How is it March already? Seriously though, time seems to be just flying by and I cannot believe we’re almost three months into 2016! Crazy! I am feeling super spring-y and I am really looking forward to some sunshine! Having said that, next week I’m off to a little ski trip with the boy and my family and I am really hoping that there will be some snow left so I can hit the slopes! The weather forecast is not very promising but we’ll see. Fingers crossed! Anyway, today we talk beauty favorites and let’s just say that February was a good’un makeup wise! Here is why:
Lush Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar (here)
So is you’re following me on Instagram (here) you may know that I got really into fitness recently and I am absolutely loving it! Three times a week, my personal trainer and I is brilliant but let me tell you – he does push me to my limits. And you know what this means? Yep, sore muscles. #auch! To help me soothe those aching muscles I’ve been using the Wiccy Magic Muscles Massage Bar from Lush. It is specifically targeted towards sore muscles and I love it! It warms up my whole body and really helps me relax and soothe the pain. It is my fave post-workout treat and I adore its spicy, therapeutic scent. Wiccy Magic Muscles also hydrates the skin beautifully without being too greasy. The scent lingers and adds to the whole spa-like experience and you will be left feeling warmed up, less ache-y and super relaxed! In my ski trip bag it goes!
H&M High Impact Eye Colour Eyeshadow in Sahara Dawn
H&M have really impressed me with their new range and their single eyeshadows are the bomb! I picked up the shade Sahara Dawn and it’s been practically living on my eyelids for the past month. It was a real struggle to capture its true color but it is a stunning cranberry share with slight purple undertones – perfect for all fellow green-eyed gals! It has some fine shimmer running through, which captures the light in all the light places and just adds a touch of sheen. I was seriously impressed by the formula as I usually find it difficult to find good, affordable, non-chalky eyeshadows. This one ticks all the boxes though. It’s blendable, has incredible color pay-off and hangs around for ages without creasing. Love!
Charlotte Tilbury Colour Chameloen in Amethyst Aphrodisiac (here)
So Charlotte Tilbury did it again! It made me completely fall in love with a products and this one has been swiped on quite regularly recently! It’s my first product from the Colour Chameleon range and I will be definitely getting my mitts on some of the other shades. Amethyst Aphrodisiac is made specifically for green eyes and oh boy – does it make them seriously pop! The shade is very similar to H&M Sahara Dawn but in cream form and I love it for nights out – it is the most beautiful swift smokey eye. Amethyst Aphrodisiac really enhances the color of my eyes and I love the small glitter particles that run through the color. I find that the eyeshadow pencil works best ran all over the lid and worn on its own. The formula is lovely even though in all honesty I expected more. The pencil glides on easily but I find it a tad drying and difficult to blend. It does set to a nice smooth finish though, so it’s nothing too bad. What I love about the formula though is the longevity – this baby stays put until you say so and doesn’t crease. Review coming up soon.
Guerlain Meteorites Pearles in 02 Clair (here)
Guerlain have been taking the beauty world by storm recently, which reminded me to dig out my Meteorites and have a play with them. The result? I have fallen back in love with them and I’ve been using them daily throughout the month of February. They are basically finishing powder (not a setting one as many seem to think), which you dust all over your face and you end up with beautiful airbrushed skin. What is the secret behind the technology I don’t know but I do know that the pearls are basically like a Photoshop for your face. They minimize the size of my pores, even out the skin tone, reduce redness, matte thing down and on top of that somehow manage to add gorgeous healthy glow. I love how the Meteorites blur everything and how natural my skin looks when I apply them. No cakey, powdery finish, just natural and radiant glow. I am smitten!
Bare Minerals Prime Time Neutralizing Foundation Primer* (here)
I’ve been looking for a good color correcting primer for ages, so when this beauty hit my doorstep I was beyond excited and a love affair has started. Now I don’t have a lot of redness or discoloration on my face (thank God!) but sometimes when things get spotty or extra red I like to slap this on and leave it work its magic. Prime Time Neutralizing primer, as the name would suggest, is a silicone-based neutralizing primer, which combats redness and hyper pigmentation. It goes on yellow but blends with the skin beautifully reducing the appearance of all imperfections. It evens out the skintone and just brightens up the skin thanks to the light-reflective pigments in the primer. I find that Prime Time does add a touch of moisture into the skin and preps it for the foundation application. If you’re struggling with redness / discoloration look this way ladies!
Have you tried any of these products before? Which was your fave product in February?
Lots of love,
