10 Summer Beauty Essentials

You know how this is gonna go down. It’s summer, the sun is out, everyone is going on holidays, so what better time for me to talk you through my beauty essentials, which I cannot for the life of me part with during the warmer months than now! I’ve gathered my favorite behind the scenes products and we’ve got everything from body care to nails thrown in the mix, so let’s discuss…

This Caudalie Polyphenol C15 SPF 20 Anti-Wrinkle Protect Cream* (here) has been keeping me the best company this summer. It’s a daily moisturizer that keeps my skin hydrated and plump throughout the day, whilst keeping it protected against sun damage. It’s the best of both worlds combined in one product really and I am absolutely loving it. The cream is really lightweight, which is ideal at this time of year and I like to slather it on post-serum for best results. For some additional help on the hydration front, this Vitamin E Face Mist from The Body Shop (here) has been a total game changer. A few spritzes of this gem is all I need when I fancy toning my skin or if I want to freshen up during the day. The cooling mist never fails to wake up my senses, plus it’s perfect to use as a makeup setting spray. The dewy skin look is seriously dreamy.

During the hot summer days makeup is always kept minimal cuz ya know - who needs full face of makeup when I am hidden behind giant floppy hat and sunglasses? Having said that, my full coverage foundation is being put aside and replaced by this Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow Foundation* (here). This beauty has sheer coverage but could be build up to medium and I love how it just blurs any imperfections, whilst feeling featherlight on the skin. It has that strange matte, yet luminous finish that somehow just makes my complexion look healthy, radiant and shine-free all at once. Love. Baby Glow also has SPF 25, which makes it even more tempting to use now that the sun rays are at their peek. Lipstick wise, when it’s summer I just have to go for the bright lip companions. They just make me feel ten times more summery. The one that I’ve been obsessing over lately is the YSL Rouge Volupte in #11 Culte Rose (here / review). Its stunning bright fuchsia color is giving me the summer vibes in an instant and I love how it compliments my skin tone. The texture is super balmy and hydrating and the easy-to-slap-on, highly pigmented formula seriously rocks.

Tan wise, the Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs (here / review) is just the bomb. It’s basically like water-resistant foundation for your legs and it hides all veins, scars or imperfections you have, leaving you with silky smooth and flawless skin. It adds all the right amounts of subtle wash-off glow and it’s perfect for those days when you want to have your beautiful legs on display. Hello shorts! If you fancy making them legs look even more gorgeous then the Yves Rocher Manoi Precious Oil* (here) is what your need in your life. Pop some of this godsend shimmery dry oil on your legs and they’ll get extra shiny and soft. The oil is pretty hydrating also and just makes the skin look sun-kissed and luminous on the spot. The little shimmery pigments help enhance your tan as well, which is the perfect post-holiday treat for me. I always do everything I can to prolong my tan for as much as I possibly can and I find that the L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil (here) is helping me with this massively. Since it is oil, it’s much more gentle on the skin and its moisturizing properties definitely help lock in the color. This beaut not only cleanses well but it leaves my skin deeply hydrated and replenished, which is ideal for the summer months when my skin is peeking through a bit more.

Summer just won’t be complete without a nice set of beach waves, am I right ladies? And for those of us who still wait to go on holiday, texturizing sea sprays are pretty much as close to the sea as we can get, so this Schwarzkopf got2b Beach Matte Spray* (here) has been living on my vanity for the past few weeks. It gives me that mermaid, tousle hair look we all know and love, minus stripping the hair or looking too crunchy. It’s cheap as chips and smells like summer in a bottle. Sold. When it comes to fragrance, the Victoria’s Secret body mists (here) are my ultimate faves. All scents are just beautiful and the fine mist cools me down without fail even on the hottest of days. My personal favorite is Aqua Kiss and that’s basically how I imagine the VS bombshells to smell like – fresh, flirty and floral.

When it comes to nails, this year the choice was pretty obvious for me. If you follow me on Snapchat (@rosychicc; #shamelessselfpromotion), you have probably seen your fare share of this Models Own Beach Bag (here) polish. It’s been practically glued to my toes and I am convinced that its bright neon peachy shade is the perfect color to sport during summertime. It’s vibrant, it’s bold and it’s super fun and instantly puts me in a better mood when I look at it. Oh, and it also makes my skin look really tan, which is always a good thing in mah’ books.

Have you tried any of these products before? Which is your go-to beauty essential for Summer 2015?

Lots of love,
Andrea
