When it comes to spring shades there is nothing I love more than a hint of pastel or a pop of pink, paired with the look of fresh and dewy cheeks. My blush menu for Spring 2015 ticks all those boxes and thanks to this lovely lot my cheeks are perfectly set for the warmer weather…
Bourjois Cream Blush in Nude Velvet // here
Kicking things off with an old favorite, this Bourjois babe has been an inseparable part of my spring makeup bag for years now. The pastel peachy shade of Nude Velvet is any fair skinned gal’s best friend and it brightens up the complexion beautifully while adding all the right amounts of color to the cheeks. The shade is really natural and subtle and I love that it makes everything look polished and put together. The cream-to-powder finish is beautiful and the vevet-y texture of the blush makes it a dream to apply. It blends seamlessly and makes the skin look somewhat perfected. Pigmentation wise, Nude Velvet rocks and it could be build up or down depending on the look you’re after, plus it sits in place for yonks. Total winner. Review here.
Topshop Cream Blush in Flush // here
I love a good cream blush for spring and I just cannot get enough of this Topshop offering at the moment. From the formula to the oh-so-stunning color, I am in love. The cream-to-powder formula applies like a charm and I just use my fingertips to pop some of the blush on the apples of my cheeks for a uber natural flush of color. You get no patchy / uneven application with this one and it hangs around for some good eight hours as well. Flush has stole my heart with the first application with its gorgeous coral pink shade that’s just ideal for spring / summer and is a total people pleaser. It compliments all skin tones beautifully and doesn’t go flat, rather it wakes up the skin and brings life to it on the spot. If I’m having a dull skin day I like to pop this gem on and it never fails to perk up my complexion. Definitely go have a swatch – I’m sure you’ll looooove it. Review here.
Benefit Lollitint // here
The Benefit lip & cheek stains have always been a weakness of mine but the one that I am especially fond of is Lollitint*. I love me some lilac makeup so Benefit really did hit the nail on the head with this unique cool-toned lilac-y pink that screams romantic and feminine. The stain compliments my skin tone incredibly and enhances the complexion like there is no tomorrow. Once the product sets it stays in place until you say so and looks completely natural. Lollitint is being applied on days when I am going for the ‘I woke up like dis’ makeup vibe and it works a treat. I like to work one cheek at a time though as the stain does dry really quickly but if you’re fast enough you’ll be left with beautiful and even flush of color. You can also pop some of it on your lips and the color is equally brilliant and natural – ideal for those springtime afternoon walks in the park. Review here.
Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Rose // here
I am sorry for getting your heart beating a little too fast but this Physicians Formula gem had to be added to the list. This complexion cheerleader of a blush is the dream for days when you don’t fancy adding a ton of color to your cheeks but still want some oomph added to your complexion. Rose gives light wash of color but highlights the area beautifully and the sheen is just marvelous. It makes my skin radiant and luminous and instantly lifts the face. The shade is pretty neutral, so I reckon it would pep up all skin tones equally stunning. The formula is spot on as it’s not chalky or powdery; rather it is soft, super buttery and blends effortlessly. The blush stays on for about eight hours without budging so if you are after a good glow-injecting cheek companion, I suggest you look this way. Oh and P.S, how stunning is the packaging! *insert all the heart eyed emojis*
Have you tried any of these products? Which is your go-to blush this season?
