NYX Whipped Caviar Matte Lipstick Swatches

Apologies for the overload of 90s lip themed posts over the past few months – this is the last one, promise. The whole nude brown lip trend really captured my heart though and after ages of me trying to find good dupes for the oh-so-difficult-to-find MAC Soar & Brave it’s finally here! Ladies and gentleman, say hello to NYX Whipped Caviar (here / here). This bad boy is the best drugstore alternative to our favorite Kylie Jenner lip duo and I love it to bits. Its gorgeous mauve pink brownish color is absolutely stunning and the hint of purple is the perfect finishing touch. The lippy is one of those ‘suit everyone’ lip shades, which complement all skin tones and it’s something every gal needs to have in her collection. Whipped Caviar, same as Soar (here) does something to my confidence and it makes me feel like a bombshell in an instant. This gem makes everything look more polished and put together, yet it has that cheeky vibe to it, which I adore. Whipped Caviar is the sort of lippy that makes your lips look 100x better whilst adding just a touch of everyday-friendly something. It’s a super unique shade and if you are looking for something different than the same old same old mainstream nudes, this baby is definitely something to check out.

Whipped Caviar is branded as a ‘matte’ but similar to Tea Rose (here) it’s more of a satin for me. It definitely has some serious sheeny finish going on, which was a bit of a let down for me. When I think 90s lip, I think full on matte and this lipstick just didn’t live up to the expectations sadly. It’s still absolutely stunning and I get a lot of wear out of it but I just wish it was less luster-y. Apart from that though – it rocks. The lipstick is super creamy, glides on like a dream and gives the lips a nice coat of moisture. Whipped Caviar is perfect for those no-mirror situations and the best part is that it doesn’t settle into fine lines, which I find rare with drugstore nudes. It performs decent on the longevity front and I get some good four hours of wear before it starts to fade. And for the price that’s more that I’d hope for! Gawd this stuff is good!

Have you tried NYX Whipped Caviar before? Isn’t it just a beaut?

Lots of love,
Andrea

RosyChicc Makeover

RosyChicc blog design

Notice anything different? A new design maybe? Well I’m sure you certainly do. After well over a year of me wanting to give my blog a revamp I finally took the plunge a few months back and the new design is finally here. And I bloomin’ love it. I have the oh-so-talented Chaitra from Pink Pot (here) to thank for it all. Shortly after she launched her design shop (here) I saw how incredibly talented she is and instantly decided that its time to wave my old pre-made template goodbye and finally have a custom made one that is more ‘me’ and represents me better.

And honestly I feel like Chaitra really did hit the nail on the head with that one! When we started working on the design she asked me to make a Pinterest board with designs/fonts/patterns I liked but I honestly had no idea of how I want my blog to look like. I kind of knew only what colors and general options I wanted but the rest was all her idea. I am smitten by the way she managed to get the feel of what I wanted way before I knew what it actually was haha. Talk about talent. I love it that my new design is rather minimal (I was so sick of the old cluttered and oh-too-pink one), yet it still has that feminine and chic vibe, which I am all about. I feel like the site is much more clean and user-friendly now and I love that I have some cool new features such as ‘Read More’.

I also asked Chaitra to help me make a logo of RosyChicc that I could use for branding in future and I couldn’t be more pleased with it as well. She was honestly amazing and was by my side every step of the way. We exchanged *multiple* (really - you have no idea!!) emails regarding the design and I am so thankful to her that she did everything my super perfectionist self (and probably quite annoying at times) asked for.

If you are looking for a blog makeover I honestly cannot recommend Chaitra’s designs more! She is amazingly talented, super lovely (we actually became quite good friend via the whole experience) and takes away all the stress of the revamp. She installed the blog for me, made it mobile friendly and also helped me set up some of my ads and it all happened in less than an hour – impressive! If you are not looking for custom designs at the moment, Chaitra also has some gorgeous pre-mades ones, so definitely have a peek here.

I really hope you all like the new look of RosyChicc and any feedback would be more than welcome! If there is anything you’d like to see on my blog definitely let me know and I’ll do my best to make it happen!

How do you feel about the new design? Do you like it more than the old one?

Lots of love,
Andrea

3 Things I’ve Been Loving Recently

I’m sorry in advance if today’s post makes you wanna have an online shopping spree but it would’ve been rude not to share my love for the following trio. I’ve been completely smitten by these godsend items and quite frankly – you do need them in your life; pronto. We have a stunning watch with a touch of rose gold to it, a brush that makes contouring a child’s play and a hair removal device that simply leaves all your concerns in the past and makes your skin irresistibly smooth, minus the pain…

Philips IPL Lumea SC1991/00 // here
I am smitten. Honestly this is all I can say at this point. Never in a million years would I have thought that removing all unwanted body hair could be done so perfectly at home without any expensive salon treatments or those painful waxing session we all know and hate. After a lot of research I finally bit the bullet and treated myself to one of the Philips Lumea IPL hair removal systems and let me just tell you – the results are phenomenal. I’ll do a full review of the tool soon but basically after about five treatments I am happy to report that about 95% of my body hair (legs, armpits, bikini area) is gone and my skin is as smooth as a dolphin. The device is super easy and relatively fast to use and all you need to do is set it to the right intensity, press it against the desired skin area (it needs to be freshly shaved) and then just press the button. The tool produces gentle impulses of light and sends heat in the hairs, causing them to fall out naturally. The cool thing about Lumea is that it also prevents the regrowth of hair; you just need to make sure you go over the desired areas with the device once a month to keep them smooth and hair free. The Philips Lumea IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) systems are super gentle of the skin, don’t cause irritation and are completely painless – score! Hello beautiful summer-ready body!

Daniel Wellington Classy St Mawes Watch* // here
You know that Daniel Wellington and I go way back and after falling head over heels in love with this beauty I knew an obsession was born. Having said that, meet the newest addition to my collection – the oh-so-beautiful Classy St Mawes! This beautiful DW baby has been glued to my wrist for the past month and the amount of compliments and questions where is it from say it all. The new Daniel Wellington Classy collection (here) is absolutely beautiful and if you love a hint of sparkle – it would be right up your alley! The beautiful Swarovski crystal index gives the watches that expensive feel and makes them look really sophisticated and feminine. All watches of the collection have ‘style’ written all over but the one that caught my eye the most was St Mawes – the leather brown wristband is stunning and the quality is insane. It goes with virtually any outfit and I sport it on both more formal events and just casual walks in the park. I love the more minimal and clean design of the DW timepieces and as a proper rose gold lover, the rose gold case is my favorite part but you can opt for silver if you fancy it as well. And as with any Daniel Wellington watch, the straps of the Classy collection are interchangeable and you can have a little play around with colors and textures depending on the look you’re going for – how cool! If you fancy treating yourself to anything from Daniel Wellington you can get 15% off your purchase using the code ‘rosychicc’; it’s valid until April 30th. Happy shopping!

Zoeva 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek Brush // here
This budget friendly brush is any contour lover’s best friend. I do love a good contour and this uber soft and perfectly shaped gem works a total treat. The brush is made of high quality natural bristles that are not only super soft and gentle but also manage to pick the right amount of product without fail. I adore the angled shape of the brush as it makes sculpting the cheekbones a dream. It hugs them perfectly and you can get right into the hollows of the cheeks and define them as you wish. I find that Luxe Sheer Cheek works best with powder products and paired with my favorite bronzer it transforms my cheeks and makes them from bare-there to super high and modelesque. This baby blends product like there is no tomorrow and sometimes I like to use it for blush and highlight too. Get yourself one of these ladies; it’s a good’un!

Have you tried any of these products before?

Two Concealer Brushes You Need in Your Life

Best Concealer Brushes / Real Techniques Detailer brush and Zoeva Concealer Buffer brush

Best Concealer Brushes / Real Techniques Detailer brush and Zoeva Concealer Buffer brush

Concealer is the number one product that I never leave the house without. There, I said it. But it’s true – it covers all signs of the what I like to call “I watched way too much Made In Chelsea last night and now I look dead” syndrome, it could cover all blemishes and imperfections and it’s basically the one thing that could give me tons of confidence. I used to buy new concealer every week, trying to find the best one that could help me hide all my skin problems but with the time I actually came to the realization that even if you have the best concealer on the market if you don’t have the right brushes to apply it with you are basically wasting your time. So after a lot of trial and error situations (some of it quite hilarious if I may add) I finally fund the winning duo that works a total treat and makes my skin oh-so-flawless. Let’s talk about those bad boys, shall we…

Real Techniques Detailer Brush // here
Shout out to the best blush for covering blemishes! The tiny size of the Detailer Brush and the fact that it’s rather stiff and pointed makes it perfect for covering small areas on the skin. The brush offers great precision and I like to use my ‘concealer-powder-concealer-powder’ rule with it and it works an absolutely brilliant job at covering the blemish and setting the concealer in place for the day. I always take a minimal amount of product onto the brush and just press (never wipe) it into the skin for best results. The Detailer Brush has synthetic bristles and I find that it works equally well with both cream and liquid concealers, plus it makes everything look as natural as possible and no cakey. What I love about this gem is that it also washes well and dries within seconds, so I can clean it every time before doing my makeup and make sure I don’t disperse any bacteria into the trouble areas. The only bugbear with this brush is that you need to buy the whole RT Core Collection Kit but the rest of the brushes are bloomin’ marvelous as well, so it’s totally worth the splurge. Hello flawless complexion!

Zoeva Concealer Buffer // here
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – I am never applying concealer with my fingers again! Not after I’ve discovered the Concealer Buffer brush and the way it blends my under eye concealer. This medium sized babe is one of the softest brushes that have touched my face and I love how gentle it is on the skin. The bristles are pretty dense, which means that it gives full coverage and it also blends the product so seamlessly into the skin. The Concealer Buffer applies the concealer really evenly with no harsh lines or strokes, which is usually an issue with most brushes. I tend to use it with liquid concealer and under my eyes, around my nose, and on my chin. This brush is what every girl should own really, so don’t forget to pop it to your wish list ladies!

Which is your favorite concealer brush?

Lots of love,
Andrea

YSL Rouge Volupte in #11 Rose Culte Swatches

I do apologize in advance if this post makes you want to storm out to your nearest YSL counter and get your mitts on a new lippy. At least that’s how I felt when I stumbled upon this YSL Rouge Volute in #11 Rose Culte (here) for the first time.

It took me some time to get hold of it but now that it’s being added to my collection I think it’s safe to say that it is downright incredible. We bonded with the very first application and its uber bright and bold deep fuchsia / rose shade is literally to die for. The color of the lipstick is rather unique and I can’t really compare it to anything in my stash. It’s really vibrant but still pretty wearable and I love how classy and sophisticated it looks on the lips. Rose Culte is one of those shades that make me feel 10x more sexy and feminine and boost my confidence on the spot. I’d say that the color is pretty neutral so I imagine it would suit a lot of deferent skin tones. I like to pair the lippy with a hint of pink blush, a dash or eyeliner and lashes coated with volumizing mascara – Victoria’s Secret bombshell vibes right here!

The Rouge Volupte lippies are the crème de la crème of lipsticks in my books and Rose Culte is no exception. It is cushiony soft and buttery, which makes it a breeze to apply. It goes on smooth and even and feels super hydrating and comfortable on. Rose Culte is really rich and pigmented and you get full-blown color with one swipe across the lips. The good news don’t stop here though and there is no awkward fading or bleeding in different areas with this one. The glossy finish is absolutely beautiful and if you fancy getting more of a stain effect you can lightly just dab the product on the lips and the results are beautiful. As with any Rouge Volupe lipstick, Rose Cult is not the longest lasting of the bunch and it stays on for no more than two hours. Ouch. The good thing, however, is that I don’t really mind taking the snazzy packaging out of my bag and reapplying the lippy, plus it does stain the lips a bit so it’s all good. Apart from that though, Culte Rose has stolen my heart and I am in looooooove.

Have you tried Culte Rose before?

Lots of love,
Andrea

Spring Blush Picks

spring blushes

benefit lollitint

When it comes to spring shades there is nothing I love more than a hint of pastel or a pop of pink, paired with the look of fresh and dewy cheeks. My blush menu for Spring 2015 ticks all those boxes and thanks to this lovely lot my cheeks are perfectly set for the warmer weather…

Bourjois Cream Blush in Nude Velvet // here
Kicking things off with an old favorite, this Bourjois babe has been an inseparable part of my spring makeup bag for years now. The pastel peachy shade of Nude Velvet is any fair skinned gal’s best friend and it brightens up the complexion beautifully while adding all the right amounts of color to the cheeks. The shade is really natural and subtle and I love that it makes everything look polished and put together. The cream-to-powder finish is beautiful and the vevet-y texture of the blush makes it a dream to apply. It blends seamlessly and makes the skin look somewhat perfected. Pigmentation wise, Nude Velvet rocks and it could be build up or down depending on the look you’re after, plus it sits in place for yonks. Total winner. Review here.

Topshop Cream Blush in Flush // here
I love a good cream blush for spring and I just cannot get enough of this Topshop offering at the moment. From the formula to the oh-so-stunning color, I am in love. The cream-to-powder formula applies like a charm and I just use my fingertips to pop some of the blush on the apples of my cheeks for a uber natural flush of color. You get no patchy / uneven application with this one and it hangs around for some good eight hours as well. Flush has stole my heart with the first application with its gorgeous coral pink shade that’s just ideal for spring / summer and is a total people pleaser. It compliments all skin tones beautifully and doesn’t go flat, rather it wakes up the skin and brings life to it on the spot. If I’m having a dull skin day I like to pop this gem on and it never fails to perk up my complexion. Definitely go have a swatch – I’m sure you’ll looooove it. Review here.

Benefit Lollitint // here
The Benefit lip & cheek stains have always been a weakness of mine but the one that I am especially fond of is Lollitint*. I love me some lilac makeup so Benefit really did hit the nail on the head with this unique cool-toned lilac-y pink that screams romantic and feminine. The stain compliments my skin tone incredibly and enhances the complexion like there is no tomorrow. Once the product sets it stays in place until you say so and looks completely natural. Lollitint is being applied on days when I am going for the ‘I woke up like dis’ makeup vibe and it works a treat. I like to work one cheek at a time though as the stain does dry really quickly but if you’re fast enough you’ll be left with beautiful and even flush of color. You can also pop some of it on your lips and the color is equally brilliant and natural – ideal for those springtime afternoon walks in the park. Review here.

Physicians Formula Nude Wear Glowing Nude Blush in Rose // here
I am sorry for getting your heart beating a little too fast but this Physicians Formula gem had to be added to the list. This complexion cheerleader of a blush is the dream for days when you don’t fancy adding a ton of color to your cheeks but still want some oomph added to your complexion. Rose gives light wash of color but highlights the area beautifully and the sheen is just marvelous. It makes my skin radiant and luminous and instantly lifts the face. The shade is pretty neutral, so  I reckon it would pep up all skin tones equally stunning. The formula is spot on as it’s not chalky or powdery; rather it is soft, super buttery and blends effortlessly. The blush stays on for about eight hours without budging so if you are after a good glow-injecting cheek companion, I suggest you look this way. Oh and P.S, how stunning is the packaging! *insert all the heart eyed emojis*

Have you tried any of these products? Which is your go-to blush this season?

Lots of love,

Spring Scents From Victoria’s Secret

Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mists in Pure Daydream and Sensual Blush

The sun has finally come out and it finally feels like spring outside. The trees are blossoming and the air is filled with all sorts of magical scents that inspired me to have a little ‘sniff party’, dig through my stash and put my perfume wardrobe for the season in order. Two fragrances stood out the most and they are both from the Victoria’s Secret Fragrance Mist collection, which I adore. Both Pure Daydream and Sensual Blush smell like spring in a bottle and their sweet floral scents never fail to put me in a better mood. They are light, fresh, carefree and I am all about the refreshing and cooling sensation you get when you spritz yourself from head to toe for a touch of scent…

Pure Daydream (£11) would be your best friend if you love fruity and floral fragrances that are not overly sweet and have that crisp note to them. This gem is infused with pink orchid and pink currant and it is the perfect spring/summer daytime scent. As with all the VS mists, Pure Daydream is very lightweight and the scent is subtle and not at all overpowering. I find Pure Daydream very soothing and relaxing and it instantly makes me dream of sunny gardens full of peonies. I am not the best at describing scents, we all know that, but I find that Pure Daydream has a hint of citrus thrown in for a good measure, which makes the overall feel of the fragrance more fresh and ideal for the warmer weather. Love.

Sensual Blush (£11) is definitely one of the sweetest fragrances I own and I love it for it. The pink lotus and sultry woods blend is absolutely dreamy and even though the scent is a bit sharper than Pure Daydream it is still perfect for the season. It’s definitely more sophisticated and grown-up but still has that playful and fresh vibe to it, which makes it the perfect springtime companion. Sensual Blush is quite a sultry scent and if you love floral fragrances I’m sure you’ll fall in love with this babe. Same as Pure Daydream, it hangs around for about five hours, which is bloomin’ impressive for a body spray, isn’t it?! And if you’re still contemplating trying either of the scents maybe the fact that they are infused with Aloe Vera and Chamomile will convert you – I love how soothing and refreshing they feel on.

I’m sure to be spritzing these gems liberally all over this season and I highly recommend you give them a sniff; they rock! Oh and you might also want to add this one to your sniff list – you’ll thank me later!

Lots of love,
Andrea

MAC Blush in Dame / Review

MAC Blush in Dame

MAC Dame Blush

MAC Dame Blush

MAC Dame Blush Swatches

Cool toned pink blushes and I go way back and I am always on a hunt for a new one to add to my stash. The latest addition to my blush drawer comes from MAC and it’s in the form of the oh-so-stunning Dame (here). This gorgeous ballerina pink cool toned babe compliments my complexion (NW20) beautifully and it took me less than a second to completely fall in love with it. The satin finish is the perfect touch and Dame never fails to perk up my skin and make it look more lively and healthy, which I adore. It is slightly darker than the famous MAC Well Dressed and I love how subtle but still eye-catching it is. Dame is the perfect everyday blush and I love how it makes things more polished and flattering. Dame paired with winged eyeliner and fuchsia lip is my go-to combo at the moment and the amount of comments I get on that look says it all really.

After reading numerous of reviews saying that Dame is not my best bet pigmentation wise, I was a bit scared of how it would perform but I am happy to announce that it actually works a treat. All the desired adjectives apply to this beauty and it is buttery, blendable, not powdery and hangs around from dawn to dusk (big thumbs up for that one). Dame has amazing color pay off that’s right in the middle - it makes sure you won’t end up looking like a clown but still manages to take care of both your cheeks in one swipe. Brilliant. It really is a good un’ and if you are a fellow cool toned pink blush lover – you might wanna add Dame to your wishlist pronto.

Have you tried MAC Dome before? Which is your Holy Grail cool toned pink blush?

March Most-Loved

Beauty Favorites

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow

Benefit Puff Off

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay Nail Polish in Mint For Life

Another month has slipped through my fingers and as much as I love the thought that summer is one step closer, I can’t help it but feel like this year is already slipping through my fingers. Things happen so quickly that I cannot fully appreciate most of them and I honestly feel slightly overwhelmed. Today is the day Alex (my boyfriend) and I are getting the keys to our apartment and I am feeling all kinds of happy and excited. We are now the proud owners of our first home and the feeling is honestly incredible. I am really looking forward to decorating everything the way we like it, buy cute kitchen utensils, get our first sofa, choose the bathroom tiles etc. It’s those little things that make the whole experience so special and I am super excited to share our journey with you!

Okay, I will stop rambling now and focus on the important stuff – sharing my March most-loved beauty bits. Some brilliant products that work a total treat have been found and now my skin is beautifully cleansed, my under eye area is well ironed, my lashes are longer then ever and my cheeks and tips are graced with gorgeous spring shades. Oh boy was it a fab montnth!

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil // here
New skincare favorite right here. I cannot believe how long it took me before taking the plunge and getting this cult blogger favorite! As usual I hopped late on the bandwagon but I bloomin’ love the results and there is no going back now. Since using the Camomile Cleanser my Bioderma has been put on the bench and now this is all I use to remove my base and eye makeup. This cleansing oil completely changed the makeup remover game for me and I love how it gets rid of every last bit of makeup (yes that stubborn waterproof mascara too) without leaving oily residue. The texture is just dreamy and once it’s wiped off with muslin cloth the skin feels nourished, clean and glowing. And all this in under three minutes – love love love.

Benefit Puff Off* // here
I will be honest here and say that when I first tried Puff Off I wasn’t wowed. I quite liked it, the concepts seemed cool but it wasn’t anything mind-blowing and something I’d say you need in your life. However, after being ill for well over two weeks and with my dear friend insomnia making an appearance, Puff Off grew on me and we really bonded. I pop it in the fridge overnight and the next morning the salmon toned soothing & cooling gel with fun iron applicator literally irons away those creases and kisses the puffiness goodbye. My under eye area looks brighter, the wrinkles are smoother, the skin is well hydrated and the cooling sensation is the best morning pick me up. Oh and my concealer looks kick ass on top as well; it’s official - I am sold!

Max Factor Masterpiece Transform Mascara // here
I got to try quite a few mascaras over the past four weeks and after Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye (here) proved itself to be quite the disappointment, this Max Factor babe was a pleasant surprise. Even though it’s branded as ‘volumizing mascara’, I’d day that it actually performs better on the lengthening front and it makes my lashes look from bare-there to extra long and beautiful. Review is coming your was very soon so I won’t spoil you with too much details but I’ll say that it separates like a boss, holds curl perfectly, does add a touch of volume, hangs around for yonks and it’s completely clump-free. Little winner for days when I am after a more natural look and want my lashes to be super long and fluttery.

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow // here
I talked about Rose Glow in my Spring Beauty Essentials post here but since I’ve been wearing it non-stop lately I thought it’s earned yet another mention. It doubles as highlighter and a pinky blush and I love how it instantly perks up my complexion by adding all the right amounts of color and shimmer. It’s not super glitter-laden and the shimmer is very finely milled and wearable. Rose Glow makes the skin look seriously dreamy and I love how dewy and healthy it gets once this is dusted on my cheeks. The palette has beautiful creamy texture that just glides on without being chalky or look powdery - score. The pink-y nude shade is to die for as well and I even like to pop some of it on my eyelids for a nice veil of color. Try it – it does look beaut.

Maybelline Forever Strong Super Stay in Mint For Life // here
I am going mint tips crazy at the moment and the gem that has been applied more than three times in a row for the past month has been this Maybelline stunner. The shade is everything – creamy, pastel, bright and happy and it reminds me of the sea (triple bonus points for that one!). On the nails Mint For Life is as close to Essie Mint Candy Apple (here) as it could get but the Maybelline offering is a bit lighter and more blue. Mint For Life makes my hands look clean and tan and the color is just a people pleaser in terms of complimenting different skin tones. The thing that made this beauty a firm favorite though is the formula. Oh my, the formula. It’s just brilliant. The polish is super rich and opaque and you need only two thin coats to get the color even. It dries within seconds and the nail hugging tapered brush makes the application a child’s play. And the longevity? Well that’s the best part and Mint For Life literally stays put for a solid week! True story.

Have you tried any of these products before? Which products have you been loving lately?

Lots of love,
Andrea
