The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-oil

Another month has come to an end and you know what this means – a post filled with some of my most-loved beauty products, with which I’ve been bonding for the past few weeks. There is a divine smelling cologne in the picture, as well as some fab budget-buy discoveries, a lovely peachy lip balm and lovely golden eye shadow. Wanna hear more? Then without further ado let’s dive into my June favorites!

Jo Malone is my heaven! I absolutely adore their candles and colognes and when it comes to summer fragrances I am sorted thanks to their beautiful White Jasmine & Mint Cologne (here). This is not your typical sweet scent and that’s exactly what I love about it. It smells super fresh and clean but has a certain sharpness to it, which makes it stand out from all my other perfumes. The scent reminds me of a garden in a warm summer morning and the just-crushed mint notes add to the whole fresh feel. The cologne has a lovely blend of jasmine, lily, orange flower and rose. Go give it a little sniff and you may find your new best friend.

Speaking of best friends, one thing that I had to mention is my latest skincare discovery. It is from The Body Shop and comes in the form of their new Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil (here). I banged on about it here but to put it in one word that would have to be game changer. Not only this won’t break the bank but it also makes the skin absolutely beautiful. Slap this on at night and wake up with virtually new skin – radiant, brighter, softer and more even. Get involved!

Another inexpensive discovery, which completely sold me with the first application is this gorgeous Delice de Soleil Bronzing Powder by Bourjois (here). This baby is the perfect mix of warm and cool tones and makes my pale skin very happy. It doesn’t lean orange or too muddy and just adds warmth to my complexion in one go. The bronzer has teeny tiny shimmer particles in it but they just help brighten up the skin and are nothing crazy. Delice de Soliel has been my bronzer of choice when I want to look all bronzy and sun-kissed. I just dust it on the highest points of my face and I love how naturally tanned it makes me look. This easy-to-apply powder also has SPF 15 and applies like a breeze. Oh and it smells like cocoa – yum.

Pretending to be a ‘golden goddess’ is one of my favorite summer activities, tell me I’m not the only one haha. To help me with that I dug out my beloved MAC Woodwinged eye shadow (here). This warm ‘antique’ brown with golden shimmer running through it is everything I need to put on my eyes if I want to channel my inner sun-kissed self. I adore the way Woodwinged catches the light and makes my green eyes pop – it’s just wonderful. Speaking of MAC, needless to say that the formula also gets big thumbs up from me and you can read all about it and see swatches here.

We all know how great the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks are so telling you that I had rediscovered my love shade #13 Peach Passion (here) won’t come as a surprise. Stunning bright peach with coral undertones and beautiful hydrating and uber creamy formula – that’s all I have to say. It’s love and I’ve been wearing it loads recently!

I like peaches and I like daiquiri so it was only fair to completely fall in love with Essie Peach Daiquiri (review here). I can’t get over the gorgeous bright peachy coral – it’s just the perfect summer shade. I’ve been rocking it both on my fingernails and toes in June and the amount of compliments I got says it all. The formula is also spot on so if you are on a hunt for a new nail lacquer for the upcoming summer parties – look this way!

Have you tried any of these products before? Which was the one product that you have been loving in June?

Monthly Roundup / June

Hello my lovelies! Can you believe it’s almost July now? June has literally slipped through my fingers and I can’t believe that we are more than half way through the year already! It feels like yesterday when we were raising our glasses to welcome the new 2014. For me the moral of the whole ‘time is flying by way to fast’ is that we have to really live for the moment and stop waiting for tomorrow, or next week or next month or whatever excuses we are making and fooling ourselves with. I realized that if I want things to get better and if I want to finally achieve my dreams I need to act. NOW. Not tomorrow or the day after. It was just recently when it hit me - most of my ‘tomorrows’ have actually become ‘never’ as it was too late. So here I am, regretting the things I didn’t do and making a mini mid-year resolution. I am promising myself that I will do my best to go out of my comfort zone more and start seizing the moment. Carpe diem as they say. Now without further ado and without boring you with more emotional ramblings let’s get to today’s post – a roundup of my favorite posts during June. I hope you all enjoyed them and if you have any posts that you’d want me to do soon, let me know in the comments! :)

Amazing Advertisers / June

Hello my lovelies! Anyone else excited for the weekend eek! I personally cannot wait for a little getaway with the boy in the countryside, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A weekend of *almost* no cell phone action and with lots of Game of Thrones reading and delicious BBQs and cocktails! Bliss. If you are not doing much these few days as well, I have the perfect lazy day activity idea – reading through some amazing blogs and I have two of my personal favorites to share with you today. Meet the wonderful Kallie from But First, Coffee and Ziva from Nothin’ Fancy. Really. I absolutely love these ladies and they definitely are some of the sweetest people I’ve met through blogging. I’ll leave you to their fantastic company now and bet you’ll fall in love with their blogs as much as I did when I first browsed through them! Enjoy! :)

Hi all! I'm Kallie the writer behind But First, Coffee (here). I'm a 20-something New England girl, nail polish hoarder, optimist, amateur mixologist, travel enthusiast and coffee addict. At But First, Coffee I write about all the things I love to do in my life, after my morning cup of coffee, that is! I review beauty product, share tutorials, tips and tricks, create DIY projects and recipes (usually of the cocktail variety), share outfit posts, and everything in between.  I also love hosting giveaways and different kinds of blogger swaps.  I hope you'll stop by and say, "hi!"

Nothin' Fancy. Really. (here) is my place on the internet where I share all things beauty and lifestyle. A little bit about me - I'm Živa and I come from a tiny European country, Slovenia, and I am a Cosmopolitan journalist. I have phases where I obsess over perfume, books, beauty and more (currently getting over a rather strange addiction with the color turquoise) and you can read all about them on my blog! I like to mix it up, so expect loads of different things. Also wanted to add that the lovely Andrea is a huge inspiration, as you will obviously see. Round of applause for her. :) Hope to see you on my blog!

I really hope that you’ve just added two new favorite reads to your list. And if you fancy Advertising with my blog as well, here is all the info you need and you can directly book your slot if you want to. :)

Revlon Perfumerie Nail Polish in Ginger Melon Review / Yay or Nay

Revlon Perfumerie Nail Polish in Ginger Melon

Revlon Perfumerie Nail Polish in Ginger Melon

Revlon Perfumerie Nail Polish in Ginger Melon

Revlon Perfumerie Nail Polish in Ginger Melon Swatches

Wait what? Another nail polish review, but something’s different? Yes that’s right, I betrayed my love for Essie and decided to go out of my nail lacquer comfort zone and experiment. That’s what good beauty bloggers do, I’ve been told haha. Say hello to the new addition to my nail polish family – the Revlon Perfumerie in Ginger Melon (here). This beauty caught my eye last week and after a minute of drooling over the gorgeous luxurious and chic packaging I decided to give it a little whirl. To be honest I wasn’t massively impressed by the other shades of the range, there is just too much metallic for my liking. Ginger Melon, however, is a breath of fresh air with its lovely pinkish coral shade. It’s not anything that special but it’s still rather beautiful and the ideal tips and toes summer companion. It has gorgeous hi-shine finish with no shimmer or glitter. So far so good.

So yay or nay? Surely the shade is stunning and the scented nail polish concept is rather cool but my final verdict would sadly have to be a total no-no. Ginger Melon has a strong sweet tropical / peachy smell when it dries and when I say strong I mean it. Now I do have a sensitive nose but usually don’t have problem with scented products but this one literally made me feel sick. I had to remove the polish two hours after the application, as the smell was just too much. My head was hurting badly and I was feeling nauseous. I never thought I’d feel so happy about inhaling nail polish remover haha (yuck I know, so imagine). Apart from the too strong scent, the polish has an okay formula. The brush is too tiny for my taste but it applies evenly and the polish goes on opaque and I only need two thin coats. I obviously can’t comment on the staying power but judging from other reviews it is decent and wears for about four days without chipping. I wish I was able to enjoy the beautiful shade of Ginger Melon but due to the strong scent I can’t see us becoming best friends any time soon.

Have you tried the Revlon Perfumerie range yet? How do you find the scent?

Guest Post / Summer Beauty Must-Haves + Giveaway

Hello beauties! Hope you are all doing well! Today we have a very special guest here on the RosyChicc – the gorgeous Živa from the blog Nothing Fancy. Really. I will leave you to her lovely company now and don’t forget to stay tuned for an exciting Giveaway at the end of the post :)

A big hello to Andrea's wonderful readers! I am so glad to be here today - I have been a faithful reader of Rosy Chicc for years and I absolutely love the lady behind the blog. I was so excited when she agreed to let me guest post in this beautiful place of the Internet - and also a bit intimidated! I hope you will still like this post - I'll be talking about my Summer Beauty Must-Haves.

Let's start with the face. I like using a mattifying moisturizer in the summer, and a great choice is the REN Clarimatte T-Zone Balancing Gel-Cream. This is more of a thick cream than a gel, and I really love that it sinks in fast and still provides a little bit of moisture to my skin. I also love wearing it under my makeup, as it makes a really nice base.

After I apply moisturizer, I like using a lighter foundation or a tinted product. My two favourites are the Vichy Capital Soleil SPF 50 BB Cream and the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream with SPF 15. When I'm out in the sun, I like to reach for the BB Cream, which is just great for the beach as well. It looks really dewy and natural, but if you don't like that look, you can easily add a translucent powder over it. The CC Cream from Bourjois is very similar, though it has a lower SPF, so it would be better to use it when you're not exposed to the sun directly.

Aside from my cheeks, I also really love playing up my lips. I wanted to talk about two of my favourites today, both of which are MAC lipsticks. First we have Lovelorn, a Lustre lipstick, which is between a nude and a pink. It's cool toned, incredibly glossy and would look beautiful on any skin tone. The other one is Pink Nouveau, a toned down neon pink with cold tones as well, which really brightens lips. I love it because it's so unique - neon shades are really out there, but this one is a bit subdued.

I don't want to forget the rest of my body, so here are three hair & body favourites. For my hair, I've really been enjoying the Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Treatment, which is a leave-in product you apply to wet hair. While it really softens my hair, I don't think it would look as good if I hadn't cut it recently! For my body, I really love the Garnier Oil Beauty range. I'm missing the body scrub, but I have the lotion and the oil, and they're both lovely and amazingly scented.

Finally, a quick word on nails ... I used to be a huge nail polish hoarder, and I've calmed down a bit, but when I saw the Models Own Polish For Tans collection I'll admit there was some hyperventillating involved. This is a collection of gorgeous neon shades, which will make tanned skin look amazing! They actually make me look tanned despite the fact I've spent about 15 minutes in the sun so far this summer. From five shades, I picked three - a neon peach, a bright coral, and a hot fuchsia shade. I also threw in Essie Romper Room (it's practically the same as Fiji), which is a pretty pastel pink colour - it also makes you look really tan.

There you have it - a few of my summer picks, though I'm sure I'll manage to pick up a few other bits during the summer months...

Andrea and I decided to surprise you with a little giveaway as well! I recently went to an I Love ... Cosmetics event and I received some gorgeous goodies, so I want one of you to have it! Fill in the Rafflecopter to be eligible to win some delicious smelling goodies. Good luck lovelies!

Beach / Pool Beauty Essentials

Beach / Pool Beauty Essentials

Beach / Pool Beauty Essentials

Beach / Pool Beauty Essentials

Beach / Pool Beauty Essentials

Summer is officially here, which calls for one thing and one thing only – hours spent at the beach or by the pool, soaking up all the sun possible. My mission for Summer 2014? Check a lot of books off of my ‘to read’ list and I’m planning on doing this whilst dipping my feet in the pool and sipping on non-alcoholic Mojitos. Let’s do this, shall we!  To help me stay both refreshed and protected from the sun, here I have my beauty essentials that never leave my beach bag. Grab a delicious cool beverage and enjoy reading!

As much as I’d like to rock the perfect ‘bronzed goddess’ type of tan, I still prefer to protect my skin and lips from the dangerous UV rays. To help me with that I have gathered my UV-battling trio. Starting of with my face, I alternate between La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL (here) and the Bioderma Photoderm AR Tinted Cream (here). They both have SPF 50+, which is ideal but since I could never say ‘No’ to a bit of coverage and anti-redness claims, here I opted for Bioderma’s offering. It protects beautifully, doesn’t leave a white cast, feels super lightweight and leaves my skin feel soft and hydrated. In the bag it goes then. For my body, the NIVEA Protect and Refresh Invisible Cooling Mist with SPF 50 (here) is my protection of choice. It protects, feels super refreshing, applies quick and easy (not a big fan of SPF lotions) and doesn’t have strong sunscreen scent. A winner in my books. I’ve learned my lesson when it comes to protecting your lips. Sunburned pout ain’t cute and hurts badly, so Dior Crème de Rose lip balm (here) is always with me when I’m sunbathing. It has SPF of 10, which might not be much but still does the job perfectly, plus it keeps my lips moisturized and juicy, which I love. The incredible rose scent makes everything that much more appealing, so yes – definitely a beach / pool beauty necessity.

For my hair there is two items that I never leave the house without when I’m headed to the beach. A hair brush and a hair tie. The wind and the salty water could make me look rather hilarious and the only way to tame down the crazy mess looking hair is to have my trusty Tangle Teezer (here) at the ready. I’ve talked about it quite a bit here if you fancy a peek, but to put keep it short and sweet let’s just say that it is a complete hair savior. It takes care both for when my hair is dry and wet. It just slips through my hair and removes all the tangles in one go without pulling my strands. It’s my beach / pool best friend and I’d turn heads if I didn’t have it with me. And not in a good way haha. For similar reasons I always like to have a hair tie with me. If things go a bit too wild on the hair front or in case I feel too hot, I just put my hair up in a pony tail and feel human again. I love these fabric ones from H&M as they don’t create crease in the hair and are also a lot more gentle. Plus the hot pink color feels so happy and summery doesn’t it! <3

Refreshing beverages are a must when I’m sunbathing but sometimes I need some extra help if I feel too warm. I like to give my face a nice spritz of The Body Shop Vitamin C Energizing Face Spritz (here) when I want my skin to feel more fresh, energized and hydrated. This gem is the ultimate pick-me-up for the summer and I adore the healthy glow it adds to my complexion. A must-have for sure. For body refreshment and some added divine scent I always have one of the Victoria’s Secret Body Fragrance (here) on hand. My current favorite is called Sensual Blush and it basically smells like summer in a bottle. The delicious blend of pink lotus and sultry woods is incredible and I love how fresh, young and sweet it smells like. The VS mist is infused with Aloe Vera and makes the skin feel soft and smooth. It’s love. Last but not least, if you’ve been reading my blog for a while you’d know that I have to have a hand sanitizer with me at all times. The Bath and Body Works PocketBac Sanitizing Hand Gel in Aloha Orchid (here) is my latest obsession. It makes my hands feel clean and refreshed, without feeling sticky. This germ killer not only gets the job done wonderfully but also smells absolutely beautiful, like paradise. It has a fantastic sweet, tropical scent and it is supposed to smell like Hawaiian orchid and iced papaya. Yum.

Skincare on a Budget / The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil Review

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-In-Oil

Investing in a good skincare is vital if you want your skin to be all glowing and beautiful. Let’s face it though – it’s not the most purse-friendly thing in the world and finding cheaper products that work wonders is a rare occasion. Luckily, it’s not an impossible one and the new Vitamin E Overnight Serum In Oil from The Body Shop (here) only comes to prove it. This bottle of perfection has been my skin’s best friend from the past few months. It makes my skin feel and look absolutely incredible and the fact that it’s affordable tickles my fancy even more.

When I first saw this little gem I was immediately drawn to it. I love serums and I love face oils, so naturally I had to fall in love with this Serum-in-Oil. And was I right! This beauty is now a firm part of my evening skincare routine and let me tell ya – it is a miracle worker. It is designed for people with all skin types and my normal-to-combination skin is really loving it. Three or four drops of the product is all you need to apply before (or instead of) your evening moisturizer to ensure glowing and healthy-looking skin in the morning. Just warm up the oil between your palms and gently pat it all over your face and neck. The Serum-In-Oil is great at ‘faking’ a good 8-hour beauty sleep and I love the way it replenishes and recharges my skin. In the morning my complexion is so radiant, hydrated and silky soft. It is literally like getting new skin overnight – it’s love.

The Serum-in-Oil is enriched with wheatgerm oil and it has the highest concentration among all other products from the Vitamin E range. There are also Sunflower seed oil and Jajoba oil in the blend. What I absolutely adore about this product is that it feels so lightweight on and its instantly absorbing, non-greasy formula is downright incredible. If you are on a hunt for a moisturizing serum or oil that will replenish your skin and make it look luminous, rested and moisturized – look this way. This gem really does work a treat.

Have you tried The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil yet? How do you like it?

MAC Impassioned Lipstick / Review

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

MAC Impassioned Lipstick

MAC Impassioned Lipstick Swatches

I have a soft spot for bright lipsticks, we all know that and when they are from the pink color family – I am pretty much sold. Naturally, when I finally got my hands on MAC Impassioned (here) we bonded straight away and it left me completely besotted. It is easily the most gorgeous summery shade and its gorgeous almost-neon pink red with slight warm undertones to it is absolutely breathtaking. Yeah it is pretty bold and a lil’ crazy even but that’s what summer is all about – having fun and going out of our comfort zones when it comes to makeup, right? If you are a brighter lipstick kinda gal Impassioned is the ultimate confidence booster for the warmer months. It has a beautiful edge to it but is still uber feminine and I adore the way it adds life to my face and brightens up my complexion. And let me tell you a little secret- it will turn heads, that’s for sure!

MAC lipstick formulas usually don’t float my boat all that much but Impassioned’s Amplified formula managed to steal my heart with the first application. Full-blown color with just one swipe? Check. Creamy, buttery feeling on the lips? Check. Non-drying formula? Check. The list of awesomeness goes on – incredible four-hour longevity, non-drying formula that doesn’t cling to imperfections and the fact that it is a breeze to apply. Do I need to say more? I don’t think so – just get involved! You’ll fall head over heels in love.

Have you tried MAC Impassioned before? Do you love it as much as I do?

How To Brighten Up The Skin

Bad skin days and dull looking skin? Yeah, we’ve all been there – some more so than others *raises hand*. Sadly, my skin isn’t exactly sun kissed and luminous at the moment. Getting the eight-hour beauty sleep currently feels like a distant dream, so naturally makeup needs to come to the rescue. Here are my favorite glow-getters, which always find their way into my makeup bag when I want to bring the life back into my face and pretend that I live the dream healthy lifestyle, which let’s face it – I don’t.

My favorite way to perk up the dull complexion is to create the ‘lit from within’ type of look. To help me with that I always opt for my trusty highlighters, which never fail to impress me with the natural results they give. When I am after a bit of a glow, I always look to the L’Oreal Lumi Magique Primer (here). This illuminating gem could be used both underneath any foundation (preferably mixed with your moisturizer) to make your overall complexion look dewy and also as a liquid highlighter applied on the highest points of your face for some lift. It is grease and shine-free, there are just some finely milled shimmery particles to ensure brighter and healthier looking skin. It’s love. For when I fancy adding sublte light to my complexion this Soap & Glory Glow All Out Luminizing Powder (here) is my best friend. This is hands down the best highlighter I have ever tried and I swear by the wonders it works. No disco ball effect, no clownish look – just beautiful, radiant complexion that’s screams healthy. One swipe and you skin is immediately transformed. I use this beauty as an eye shadow all over the lid as well and I love how it brightens up the look and brings out the color of my eyes, making me look fresh and present. Definitely check it out – it’s a goodie! Review here.

A touch of brightening blush is the way to go when your skin lacks its usual spark. I have two blushes in my makeup stash, which always boost my confidence when I’m having one of those days – a pink and a beautiful peach. For pink flushed cheeks there is one product that always leaves me smitten and it is in the form of YSL Cream Bush in #9 Baby Doll (here). It is the perfect pick me up shade that instantly brightens up my face and makes me look awake. The gorgeous, almost fluorescent bright baby pink color looks a bit scary in the pan but once blended it shows its true colors – lovely cool toned pink that compliments the skin tone beautifully and looks as natural as you could get. Using my fingers I just dab this beauty on the apples of my cheeks and enjoy my radiant and brighter complexion. Review and swatches here. If you are not a pink blush kinda gal or you fancy something with slight sheen to it, then Milani Luminoso (here) is your best bet. One swirl of the brush is everything you need for brighter, luminous look. It blends seamlessly into the skin, giving the perfect pop of gorgeous peachy color and I adore how it warms up the face. It is an absolute winner and a little bad skin day savior. Review here.

Lipstick is my weakness, we all know that but it also happens to be my favorite way to boost my complexion when it lacks life. Even when I’m having a no-makeup-day I always have a brightening lipstick at the ready. Can’t say no to an instant perk-up and for me these two shades do exactly that – one coat and I feel ready to head out the door feeling ten times more confident and looking a hundred times more lively. MAC Rebel (here) and Topshop Ohh La La (here). If you’ve been reading my blog for a while I’m pretty sure you know how this goes, so I’ll spare you the tale but honestly these are the best lipsticks when it comes to brightening the thing up. Rebel and all its glory is a firm favorite because of its unique and incredible deep fuchsia berry shade, which even though being on the darker spectrum of things still adds tons of life to my face. It is classy, it is feminine and it does brighten up – little gem! Review here. For more everyday-appropriate lipstick this Top Shop offering in Ohh La La is the perfect companion. Its stunning, almost neon peachy shade with coral undertones is my lipstick of choice for Spring and Summer 2014. It perks up the skin, while still keeping everything as natural as possible and the long-lasting, buttery formula has everything on my lipstick checklist sorted. Love. It. Read all about it here.
