was only fair. And do I regret it? Hell no! Ladies and gentlemen, meet *wait for it* the best lipstick I have found in a really, really long time! Surely a pretty bold statement but for a good reason! Streak is one of those products that you apply once and you never look back – it left me absolutely smitten and it took me less then a second to completely fall in love with it. A bright peach with pink-y coral undertones – this beauty is one of those ‘suit everyone, slap on with smokey eye or natural makeup’ kind of shades. The beautiful semi-matte finish of the lippy is exactly my cup of tea and I adore the subtle sheen running through it. I love how the shade brightens up my whole complexion and how my lips actually appear fuller and plumper when I wear this. Score.
The luxurious packaging is downright stunning but what is better about this lipstick is the formula! This gem definitely has all the boxes ticked and it is like nothing else I have tried. Streak applies like charm, gliding effortlessly across my lips, hugging every curve and feeling cushiony soft and buttery. You can kiss goodbye any dry patches or imperfections, as this miracle worker covers them all, making your lips look as soft and juicy as ever. You only need one swipe to get full-blown color and the almost waxy texture ensures amazing longevity, sticking around for absolute ages and making the lips feel comfortable and hydrated at the same time. That’s magic in a bullet right here.
If you fancy dipping your toe in the bright lipstick pool – Streak is the lipstick you need to get involved with. Stunning shade that turns heads? Check? Brilliant long lasting, moisturizing formula? Check? Well then the moral of the story is this – I need to continue buying lipsticks, as you never know when the perfect one will come around. Or at least that’s what I like to tell myself haha.

Spring has officially sprung and I couldn’t be any more excited! The sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and I keep seeing the pastel trend everywhere. Wearing the beautiful subtle shades always makes me so happy and for me spring is the ideal time to step out of my comfort zone and incorporate some color into my life and especially my eye makeup. So if you fancy learning more about my favorite milky makeup picks - keep reading! Pastel pink and peach lips and colorful, yet soft eye makeup? Yes please!
Inglot Rainbow Eye Shadow Quad
Colorful eye makeup is usually not something that I’d go for, but during springtime I’m willing to make an exception and play around with colors a bit more. My partner in crime for those occasions is this beautiful eye shadow quad from the Inglot Rainbow Freedom System (here). The shades I have in here are mint green (104R), purple (114R), peach (118R) and the not-so-special beige (106R). The beautiful gradient pastel colors are ideal for creating subtle spring makeup and just adding a little pop of color into your everyday makeup look. The pigmentation of the shadows is incredible and the quality is not far away from my beloved MAC ones. They all have lovely matte finish and blend beautifully, allowing you to create the perfect happy, fun look. Pop some in the inner corner of the eye (as I did here), apply some under your lower lash line to help bring out the color of your eyes or go a bit crazier by sweeping the colors all over the lid – it’s up to you but one thing is certain – you will look as radiant and whimsical as ever!
Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet
Pastel peach blush is something that is on top of my spring makeup favorites and the one that has been glued to my cheeks recently is this Bourjois Cream Blush in 01 Nude Velvet (here). This little pot of prettiness is my pale complexion’s best friend! The stunning light shade adds just the right amount of soft color, making my face look brighter, healthier and happier. This easy-to apply cream-to-powder blush also has incredible formula, which not only blends effortlessly but stays in place for some good 7-8 hours! It’s love! See my full review and swatches here.
Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color in Coral Ambition
The only thing better than rocking peachy cheeks is rocking peachy cheeks, accompanied by pretty peachy lips, don’t you think? To go with the lovely Nude Velvet blush, I’ve pulled out this Maybelline Color Whisper Lip Color beauty in Coral Ambition (review here). Now that I have some more tan on (fake tan sadly *cough*), this lovely coral with strong peach undertones has made its way into my makeup bag. Coral Ambition helps me take my pastel makeup obsession on another level and its soft shade provides all the right amounts of milky color. It finishes off my peachy makeup beautifully and makes it look so soft and gentle – perfect for spring. The formula of the Color Whisper is lovely and the lip color feels so light and moisturizing on the lips. The color is buildable and the lipstick glides on the lips easily and it’s not sticky. The only bugbear is that this beauty doesn’t last much on and you need to reapply throughout the day. The yummy vanilla scent makes it not all that bad though, so I’m not complaining.
YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in #7 Lingerie Pink
If you are more of a pink makeup type of gal, this YSL Rouge Volupte lipstick in Lingerie Pink (here) will keep you the best company when it comes to pastel lips. The oh-so-gorgeous frosty pastel pink compliments my skin tone beautifully and makes me feel feminine and classy. Lingerie Pink is so gentle and soft and paired with a nice light pink blush your spring makeup is sorted. The formula of this lippy is absolutely brilliant and the pigmentation is downright amazing! This gem is so buttery and the gorgeous glossy finish helps you achieve the perfect pastel pout in no time. Simple, yet so beautiful – Lingerie Pink completely captured my heart! Review here.

Hello beauties! Recently I was scribbling down some new blog post ideas when it hit me – I haven’t done a Disappointing Products type of post yet. I bang on about my favorite products all the time but unfortunately not everything I buy I like. Even though I always make sure I’ve done my research before going and getting a product, there still are occasions when I end up utterly disappointed by it. So that’s what I’m going to do today –showing you some beauty bits that definitely didn’t work for me and which I think you may want to research a bit more before deciding whether you should buy them or not.
Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation
Here it is – starting off with the product that not only disappointed me massively but the product that completely messed up my skin and which I hate to my stomach – the Laura Mercier Silk Crème Foundation (here). I bought it in September and I was oh-so-excited to try it and initially I loved it. The coverage is absolutely amazing – full coverage, which looks natural and not as if you’re wearing makeup. The finish of Silk Crème is also fantastic and it is the perfect mixture of matte and dewy. The foundation makes the skin luminous without looking shiny or greasy and just makes it look beautiful, healthy and airbrushed. My skin has never looked better and I was all about Silk Crème. Until a week later. I noticed a lot of black and (mainly) white heads all over my face but I didn’t think the foundation has anything to do with it. I continued using it and by the end of week two my skin had gotten SO bad that I honestly couldn’t get outside of the apartment or look myself in the mirror. My skin was red, inflamed, terribly breaking out and the horrendous cysts hurt so badly that I could not move the muscles on my face. For someone who has never had skin problems before, this reaction was a huge shock and even though I immediately stopped using Silk Crème my skin needed some good three months to go back to normal. I still have some minor acne scaring left on my cheeks etc. so what can I say – Silk Crème has officially made it to the top of my black list and even though I know it works wonders for some, I wouldn’t even recommend it to my worst enemy. Hate. It.
MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick in Supreme Style
The next product in my don’t-recommend-it list definitely needs to be this MAC Sheen Supreme lipstick in Supreme Style (here). Over Christmas I bought two of these - one for my mum and one for my aunt and they both got a terrible reaction from it. Their lips got scary swollen and there were weird dry patches all over them and took ages to recover. I decided to try the lipstick myself, regardless of their terrible experience and luckily it didn’t react that bad on me but it was still rather hideous. The lipstick made my lips super super dry and an hour later they were SO dry and flakey that they hurt massively. I was honestly shocked since we are talking about MAC here and we all know that their products are usually amazing quality. I’ve also read some reviews online and found people with similar reaction, so I’m guessing that some of the ingredients are not suitable for everyone unfortunately. The lipstick itself is a really lovely soft beige-y pink with nice shimmery finish. It applies effortlessly and buttery, but as I said - it gets pretty bad once it sets and the consequences are ridiculous. Not my cup of tea and from now on I’ll stick to the regular MAC lipstick range.
OPI Suzi’s Hungary Again!
It’s rare for me to find a nail polish which is so terrible that I couldn’t be bothered to even finish applying it, but well done OPI – you’ve disappointed me so much that I had to include your Suzi’s Hungary Again (here) in this post. When my boyfriend gave me this beauty I immediately fell in love with the shade. The stunning warm medium pink is perfect for the warmer seasons and the subtle shimmer running through it captured my heart in no time. However, I was too quick to call the polish my newest best friend. The formula of the lacquer is downright horrible! I tried to sit down and apply it twice but it was such a nightmare to use that I ended up wiping the polish off and using another color. Suzi’s Hungary Again (love the name btw haha) has such thin consistency that you not only need at least four coats to get it opaque but it also streaks like crazy! To make the color even you also need to work with very light hand, otherwise you’ll be left with bold patches everywhere. The varnish is super watery and leaks all over your cuticles as well. Not a cute look! I definitely wouldn’t recommend this polish to anyone - the formula is a pain and the color is nothing that unique so I’m giving it a miss.
Have you ever tried some of these products? What do you think of them?
Lots of love,
